AnswersNot sure why they say use only with smaller boxes. It has adjustable hardware to fit a couple of different sizes. I even used it with what Gibraltar size D; just had to drill additional holes in the side of the box. It has been in place for six months and is doing fine.
Is it possible to purchase an additional top cap for the post?

AnswersWe contacted the manufacturer and they were nice enough to send us a cap for free. We had a solar light that matched and fit perfectly behind the box on the post by attaching it to the cap.

AnswersIt was supposed to but it didn't! None of the holes lined up properly and New ones finally needed to be drilled. We made it work, but it definitely was not the easy installation they promised!

AnswersThe post comes in two pieces. Each are 2-1/4 inches square. The bottom piece is about 26 inches from the pointed end to where the top post sits when attached to the bottom. The top piece is 30-3/4 inches long.

I love the adjustable height also. It comes with a solid plastic block to hit on, when hammering it into the ground.
I highly recommend it!!!

I had the same post already, but the first only lasted about 3 years,the bracket rusted off. The post was still good, all I needed was the bracket but you can't buy parts separate, and its still winter I i wasn't driving anything in the ground I had to buy the whole thing. This summer I will be replacing it with something made a lot better.

Installation was fairly easy. The “sharp” (angle-cut) end was easy to drive into the ground. The mounting hardware was a bit awkward to assemble onto the box (which might be unavoidable since the post could accommodate several models of boxes with differing mounting holes).
My complaint (and the reason for the review coming a few years after installation) is that the angled arm that supports the box broke off (dropping the box to the ground) when retrieving the mail after only 3 years of service. It was plain to see that the black paint (applied by the factory) provided insufficient protection from water and the parts rusted until they could no longer take the load. Now we may have to wait several days to discover how much we won in the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes.
The box was installed roadside in eastern Massachusetts and was exposed to a modest amount of road salting during 3 winters. However, I think it is reasonable to expect considerably more than 3 years of service from a product of this price. It did look fine and work well until it broke, and it might well survive a lot longer in an arid climate (or at least where no salting is applied in the vicinity). Good luck! :-)
