I work in the asphalt paving industry and we use these levels to assure the paving meets the ADA requirements and check slope for proper drainage. We prefere the Empires over other manufactureers because they self calibrate and stabilize quickly. When we place the level on hot asphalt (320 F) we need a quick read before the alluminum body statrs to warp. The Empires never disappoint. We have purchased both the 4' and 6' levels and will continue to do so.

Works great for professional concrete

Takes all the guesswork out of the job

The empire 9in. magnetic digital torpedo level made instaulling pvc drain waist vent pipe at the correct pitch extremely easy. The level is very solid, and the display is very bright when you press the light button to light it up. I set it at in.ft. and was very easy to see in areas that were not very bright. It shuts it self off if not used after a certain amount of time to conserve the batteries. It's very easy to set the mode you want, and it stays at that mode even after shutting off , and putting it back on, unless you want to change the mode after turning back on. It made the job much easier.

This is much better than the Johnson digital level I tried first. It’s easier to read, waterproof, and self-calibrating. No worries using it.

Work just as expected

The level seemed to be solidly built and it had all the options I was looking for so I bought it. Unfortunately the display was hard to see outside and the audio indicator could barely be heard if there is any other noise or activity near where you are working. I also thought the magnets should have been located on the grooved channel edge for use on conduit. I returned it.

Works perfectly just as described

Level worked as expected. Was able to measure floor slopes easily. Very sturdy and durable level.

A very fine level overall, but two features really appeal to me. First, the numerical readout means I don't have to put on my reading glasses to be sure I'm really level or plumb. Second, the beep on level or plumb is very handy while working alone. its kind of expensive for a level, but I bought my last level more than 30 years ago and aside from looking old it is still good enough for most projects.

Great level. Works great and is perfect for someone like me who's eyes find it harder to center the bubble. It's both a curse and a benefit for someone OCD like me hitting the magic number..

Empire and Home Depot are the consummate "match made in heaven" - 2 companies that stand 100%+ behind quality products like this 105.48 EMPIRE level - love the "inspect" mode as I did love the laser on the 100.48 predecessor - the inspect mode makes life that much easier in lieu of the laser which in its' own right in conjunction with a string line and stakes/pins worked seamlessly but DID require more time and energy to setup/locate as opposed to using the genius "inspect" mode that permits setting whatever slope your targeting as your "0" reference mark and all one has to do is walk the entire running dim. of the element they're checking - i.e. - an existing ramp not to exceed the target slope and the millisecond that the target slope which is set by the user in "INSPECT" mode is exceeded, an audible alarm activates - what a timesaver!!! - and of course another improvement over the 100.48 is the display window on the horizontal top of the level which again makes this an outstanding "must have" in a contractor's/DIY's toolbox - especially knowing that EMPIRE stands behind their products as does HOME DEPOT 100%+ - they service what they sell as the 'ole cliche goes! Precise measurements. Easy to read. Simple to use.

Spend $124 on a level and the LCD failed after 1 year and 4 months of light use with new batteries. 1 year warranty is unacceptable.

It's amazing I love it. Only thing I don't care for is the price. Little expensive.

Bubble, does not match digital numbers..

A must have torpedo level. Leaps and bounds better than your standard level. Makes quick work of checking pitches and square.
