It works really well to remove odor and sediments in my water.

Works great and remove sediments. Usually I replace filter every four months. If not replaced the pressure of water will drop.

This product is excellent.

I'm pleased that my eyes no longer sting in the shower, my drinking water tastes better, and that my filters are lasting longer than the predicted six months.

I ordered couple of cartridges to change every 6 month. First cartridge worked just fine, but not the second ! It contaminated the water with the charcoal, exactly the water it was supposed to filter. We noticed it as the white linens came out laundered dirty, soiled with the charcoal. I don't know at this point how I will clean out house from this failure. Horrible product !

For years we used a simple cannister filter system with simple replacement filters which cost $5-$8 each and lasted 3 months. We never lost pressure. In June 2016 we purchased the HDGEFS4 system because we thought we should upgrade. We bought it because it was much easier to switch out the replacement filters without having to shut off the water supply. The replacement cartridges (HDGEFF4) for the new system cost $52.46 each but are supposed to last 6 months. The first one lasted 2 months (which was disappointing but there was a water problem in our neighborhood - so we put it down to that). The next 4 replacements lasted 6-7 months which was great. Then 1.5 months, then 1 month. We installed the last one on Jan 8, 2019 and removed it after 2 weeks due to grime in our toilets and low water pressure. Since Oct 2018 we lost water pressure 2-3 weeks after changing the filter - really low water pressure which interfered with flushing toilets and running showers. We also started to get black grime/residue in the toilet tanks which eventually reached into the toilet bowls. Our neighbors did not experience this problem - so we attribute it to the filter system rather than to a change in the water supply. The grime stopped and the water pressure returned to normal each time we changed the filter - but this lasted for 2-3 weeks. I'm writing this March 21, 2019 and we've been operating without a filter since early February. Water pressure is fine and grime has not returned. From the reviews it looks like many other customers have the grime and water pressure problem. We don't know what to do. We paid for the new system and paid our plumber to install it. I notice that Home Depot no longer sells the system. HD stopped stocking the replacement filters in stores around Nov 2016. Is there a flaw with the filters produced in 2018? Because you can't see inside the replacement filters you can't see if something is wrong with the filter before you set it in. We have 3 unused filters left and are hesitant to use them. Does Home Depot have a replacement solution? We'd like to return the system and the unused filters to Home Depot and start with a new system - or go back to the simpler, cheaper cannister filter we had before. Please contact me to discuss.
