Henry Roof Coating
I am using this coating for water its sealing properties. Time will tell if it works. Went on fairly easily with a paint roller. The only problem I had was Home Depot would not shake the cans. Because of the chemicals in the coating. The cans must have been in Home Depot for awhile. There are large lumps that were like heavy mud inside the can. Had to buy a paint stirrer that goes into a drill. Even then it took awhile to stir it smooth.

telorbit, Henry 555 Fibered Aluminum is a great roof coating that can seal pinholes and hairline cracks. It is not meant to stop large leaks. Henry 555 is made of asphalt and aluminum paste suspended in a solvent system. The paste can settle in transit and must be mixed and it is best to use a paddle and a drill. Henry 555 should be applied with a roofing brush or 3-knott brush in order to push the product into the tiny cracks on the roof. We do not recommend using a roller with Henry 555. NOT 5 Gallons in a 5 Gallon bucket
Like many companies, Henry puts less product in the package. In the past 5 gallons was enough to complete my roof. This time i didn’t check the amount so i ran out with a space the size of my dining room table to go. Still a 5 gallon bucket but it is missing a quart. Another trip to HD to buy a gallon… oh wait… 0.9 gallons. What an environmental mess. Two trips to HD and another container that cannot be recycled. Geez whiz, make it a full 5 gallons and charge me $5 more. Ah yes… the actual coating is awesome.

NotFullTom, in these days of people combating inflation it is a normal thing to be upset about the content of product being less than before. However, Henry 5 gallons buckets have had a stated content of material of 4.75 gallons for at least the last 16 years. We always err on the side of caution and state 4.75 gallons when there may be more material in the bucket. We have not reduced the size or content of product in our buckets because of inflation. Henry 555 is an easy stir formula that should be applied with a roof brush in order to make sure it gets into all of the little cracks and pinholes on the roof surface. I really like this paint. Mixed it up and put...
I really like this paint. Mixed it up and put it on with a big paint brush I had laying around. I did a 42 X 12 foot roof X 2 . Each side took 3 hours and 5 gallons each side. Seems to really be quality paint. Its a little more white than I thought but am sure it will fade with time. Needed a paint drill to mix it up.

contents in the bucket are not useable without grinding the product. secondly, it is not even useable without adding a gallon of paint thinner.l simply do not recommend this product to anyone to use for roofing purpose.

Hello, we do highly recommend using a drill with a paddle/mixer attachment as the aluminum settles at the bottom of the pail. We also do not recommend adding anything to the product to thin it, as it may affect the quality of the material. Thanks for putting your trust in Henry and Home Depot.

Very good for leak prevention
Works well, been using this for over 20 years on a part of our roof that is prone to leaks. As long as we keep applying this aluminum paint every other year the roof maintains it's integrity.

Fireball, it is nice to see that you are happy with Henry 555 Fibered Aluminum roof coating. We always recommend using a roof brush or 3-knot brush to apply a fibered aluminum coating. Using a medium bristle brush allows you to work the coating into the small cracks and small pinholes. Rolling the product on can cover the surface well but sometimes does not drive the product into the microcracks and tiny seams. Thank you for putting your trust in the Henry Co and the Home Depot.

Used it to cover small nail holes in old roofing...
Used it to cover small nail holes in old roofing shingles. Worked out Very Well. I covered the whole roof to prevent any water leaks. Brushes on very easy.

Speedy Steve, we are happy that Henry 555 Fibered Aluminum worked out well for you. Henry 555 is usually not used as a leak stopper but as a roof coating. Generally when you have holes, splits, cracks on a roof you should use a thick product such as 208R or 209XR for those situations. Henry 555 is a roof coating that is made to protect flat roof surfaces and applies easily to mineral surface roll roofing, torch down or metal roofs. It is usually not recommended to shingles.
