Hi Dennis, Regarding your comments, we stand behind our product and there is no reason that the part should tear - and in general, the only reasons that a part would tear/split are: 1) The radius of the piece did not match the radius of the application. The above item is basically designed to fit a 36" diameter half round (it is 6 ft of material "pre-bent" to an 18" radius) and it should flex in and out enough to cover a range of diameters from 34" to 40". If the radius of your application was significantly more or less than 18", it would put a LOT of stress on the part and cause the part to crack (if it cracks on the inside of the piece, the piece is being "pushed out" too much and if it cracks on the outside of the piece, it is being "pulled in" too much). 2) The piece can crack if you nail too close to the edge and/or use a nail that is too large.
