Worked great until it didn't
Not serviceable in my area, something to do with the cooling fluid in this unit. I bought the extended warranty and I suggest you do too. It died exactly 3 months after the manufacturers warranty was up. Not sure I'm going to buy another Hotpoint.

Sufficient for our needs
Have had the freezer chest for a few weeks and so far so good. Purchased additional trays. Freezer had only tray. Would have preferred a light on the inside.

Excellent freezer
Never had a chest freezer. Did homework, and got this. Didn't need a large freezer, and this fit perfectly in the space I had. I now had this freezer for 1yr and 6 months, and it still doesn't need to be defrosted. Love this thing. I would buy again...

Product Failure... Made in China
Bought this because of it's size after 14 month the product failed. I went to remove something from the freezer and all the contents were defrosting. Lost alot of product due to failure I would not buy this freezer again.

Perfect freezer for our fresh cut beef
We needed a good chest freezer for 120 pounds of fresh processed beef. This 7.1 cu ft freezer is perfect. We can store our our fresh meet and additional frozen products that overflow from our refrigerator/freezer. The unit is energy efficient and the lid is easy to open and close when your hands are full of frozen items.

Do not buy this piece of @#!!
This is my 2nd one in three years. Both lasted about a year and a half.
What’s worse, I lost way more than the value of the freezer in contents both times.
I figured the first failure was just a fluke….not so!!

Complicated
I bought this and had it installed on 11-26-20. And it stopped cooling about 3 weeks before the 1 year warranty expired. The repair man said these freezers don't have parts to repair the possible damage, and they don't make them easy enough to open and service, so the best option was to just replace or refund. The next day it started working again, so it may have needed rebooted or it could have been a frozen component, either way, I don't trust it! I lost a lot of money in food and I just don't trust these freezers anymore.

Easy peasy food storage
The small freezer hardly takes up any room at all set up instantly plug it in and it’s ready to go. As with all chest freezers you have to be careful a frost that just means don’t leave it standing open take care of it and it will take care of you.

Major failure just out of warranty
Just like a typical GE appliance, the compressor failed just outside the one year warranty and now it’s in the junk pile. Also lost a few hundred dollars of hard to find frozen goods. Will never buy this brand or GE again!

I purchased my hotpoint freezer about a month ago I’m very happy with it it fits just right into where I wanted to put it and it’s a lot of extra freezer space for me. I stay in a apartment and it is the perfect size

Nice size, dismal customer service via GE/Hotpoint help line
Nice size, doesnt take too much space yet it holds quite a bit. The "on/off/temp switch" is very cheap and hard to set. I tried a coin, a screwdriver and couldnt get it to turn. Contacted Hotpoint service line for help (over 3 weeks ago). After 30 min wait to talk to a customer service rep and offered "use a coin/screwdriver" was told theyd have to have a service person call me. I still have not received that call back. Funny, the issue was it needed to be turned counterclockwise! Wish that little tidbit had been in the manual.
Not that its on and working, its been a great addition. Having to buy meats in larger packages, or being able to take advantage of "buy one, get one " sales is budget friendly.

Garbage!!
Only worked for 18 months then the compressor locked up. Now it’s junk and a waste of $300. Buy something else!
