We already owned a Google Max and a couple Google Minis. These speakers are a great balance in between. They are larger than the mini and have great range of sound (depth / range plus volume), but they are smaller than the Max and easier to place around the house. Adding them to the Home was a snap, and creating speaker groups took about a minute. Definitely worth the expense if you're looking to add audio throughout the home.

Holds Back Functions Unless You Pay a Subscription
Audio quality is fine and basic smart home function is good. But I don't like how it refuses to do certain things without a YouTube Music Premium subscription. It won't listen to any voice commands to play my playlists, even if the playlists are entirely composed my own purchased and uploaded songs. I can play the playlists from my phone through Bluetooth, but I've encountered some minor glitches doing this. And if I need to manually connect that way, I'd be better of with a cheaper Bluetooth speaker than the more expensive smart speaker. Restricting how I play the songs I own is really frustrating. I don't like the movement away from any sense of ownership and toward subscription services.

Hi Mike, thanks for reaching out to our support team. We're sorry to hear about the poor experience you're having with YouTube Premium and Nest Audio.
For the best experience when listening to your favorite music, we recommend getting an active subscription of YouTube Premium. Also, if you haven't tried yet, performing a factory data reset on Nest Audio can be helpful with the issue. Keep in mind that this will erase all data and that you may need to set it up again. To reset, check on the back of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.
Ithe issue you shared with us persists, we recommend contacting our support team here:

Good sound, wireless is nice
Sound is great, but I wanted to use them as stereo speakers wirelessly for my Google Chromecast, paired up with YouTube TV. It didn't work.....Not at all. Music sounds great, audio clarity is top notch. But to use them with a Chromecast (Google stated they would provide this feature a year ago, it never happened) But man I was bummed when they didn't work as Google said they would. I ended up getting a refund.

Excellent Audio experience!
This device had long been on my wish list and I recently decided to get two of them for a more immersive Audio experience. I am so happy I did, the sound is so crisp and clear, deep bass, and overall very rich quality. My partner and I are loving them and we have basically replaced the TV sound bar since we feel the Nest Audio sound is more crisp than our Samsung sound bar that we love.

Great little speaker
I'm a huge fan of the Home Max. The Nest is about 85% of the way there. Great sound, good volume but needing a touch more bass/depth. If they could cut the Home Max in half and sell that, it would be the perfect speaker.

Not what I was hoping for
I bought two Nest Audio speakers to upgrade the audio on my TV that gets its signals from a Chromecast. I created a group with the Chromecast and the two speakers, and assigned that group to the audio setting in Home on the Chromecast, per Google's support pages. Alas, no sound comes out of the Nest speakers. The combination is an abject failure. On the bright side, the speakers do work like overgrown Minis, and can stream my favorite radio station when we aren't watching TV.

Easy way to add audio to my kitchen
I have used small Bluetooth speakers for years in parts of my house beyond the listening area of my main stereo, but I wanted something better that would integrate with my the rest of my google home devices. I bought 2 nest audio to play as a pair in my kitchen. I’m impressed with the audio quality. There is a surprising amount of bass for such a small speaker.

Great sound. One wish.
Love the rich, clear, sound. But, my hearing is not the best so, pretty often, I can't hear the answer to our queries. I wish we could set a minimum volume and then have the speakers continuously monitor the ambient noise level and then speak its answers/replies at a user-defined percentage setting above the current ambient noise level. That would REALLY help people with hearing problems.

It's not surround sound.
I wanted to give this a 1 because i only bought it to replace our Sonos. However, it doesn't work with TVs, so... I now have a Hub Max, 2 speakers and another mini that went do what I want and are basically useless. What can it do? Play YouTube music and Spotify. The selection off music appsv sucks. It does control them volume on our Sonos, but that's about it. Otherwise there Max is a glorified photo frame and the speakers aren't really used. It loses connection between the group to often and i just end up using what we already have. The sound is good though, and i think if you want to just have music throughout the house then it's probably great. They just need to give a way to play audio from XBox or a TV for me to say it's worth the investment.

Hi Feetait, thanks for sharing your experience. It’s unfortunate to hear that Nest Audio didn’t meet your expectations.
For connectivity issue, it may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings.
You may try doing the following:
-Restart your Wi-Fi router. Unplug the router from the power outlet, wait at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Make sure that the firmware and app is updated.
- Reset your Nest Audio to factory defaults.
Your feedback is important to us, and we’d like to help you the best way possible. If you’re willing, please reach out to our support team, so we can take a closer look at your device. We’re hoping that you’ll give Nest Audio another chance to improve your experience here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

I would not recommend this product due it its issues with, Bluetooth keeps disconnecting and every time it does, you have to power cycle. And once you finally get it to connect, it disconnects after few minutes. There are tons of people having same issue and Google has not addressed this issue.

Worth it
Excellent sound quality and the ability to pair two together in the same room to listen in stereo sound is a great benefit. I love that I have quality sound within a smart speaker system I utilize throughout my home. I only wish there was an option to pair with our soundbar to add additional sound to our room when watching tv and movies.

Paired functionality glitchy
I have 3 nest audio speakers. Individually they are a great product, great sound. However, they don't work well as soon as you put them in a speaker group. You get long and interrupting buffering times while you're listening to music. In addition, when you pair that speaker group to a Chromecast using Bluetooth the TV only plays audio from a single speaker. It's frustrating to say the least.

Hi Felbjorne, thanks for being an advocate of our Google Nest products. We´re sorry to hear that they don't work well, and that you are experiencing buffering when you listen to music and that issues with the speaker group.
A good step would be to perform a factory data reset on Nest Audio. You may need to set it up again since resetting will erase all data. To reset, check on the back of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange. Press and hold the center of the Nest Audio, near the top. Needs improvement; sound is good.
If I say: 1973 RS Brussels LL then my album should come on, but an album from their database comes on. Silent pauses between songs on a live album sound terrible. Sometimes you need to shout at the microphone. Sounds good though.
