Like many others have stated, the clips are junk and won’t last more than a few months if you use the garage door daily. I tried different brands of tape and they all ended up failing too. A solution that worked for me was to use 3/4 pipe strapping and securing it to the metal panels with self tapping screws. This has worked out very well for me and only adds a few pounds to the door.

The instructions on the box could be better, but the YouTube video is very good. "You can do this in an hour" --- hahaha!! I don't think so!! The instructions should include prepping your garage door, as it's probably dirty. There's a lot of measuring and marking to do, which takes forever. Then you have to put up the sticky pads, which are hard to peel the backing off of. There should be more support posts per panel of insulation than just 2 -- at least 1 more. Is this stuff really going to last long enough to justify the cost? I had to buy 5 kits to cover 2 double-sized garage doors! It took me 3 afternoons to install it on one door. I had to cut all the pieces length-wise, and it cuts easily with scissors. I did it by myself, and it looks good. I hope the cats leave it alone.

I bought two of these kits to insulate my garage door to help keep my garage warmer in winter and reduce heat gain in summer. That is the only part that woks, but it doesn’t work if the panels don’t stay secured to the garage door. I really wanted to love this kit, but the included plastic annchors are total crap and they will not stay attached to one another. 1. They are too loose, 2. Poorly designed, and 3. Made from the wrong plastic as they do not hold their shape and easily deform, plus they have no strength. Go ahead and buy it. Follow the instructions to the letter and you will have missing anchors. They will fall off while you are leaving or coming home and you will run over them. Then they are destroyed. Are extras included in the box? No or not enough. After the anchors fall out so will your insulation. Pretty soon your nice neat installation will look like a tornado ran through your garage. Buy at your own risk. Why don’t people test this stuff out before releasing it to the market? I resorted to taping mine ip with white duct tape. I shouldn’t have to do this. Look at all my missing anchors! >:-[

Live in south Florida and my garage door gets hit hard during the afternoon from the sun. This helped tremendously with the temp in the garage. I didnt have to use the plastic tabs to secure it due to my garage door having the braces. Which hold the insulation in place.

The insulation made a big difference in limiting heat into our detached garage. I have a larger door that needed a bit more than 2 packs of the insulation, especially because the pieces didn’t exactly fit the door sections. Care is needed in cutting it to size. No issue in securing the plastic closures, but I sealed off the edges using a white 3M duct tape. I needed a bit over 2 rolls of it as I doubled up using overlapping strips to secure it to the metal and insulation. I’m hoping that I won’t have to do much maintenance for years to come.

Garage door needed rebalanced because this insulation increased door weight. Garage is hot in the summertime from 2 cars with hot engines and bodies. Kit is meant for storage or shop area garage use. Double-backed tape squares and plastic clips not adequate in intense summer heat. Deterioration of tape and clips on garage doors facing east and south will be rapid. I secured the panels with 16-gauge galvanized wire. Black privacy film necessary for row of windows across the top to hide pink.

We installed these a few years ago. They insulate but the panels do bot stay put. We had to use copious amounts of tap and even screwed slates over some of the panels to hold them in place. Now we are constantly having to re-tape to keep them in place but the heat now is causing the tape to cone loose and the panels are falling out. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME

Thought it was great at first. Fairly easy to install. But over the first 2 weeks the clips that hold it up are no longer holding. The panels are sagging and hanging. Not happy. The clips need to connect tighter.

State: Florida, I purchased white gorilla tape to match the garage and hold insulation. My garage door is not "square(s)" like garage door, it has long panels (see picture). My picture shows that it looks good. As Spring and warm weather approached, the tape and 3M glue squares started to heat up and the insulation fell off. Also, the clips that hold the insulation to the door do almost nothing to hold. Wasted $200 on a product that lost to gravity (garage door opens, clips fall off) and heat.

This kit worked perfectly. I added a zip tie to each plastic retainer.

Just what I needed all in one box. Easy system to install. Cuts easily with scissors and I believe it's a bit warmer now in the garage. Came with exact number of panels, retainers, and even a set of rubber gloves.

I chose this product because of the higher R value than other products. I installed it per the instructions which were printed on the box. DOH! The plastic clips to install were 2 per panel. Needs about 6 per panel to be really secure. Some buyers noted that they had to use white Gorilla tape to complete the install. I went with wire and small truss screws instead. Now the panels are secure and I'm ready to see if it helps in the winter as well as the summer.

Nice product and does the job.

The insulation is good, easy to install. The covering is modestly durable and better than non backed or craft paper backed, might suggest foil back though. The clips are garbage, absolutely worthless. If you buy this get a roll of gorilla tape per door. The clips stick to the door if you prep well but they don’t lock into themselves at all. This lets them fall out and don’t hold insulation in place. So close yet so far.

Disappointing product. The retainer clips don't retain. You can apply zip ties to fix this. Next, the surface has several tears out of the box. They include patches for this. Finally, the insulation won't tuck well. You have to really play with it. Also, you need to use white gorilla tape on edges that you can't tuck under for retention and appearance. On the plus size, it does insulate well, quiets some of the noise from outside as well as the door itself, and doesn't add much mass to the door.

Easy to install, looks good, and helps a ton with keeping the garage cool.

each piece was a different length and didn't fit. I'm not happy spending this much money and it not fit.

Great product, easy to install and temperature changes almost immediately after installed. I wish they would sell a package with 10 panels though.

I have been wanting to insulate my garage door because the afternoon sun faces it and it gets up to a hundred and seven in my garage, I found this and decided to try it out and it works great. Super easy to put up, the panels are pre-cut all I had to do was trim to length. It took no time at all and it also quiets down the street noise.

Overall I'm very happy with this product. It was very straightforward to install and came out looking like I wanted.

Makes garage doors operate much quieter. Very good sound barrier. Hopefully it will reduce garage temperatures on hot summer day.

Very easy install only took about 45 minutes for a 16 foot door

Excellent product insulated the garage door perfectly. Required two of these form my garage door. 16 panels total. Would highly recommend getting white gorilla tape, as some garage door areas did not have cavities for the insulation.

The Central Florida heat made my garage unbearably hot. Because I have a 2 car garage I purchased two insulation kits. The delivery was prompt and the price was right. Instructions were clear, but life is often wrinkled. You are to tuck the insulation into the garage door panel crevices. However, my garage door was missing a crevice on one side of every door panel. So, based on another blog, purchased roofing aluminum L strips at Home Depot, cut them to size and attached them to the offending side with short bolts and nuts. I used the existing holes on the garage panel and drilled holes on the strips to align. The instructions say to cut the insulation panels a half inch longer. instead I did not cut, I used the remaining few inches and rolled it as I tucked it into the crevices allowing the stress of the rolled insulation to secure it in place, and there was no waste. Am very proud of the end result.

Installed November 2020. Product was delivered much quicker and in better condition than expected which was a pleasant surprise. The product itself is pretty much as advertised. Takes longer to install than indicated. Most things usually do the first time out. There are 2 clips per panel when I think 4 would be ideal. The clips are made of plastic. The added cost would probably be minimal to both the manufacturer and consumer. Also, the 22" height conformed to 4 out of 8 door panels. The other 4 being less than 22" required cuts. No problem. Another inch of insulation (23"), however, in terms of height would have allowed for a better fit and snugness on the remaining four panels. Overall though, definitely satisfied with the product and have already recommended it to a few friends.

Yes it’s a great product

This product should be 5 stars but due to poor quality control I give it 4 stars. I had pieces that were different thickness. Also the biggest issue for me was white backing was shorter than it should be and the pink insulation was visible. I ended up using tape to cover it. Regardless, I recommend it as it was easy to install and it did the job

Worked perfectly! Comes with fairly small rubber gloves. Not required but I will cut cardboard to hold insulation in a bit better.

I have a full-size 2-car garage, so I used 2 kits to do the entire door. Installation was easy and the instructions were straightforward. It has been in place for a month now with no drooping or loose pieces. I have noticed a significant 12-15 degree F difference in temperature between the garage and outdoors, so it looks like the kits are doing their job. I recommend making the panels about 1/2" longer and wider than the target space so they stay snug to the edges. Some of the door panels did not have a sill or lip on one side to tuck the insulation under, so I used a strip of duct tape to prevent drooping. Excellent product; worth the investment!

I've done two garage doors with this. Both single car metal garage doors. Easy to install in under an hour. During the summer it drops the temperature in the garage by about 15 degrees. In the winter it warms it up by about 5 degrees. And that's without any supplemental heating or cooling. It's easy to install without any cutting. That is, unless there's been some modification to your garage door because someone (who will remain nameless) backed into the door. I would recommend getting some foil tape for spots where you are unable to "tuck" the insulation into the panel lips.
