Best pruner/lopper I ever used!
Just purchased the Super Pruner. It is so lightweight but don’t let that fool you. This thing is a workhorse on pruning branches…cuts them like butter. I’m a 73 year old woman that loves yard work and this was just the tool for me. My son couldn’t believe how easily it cut through branches. Trimmed my rose of sharon trees and lots of burning bushes in just a few hours! Don’t need power tools with this beauty!

The plastic bottom snapped right off the second usage, I was thinking to myself when I purchased it, seems weird to have so much plastic, I was right.

          Cuts GREAT, easy to use.
Only reason for a 4 instead of a 5: is’s partly my fault because I tried to open it up too far to cut a branch and used a little too much force, I guess, and it went beyond the gear range and locked wide open. There should be a stop as part of the design to prevent that. I’m not that strong so it locked open relativly easily. The only way to realign the two parts is to use a METRIC hex wrench (it’s Geeman after all). Other than that this is a great product and I highly tecomend it, just don’t force it open too far. It was a pain to fix.

As others have noted, the anvil part is made of plastic which becomes brittle over time and breaks. However, Fiskars sent a replacement out right away when I called them about honoring the lifetime warranty. So instead of giving it one star I will give it three since it works really well until the plastic gives way. It's just too bad that it has to be replaced every year or two.

This shear powered through the 1 to 2 inch thick ash tree branches with ease. It made trimming easy. It worked as well as a pruner with much a much longer handle.

The titanium blade edge started deforming as soon as I put it to use. Limbs much smaller than the stated capacity caused the cutting edge to have a scalloped appearance and now, does not meet the anvil part of the cutter.

They don't make TITANIUM like they used to! Actually, if you read the fine print you will see Titanium is only a coating. On the worn blade you can see the coating like an anodized finish so the blade doesn't rust and it gives the blade anti-stick properties. The good points: I like this tool for many reasons: Lightweight, priced right, good leverage. The card attached to this tool claims "up to 3x more cutting power" Compared to what?? The bad point: ( see photos ) the blade snapped. I would have thought the composite anvil or gears would have broken down before the metal blade did. Anyway, the tool was around 2 years old and a favorite when doing yard work. I was in the middle of clearing shrubs, so it made more sense to buy another and continue working than to wait on a warranty claim.

Somehow these got left behind when we moved house. Id had these for over 10 years and loved how good they fit the bill when this 50+ lady had to cut back bushes. They are probably the lightest weight you can find which is a big plus. They are easy to use and perfect, if like me you no longer have a lot of strength in your hands anymore. I think the arthritis foundation even recommends them. Anyway i just bought a replacement cos now i have Cedar trees to shape up from the ground and im very happy they have NOT changed the design with the gears cos it really makes it so much easier on me -less fatigue. I would recommend anyone who gardens to buy these!

The lifetime warranty works - just not at Home Depot
Initially, I went to HD to exchange a broken Fiskars product, which has a lifetime warranty. I was told that the warranty is with the manufacturer, not Home Depot. I emailed a picture of the broken product to Fiskars, who shipped me a replacement - no questions asked. It was disappointing that I had to wait a week or two for the replacement but I'm very happy with the warranty.

                Makes pruning effortless and fast!
This lopper are like no other I've used in the past. The mechanics make it easy and painless to cut off branches or trim shrubs. Have used these for a good part of a day and my arms were fine that evening! The anvil design glides smoothly through the branches, up to 1.25" Very happy I purchased!

Great lopper for the home garden
Fiskars PowerGear 13-1/4 in. Titanium Anvil Lopper is an addition to a larger one I've had for decades. This one is surprisingly light and much smaller than most loppers and is more convenient to take around in the garden with shears when trimming bushes. You know when trimming away and a dead branch sticks out and you want to snip it right then and there. Its light weight means its easy to carry and not in the way at all. The advantage of this smaller lopper is the gear system in the head which provides a mechanical advantage. This means the same force can be applied to the cutting end than a longer handle. The package reads it has a three times advantage. The tool is primarily made of tough plastic except for the cutting end. The anvil part is plastic. It has a titanium coated blade which seems to be the thing these days and should keep sap from sticking. I didn't have any problems using it, but I only had light duty for it so far around the garden. I see it for primarily the home garden and am glad to have it.

                Lightweight but not super solid
The Powergear 13.25" Titanium Anvil Lopper is a great tool for dealing with pesky branches and limbs. The tool is extremely lightweight because almost the entire thing is made of plastic -- only the cutting blade and the screws that hold it together are metal -- and this makes reaching for above-head branches much more pleasant than with heavier loppers. While I don't expect to have any problems with the lopper because it's made by the reputable Fiskars (whose other products I own and love), the plastic construction does not feel as solid and durable as some of my older tools. The product description says that the lopper can be used on branches up to 1.25" in diameter, but I've had to make several passes at branches larger than 1" which is not a problem I've had with other loppers. A big reason for this is that every time I use this lopper to cut branches larger than 1", the handles feel like they're about to break under the strain of the cut. The main reason for this, I believe, is that, unlike traditional loppers which have 2 cutting blades, this lopper only has one cutting blade (the other half of the "scissor" part is a flat plastic part). I haven't broken the lopper so far, but I highly recommend not pushing it beyond the 1.25" cutting limit. TL;DR = If you're using this lopper for branches no larger than 1" in diameter, it's a great buy. If you're wanting to cut branches larger than 1", though, spend the extra money on a larger, more substantial set of loppers.

Super Pruners Easy to use with 3X the Power
I love to work in the yard but have Arthritis and trimming branches can be difficult. Fiskars Power Gear have 3X more cutting power and are easy to hold and use. The blades are made of titanium and have a lifetime warranty. The Pruner/Lopper work with a gear that open and closes making it easier to cut branches. They are also indorsed by the Arthritis Foundation.

Cuts smaller branches easily. Lightweight and compact, it minimizes the effort required for small trimming jobs. Easy to store. Despite being light and compact, the tool feels durable. Cleans up readily. Lifetime warranty makes this an easy choice for an anvil pruner.

                  Essential tool for hunting
SILENTLY cut thick & thin branches to use a climber or ladder stand, perfect the cover and sight picture while hunting the ground, and effortlessly cut thru the breast plate/bone to field dress or quarter. Hatchets and saws use different dynamics to cut which create a lot more noise. Because this uses leverage, you control the speed of the cut and thus the amount of noise it makes. It's very easy to avoid spooking deer. Bonus: IT CAN FOLD FLAT! Just open up so gears clear and fold. Voila!
