I cannot stress this enough; DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. I ordered the 8,000 BTU unit April 19th. The weather was barely 80 degrees and it struggled and failed to cool my 180sq ft bedroom. It makes a HORRIBLE crashing noise from ICE melting in the coils and hitting the bottom. Its set to a sensible 68-70 degrees on low fan. Today, I woke up to a puddle of water on my window sill and floor. To say, I am disappointed is an understatement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really cool air conditioner, perfect fit for my cabin by the lake. I mounted it in the loft so I love the remote feature, which also has a LCD thermostat display. This unit also does the job.

The air conditioner so far works fine. The only problem I have with this is the light that shines thru the air vent from outside which is bright and distracting when you are trying to sleep during the day. Why???

This air conditioner works well. It was very easy to install. It is a lot quieter than my old ac.

Have used this model and prior generations for years. Good when they work. Most tend to short after a couple years and the compressor gets stuck on which will inevitably freeze the coils. Useless without remote temp sensing (the onboard sensors are about 15 degrees off from ambient temps). This one came with a bad remote, which is stuck at 32F for sensing. Bummer because like I said, when they work they’re great.

My new air conditioner works very well. I used it a couple of days ago, and within 20 minutes, my little apartment was cool and comfortable. I also like the features on the remote.

Works great! Easy setup. Better than most air direction control in my experience. Purchased to use with generator during extended power outages; hurricanes, etc. Test run on generator was impressive 27-30 deg. temperature delta in 89 deg. outdoor temp.

I thought we were out of luck during this last heat wave as most local stores were out of larger BTU units. I just happened to come across this 15,000 unit at the great discounted price of $370 from $529. I got another $50 off by opening up a HD credit card, so $320 plus tax with free shipping right to my home, which arrived the very next day. So far, I'm completely satisfied with the unit and it's performance. The living room and dining room are cool and comfortable. Definitely recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation was pretty easy- didn't take any special tools or knowledge that the average person doesn't have. My only wish is that the screw holes for the side extensions were a bit higher up, as i had to shift the whole side extension (on both sides) so that the screws would actually go into the wood of the window frame. Same goes for the center hole on the lip of A/C unit. I had to omit putting the screw there because the hole was not high up enough for the screw to go into the wood of the frame. The only other "issue" I've had with it is a rather loud sound that I would best describe as the fan hitting water. This sound only occurs when the unit has been on for an extended period of time, and is why I believe it comes from condensation of the evaporator. This may also be described in the "Normal operating sounds" of the user manual, so I am overall not concerned.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am liking my new Frigidaire 6000 BTU window-mounted room Air conditioner. I was able to assemble/attach the side extenders and install into my window myself. I have been well pleased with Frigidaire.....I also have a big Frigidaire window unit in my leaving room. And have had it for some time now and have had no problems.

Great window unit , just what i wanted great brand too, only online ordering and customer service thru home depot in store and customer service call number are the worst they know nothing that could help me , i plan next time to buy it else were , home depot customer service is terrible they just dont know nothing or have helpful employees, online is worst , almost canceled my order.

When I first purchased this unit I was thrilled. So quiet for my bedroom. However now t makes tapping and dripping noises and there appears to be mold growing on the insulation inside. It also seems to have broken a seal? This is just the third summer with it. Took the second photo after having tried to wipe down the inside.

First time purchasing a Frigidaire window a/c. It's quiet, cold and comfortable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Frigidaire purchase, and I'm completely satisfied with it. Sometimes my room gets so cold that, I will have to adjust the temperature. I am learning how to use the economy feature to my advantage.

We installed the Frigidaire 15,100 BTU window unit AC about 2 weeks ago and could not be happier. We live in a 1600 sq ft single level house and use this 1 window unit to cool the 3 bedrooms. It is saving us from the heat wave on the west coast with temperatures getting to the 100s. We do have side sliding windows and the AC barely fit in our bedroom window. I used a metal rod cut to fit in the window frame to hold the AC in and used plexiglass around the AC with clear weatherproofing tape to give it a nice, professional look.

I got this brand on the recommendation of consumer reports. I am disappointed for a number of reasons. There is no option to vent outside air on this model. This is important to me as it usually cools off at night and so pulling cool air from the outside is enough to cool the room and uses far less energy than running the compressor. Since I can't do that with this model I must set the temperature low and run the compressor. Doing so adds some noises which I didn't expect. The compressor is not that loud and was rated good compared to other brands. However there are other gurgling - clunking sounds which are disturbing when trying to sleep though not loud enough to wake me. Overall it is an OK unit. I like that it is small and I can install it by myself and it cools the bedroom as planned. Another complaint is the design requires additional foam and stuffing to seal it in the window frame. The unit includes various foam pieces which worked for the most part. I did add foamboard cut out to cover the side panel plastic frames as they are not fit well enough to seal properly. This still does not keep outside noise out. There is only a thin styrofoam seal inside the unit and outside noise comes through. If I lived in a noisy area, this might be the last straw in the list of complaints but I and live with it where I am.

There are 3 holes in the bottom that are about 4” from the front of the unit, not in the back where drain holes are meant to be. It wasnt until we saw water damage on the ceiling below that we discovered these holes and saw that the window well was FULL if water that then leaked down to the ceiling below. So other than a faulty design that leads to water damage in your house, this works great

Follow the install directions to a T and you will have one of the best AC window units money can buy. I did and it cools my first floor of my house!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this a/c a few weeks ago and so far it’s been great! It’s only May so I haven’t yet tested it through the hottest parts of a NYC summer. However, we’ve already had some pretty hot days and my room tends to get very very warm as it gets direct sunlight for most of the day and is very small with little airflow. I was surprised at how quickly this a/c was able to cool down the space and am impressed with it’s efficiency- it really only turns on when it needs to. I also love the remote! It tells you the temp of the room and you can set the a/c to adjust based on the temp of the remote. I like to put the remote in the warmest corner of my room furthest away from the a/c so that it cools down the entire room before shutting off. My only complaints so far is that it beeps really loudly whenever you press one of the buttons, which seems unnecessary. Also, the a/c itself is a bit louder than I expected.

This unit began “freezing-up” the 1st week it was installed. Ice forms on the coils and the unit quits blowing. I’ve called Frigidaire 4 times and “because of Covid” they aren’t accepting technical support phone calls on room air conditioners. After getting to the correct service area they said call volume is too large to please contact them via email. I’ve emailed them 3 times but it has been 8 days and I have not heard back.
