This will do the job if you're looking for a simple dive-in mailbox post. However, adjust when installing on dry/hard ground. The bottom post was able to work its way through the pounding block before it was no more than 6 inches in the ground. I was able to improvise to get it a few more inches down, and thanks to the height flexibility of the cross-arm, I could adjust the height of my mailbox to be USPS compliant. All in all, it requires some manual labor but does the job.

I thought it was one piece but it’s three separate pieces.

I was looking for an affordable post that I, a 56 yr old woman, could install on my own - after a car wreck took out my old mailbox. This was PERFECT!!! It assembles easily and pounds into the ground easily also. NO messy concrete is needed. It looks great, and i am so happy with it. It feels super sturdy when i open and close the mailbox, just as sturdy as if it had concrete holding it. Awesome product I highly reccommend!!!

This was so simple to put up. Cheap enough to replace also, if another snowplow hits it. I love the adjustable height also. It comes with a solid plastic block to hit on, when hammering it into the ground. I highly recommend it!!!

I had the same post already, but the first only lasted about 3 years,the bracket rusted off. The post was still good, all I needed was the bracket but you can't buy parts separate, and its still winter I i wasn't driving anything in the ground I had to buy the whole thing. This summer I will be replacing it with something made a lot better.

Installation was fairly easy. The “sharp” (angle-cut) end was easy to drive into the ground. The mounting hardware was a bit awkward to assemble onto the box (which might be unavoidable since the post could accommodate several models of boxes with differing mounting holes). My complaint (and the reason for the review coming a few years after installation) is that the angled arm that supports the box broke off (dropping the box to the ground) when retrieving the mail after only 3 years of service. It was plain to see that the black paint (applied by the factory) provided insufficient protection from water and the parts rusted until they could no longer take the load. Now we may have to wait several days to discover how much we won in the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. The box was installed roadside in eastern Massachusetts and was exposed to a modest amount of road salting during 3 winters. However, I think it is reasonable to expect considerably more than 3 years of service from a product of this price. It did look fine and work well until it broke, and it might well survive a lot longer in an arid climate (or at least where no salting is applied in the vicinity). Good luck! :-)

Easy product to assemble and install.

This mailbox and post were a replacement for a mailbox that had been hit by a trailer. It was easy to install with good instructions.

Very sturdy and pleased with product.

The post is sturdy in it's construction, in putting it together. However, the plastic piece used to help hammer the post into the ground is not nearly strong enough to use for that purpose. My ground is very hard, so in the process of hammering it in, the plastic piece broke down. Also, it is hard to keep it in place as you hammer. Would suggest a harder plastic with better design.

It was very substantial, and it was very easy to put together. I am an older female, and I have never put in a mailbox before and I have to say it was much easier than I thought it was going to be??

Works as advertised. The only issue I had was getting the post to remain vertical as it was pounded into the ground. I also added stabilizing supports on opposite sides to secure the post.

Made strong and easy to install.

The directions and the hardware including plastic cap was missing from the box. Had to buy all the hardware from a local store because it wasn’t worth driving all the way back. A bit disappointing. The assembly was easy once I had all the parts.

We replaced our mailbox because the Woden post rotted out. We love the sturdy metal posts and they look wonderful. Easy to mount large mailboxes and cement into the ground.
