The product itself works great. I had to buy additional fittings at Home Depot but this was nothing to do with the product. I deleted a star because the directions are incomplete. Once you install the batteries in the sending unit you have to program the remote within a couple of minutes.

The OFF-REMOTE-ON switch is too sensitive. The unit cuts off sometimes after running for just five or ten minutes. Thermostat may be defective. The pilot has gone out twice since it was installed five days ago. I'm not very happy with this unit at this point. Maybe after a breakin period it will be better.

I replaced a high end brand with multi-functional remote that failed after 5 years. This set provides good value and a simplified remote that my family finds easier to use. One detail that is not well conveyed is the use of standing pilot v. intermittant type. Some buyers may find this objectionable

this unit flame was barely visible in my fireplace on high. I returned it. Was not satisfied

we needed a thermostatic remote and this was only an on and off so we returned it.

Remote was not preprogrammed to logs. Also tends not to light on first try but have to turn on then off then on again.

The pilot light kept going out and then the carbon monoxide detector went off in the middle of the night and the fire dept was at out door! We can't seem to get a repair person to look at it....haven't been able to use it...now need to disconnect it and return it to home depot!

I had them professionally installed by the LP provider (who also sell gas logs) and he was very impressed with them. I personally love them. They give off a lot of heat.

Beautiful and easy to use. The pilot light burns really high and puts off a little heat as well as some sound. That’s my only complaint

Logs stopped working after just 2 1/2 months use. Remote feature stopped working.It is not a battery issue. The remote quit activating the gas valve to turn on the logs

PROS: Installation was quick and easy. The appearance of the logs is fairly realistic. The remote works.CONS: Burner control changes the height of the flame only very, very slightly. Pilot light control does not work. Burner controls and remote receiver are not concealed at all.

We've burned the logs for about four hours over three nights, it still smells and if I shut the damper the smoke detector goes off. Open the damper, no smell and no smoke detector but heat is going up the chimney. I've tried to position logs so they aren't in the flames. I hope this problem resolves

THESE FIREPLACE LOGS WERE INCORRECTLY PUT TOGETHER AND EXPLODED IN A HUGE FIREBALL IN MY LIVING ROOM. I WILL RETURN THEM ASAP.

The first one of these I ordered arrived in non-working condition. It also did not appear to be properly assembled from the factory (loose parts/connections). The second one is installed and works, but it smells terribly. All gas logs do, but this is the worse I’ve experienced. Get what u pay for.

Very easy to install, the only tricky thing is putting in the batteries in the fireplace, however if you don’t care about the remote control it can be installed in under 5 minutes.

My husband and I gave each other this fireplace log set for Christmas. We searched a lot of the sets on the market and chose this one. I wish I could give it five stars, but it had a few issues. It is poorly designed, the feet of the grate do not set on the floor of the fireplace. The whole assembly is held up with the plastic cover plate for the starter switch. The smell from the burn off of the new hand-painted logs, was hard to bare. We had to open the flue for a few days, before the offensive odor went away. I like the remote control, no matches and convenient. I wish it had a thermostat to keep the room at a constant temperature. I guess you get what you pay for. The logs are nice looking, don't know how it heats yet, with flue opened, all the heat goes up the chimney. Right now, it only gets three stars. I'll check back after I've used without the open flue.

Fireplace heats well, looks nice when in use. I have had it in operation approximately 10 days when it shut down. Duracell batteries should last more than 10 days. I turn it on and completely off manually with every use. Any ideas of what's wrong with this situation.

The adjustable flame height valve at the highest setting gives an average flame height, but this could be due to gas pressure in my house. The wireless on-off switch is good, but not ideal. The setting selector is mounted too low causing the base to wobble. Overall it is good but does not get an A.

This is a solid 4-star product. I purchased these after returning a cheaper model with log placement defects. This set is a good balance: decent heat, decent ambiance, decent looks, decent price. Things to know: 1) The burn in time is much longer than you expect-like 15-20 hours. I almost returned them...but then the burning ceremic smell went away. 2) There is no thermostat, and the valve on the logs is fairly useless. At full strength, the logs make my house smell like gas in about 45 minutes (that's not a defect; when you see the pretty yellow flame you aren't burning all the gas by design). But I find that the shut-off valve outside my fireplace does a very good job of keeping the set at a nice low flame, allowing me to enjoy longer before shutting the flame off. 3) Installation in a fireplace with an existing gas line and shut-off valve was quite easy. Just needed an installation kit that HD sells. Overall these do a fine job cutting the winter chill and providing just a touch of hominess.

I would give these fire logs a 5 star,easy to install, logs fired up on 1st attempt and the remote was easy to program. The other reviews I read that had some negative responses were from customers who may not have followed the instructions from start to finish. Great product for the average person as long as you followed the instructions from beginning to end. I will recommend these gas longs to anyone who asked me a way to save money and still have a quality product.
