Don’t buy this. It’s not reliable. The deep freezer fails to stay cool and breaks every year and a half. The warranty is worthless and doesn’t cover anything. Don’t buy.

I bought and installed on 4/8/22. Works great. It was my back up when my new Samsung fridge gave out after 72hrs. Big enough and hasn't let me down. Hope it continues to work for many years. The last one I had was from an older 1970s home. Same brand. Sold it and my client still has it going strong. I ended uo buying exactly same brand and size for my new home. It holds all my extra meals and larger packages that simply don't fit In the regular kitchen freezer. D ,

I cook meals for a local transition home, and the new Hot Point freezer has helped me so much with meal prep and storage, Best product I have bought all year long!

I bought this 2 months ago and luv it. I store my extra food ie grass fed meat and seafood.

About 2 months ago, our last deep freeze, froze its last freeze. About a week later, we discovered where the smell was coming from. Needless to say, we got rid of it as fast as we could. 2 weeks ago, the wife and I went price and model comparing. For the size, the price was just right and the energy savings, I feel met the size and the price. This little beauty found a new home.

I bought this Hotpoint chest freezer to replace one I had for 15+ years. I plugged the new Hotpoint in and once it got cold, I filled it about halfway with frozen foods over the next few months. Exactly a year and a half later, I went to take out some ice cream and when I opened the chest I noticed the inside wasn't very cold. The ice cream was completely melted and I could could smell food was defrosted and going bad. However, the green power light was still on. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. The green "on" button went off and back on like it was working. It never got cold again. The chest and about $300 worth of food was a total loss. The chest still looked like new and I still had the new appliance stickers on the outside. I learned through my later research that Hotpoint is manufactured by GE -- built to fail (need I say more). The back plate says Made in China. The manufacturer's warranty is 12 months. I have replaced it with a Frigidaire model (Made in the USA) to be delivered next week. All I can say is beware Hotpoint.

Have had this freezer for about 2 weeks and it has not disappointed. Easy to install and clean. Got cold quickly and is stocked with food already.

This freezer works great. Excellent storage space.

We easily moved this freezer down a flight of steps and into our basement. Nice size and food is doing well in it.

The courteous and professional delivery team unboxed it, placed it carefully in my basement, plugged it up and that was that!! The freezer is the perfect size, runs quietly and freezes very nicely. Very happy with the purchase.

I wanted to get a freezer that would work well for us to keep some stuff in reserve since our freezer in our main refrigerator is tiny. The hotpoint is excellent. It got down to temp quickly and is really silent. We have it in our basement,but even when it was running for the first time and I was right next to it, you could barely hear it. Can't wait to fill it with everything we need for this winter.

Always wanted a freezer, but they are too large. This freezer is perfect for a small family or single person. Roomy and stylish at the same time.

Great freezer exactly what I wanted. It's the perfect size for 1 or 2 people!

I am thrilled with this little freezer, it's only my husband and myself so we didn't want a big freezer, just a little more then what the refrigerators freezer had. This works out perfectly, now I can stock up on some items but not waste floor space and electricity with something bigger than we need.

One of the best purchases I've made of late. I only have one regret, I wish I bought something with more baskets inside. But I would definitely recommend it. Bonus, its made by GE.

I am very impressed with this freezer! It is the perfect size and it will hold more than I expected. The design is sleek and just the perfect size for my garage. I am extrememely happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

This Hotpoint 7.1 CD chest freezer exceeded my expectations. It is small enough to fit anywhere yet has plenty of space inside for A LOT of food items. Delivery was prompt. It reached zero degrees 3 hours after initial plug in. Super quiet, I dont here it running at all. I had quite a wait for it to come into stock during this pandemic. I recomend to keep checking weekly for availability because they go out of stock in a matter of days.

Got this to help keep more food in the apt while pandemic n NYC. Great for small Apt pretty big for us. Just got it today let’s see how it goes.

It was delivered early and set up as I needed. The freezer itself has been great. Awesome buy and the price was reasonable!

Hotpoint 3.6 CU. FT. Manual Defrost Type Chest Freezer/White I’ve had this freezer for a little over a week and so far very pleased. It is quite small but a great size for two people. It is also very lightweight and moves easily. There is a temperature control selector on the lower right hand corner and a green power indicator light as well. Since this is a manual defrost i would have to move it outside which is ok since it’s so easy to move.I have limited space so I put in in our office. It is very quiet. It does make a slight whistling sound after you’ve opened and shut the lid. It doesn’t have a tight suction like I remember freezers having but seems to be performing well. I would recommend this freezer for very small families especially if you don’t have a bigger refrigerator w/ freezer.

Good size chest freezer for extra storage. We have been short on freezer space for quite a while, especially since I have a number of long term storage items in the freezer (I am really into vacuum packing: vacuum packed meals, meats, bulk frozen foods, etc), some of which are a little bulky and don’t fit well in the space. To alleviate this I finally decided to pick up this Hotpoint 3.6 cu ft chest freezer, and am glad I did. It has a small footprint for my garage yet can store a surprising amount of food items. The freezer is very quiet and reaches temperature quickly and holds it very nicely; its energy efficiency cost of about $23/year is also a great bonus. The only drawback I have found is the drain spout is very close to the floor and while I have not used it yet, I anticipate it will be a problem getting something under it to collect the water as it drains (I actually built a small platform under the unit to elevate it to keep it off the floor and to help with this potential issue). Overall a good choice for an extra freezer for storage.

Wife told me that she didn't want a freezer in her house it must go into the garage. So cleaned up and made a space for it. Once it arrived and she saw how small and quite it was she decided it would go into the house, she calls it cute. So as shown below the Ice chest is in the house and it is so quite we don't even realise it is there. I got it because she likes frozen vegtiables and I can only buy so many or my refrigerator freezer was stuffed. Even this one is more then we need were old and just the two of us. So next time I go shopping we can load it up.

Simple, basic, effective freezer. The Hotpoint 7.1 Cu. Ft. Manual Defrost Chest Freezer (Model # HCM7SMWW) is a great way to add capacity in a convenient size and at a reasonable price. The exterior dimensions aren’t much bigger than the 5.0 cu ft model, but it has noticeably more storage space. The inside dimensions (refer to pic of the interior): - 15” front to back - 27.5” deep, except over the compressor, which is only 19” deep - 31.25” wide, except at the bottom right, which is only 23.75” It includes one basket which is 15” long x 8” wide x 6.5” deep Very little setup is required - adjust the legs, ensure it’s level, and plug it in. It cooled down very quickly; I set the thermostat to “4” (see pic) and it was down to zero degrees in about an hour. As noted in the name this freezer will periodically require manual defrosting. This will probably be more frequent in a humid location. But it’s easy to do: After unloading and allowing to come to room temperature just remove the plug on the bottom of the inside, and open the drain on the outside front.

If you're looking for an economical chest freezer, the Hotpoint 7.1 Cu. Ft. manual defrost chest freezer by GE should be on your shopping list. It's clean lines inside and out will make it easy to clean. It is cheap to operate, rated at $30 a year. The unit is very quiet and comes from the factory pre-set at zero degrees F. It wide enough for those large pizzas and also comes with one removable basket. Manual defrost is simple with a front located drain plug. There is a power on indicator light in the lower right front corner. All in all a great unit and one we're proud to own.

Good, basic deep freezer. Not the fanciest model money can buy but gets the job done. Its a nice size for two people, but the space would be tight for a bigger family. The biggest con of this model is it's a manual defrost, so at some point you'll have to thaw and clean out the freezer. That said, for the price its hard to argue with what you get. I would buy again.

The delivery company called ahead of time to verify delivery date, and time. The delivery men did a great job. They even offered to unpack the Hotpoint 3.6 cu ft Manual Defrost Freezer for us. This is a nice little compact freezer, 33 1/4 H x 22 1/2 W x 21 5/8 D, and Interior measures 27 1/4 H X 17 1/8 W X 15 3/8 D. It is the perfect size for our overflow items from our fridge/freezer. The directions suggest to turn the temp to #4, and give it 6-8 hours to cool before filling. I turned mine to 5 1/2, after 1 hour my thermometer read -10. I still waited 6 hours before filling. I packed it with over 53# of various meats, and I still had room for more. I filled the sliding basket with some miscellaneous items. The sliding basket helps to individualize the unit to each purchasers use/needs, or just remove it completely. The unit weighs 58# and is easy to move around. It has recessed handles on the sides of the lid. The air vent is on the right side instead of the back. I thought that was a unique feature. So, even with this pushed against the wall, the vent will not be blocked. There is no noise coming from this freezer. It is so quite, the only way to know it is in the house is to see it in the room. It does come with a small spatula to use with defrosting. I used that to turn the temp slot. The temp slot was hard for me to turn. The slot could be deeper, at least on one end. I recommend reading the Owner's Manual prior to use. There are specific directions for temp adjustments,defrosting, care, and overall feature functions.This is an impressive little freezer. We are extremely happy with this product.
