We have had several Hunter ceiling fans that have been great quality and this one is no different. Loved that it could be used in our covered patio. We are very happy with this fan.

Easy to install and works as expected.

I installed this in a basement bedroom with limited clearance so we were looking for a low profile fan. To me, the installation and assembly was a little tricky but doable if you followed the instructions. I did not plan on using the remote and had wired two lines, one for the fan, one for the light, to the box. The default speed of the fan is high so I had to wire in the remote so we could control the fan speed. The remote in the fan does remember the prior setting so when you turn on the power from a wall switch to the fan it returns to it's prior state. It does not have any chains hanging down and you have to remove the glass light cover to access the reverse switch to change between seasons. The cover twists on so it is easy to access. We are very happy with this fan.

Kitchens can be hot in the summer so I wasn't surprised when my wife asked for a fan. After installing a Hunter in our home office, our choice was clear. We picked Hunter again because they have a ton of choices (see the Home Depot website) and because they have never let me down. My wife loves the look of this Dempsey model because it blends so well with our colors. This fan arrived in perfect condition and with easy to follow instructions. This fan comes with a remote control so my short wife can make easy adjustments for the three fan speeds and to dim the LED lights. The box says it is rated for damp locations in case the kitchen (or bathroom) gets steamy. The motor comes with a lifetime warranty and reversible blades. (See picture below) The only reason I gave it four stars for installation was that the wires from the fan motor were very short. The instructions said they can be trimmed to 8 inches long but ours were about four inches from the factory. (the only time this happened in 6 fans) Still usable but slowed things way down. The only tip I can offer is to try the fan blades screws in the motor mounts to be sure they go in easily. (do this before you install the fan) I highly recommend this fan to all and suggest you go on the Home Depot website to see all the choices from Hunter. You will be glad you did.

  The HUNTER DEMPSEY 44 IN. INDOOR/OUTDOOR MATTE BLACK LED LOW PROFILE CEILING FAN WITH LIGHT KIT AND REMOTE CONTROL is a good looking fan.  Installation was simple.  The instructions were easy to read and follow.  It took about 30 minutes to hang the fan.  The frame and fan blades are black matte finish on one side and reddish wood on the other.  The remote can be mounted over the light switch to the wall plate so you know where the remote is.  Nice fan.

This is my very first Hunter branded ceiling fan and installation is quite different from other less expensive ceiling fans. First of all, this 44-inch fan is unbelievably heavy and prior to the installation you must insure the ceiling junction box is reinforced and braced properly. This is to insure the fan will not pull off from the ceiling joists. Everything is supplied including the remote leaving just a assistant to help in the installation. Be sure and have electrical tape as I use it to tape off and insulted the wire top hats. Very attractive ceiling hugger for low hung ceilings. Quality in manufacturing throughout.

My review is of the Hunter Dempsey 44” LED low profile ceiling fan with remote control. Whisper quite operation. The remote is simple to use and comfortable to hold. The remote has 4 fan control buttons (one for each of the 3 speeds and off) and 1 button for the light. It comes with a wall mountable bracket to hold the remote control. Reversing the fan is done via a switch under the glass globe covering the light bulbs. The light uses 2 standard sized socket light bulbs, the fan came with 2 LED bulbs. I'd like to say installation was simple but working over my head is always a bit of a challenge. A tip is to make sure when installing the blades that you pay attention to the angle of the mounting screws. They are go in at a slight angle. Attempting to put them in perpendicular to the floor can cause them to cross thread. The instruction manual that comes with the fan was not clear about this. The screws were packed in small plastic bags labeled with symbols. The manual explains what bag symbol is needed at each step. Very convenient. I really like the fan. It is much nicer than the one it replaced.

We got this fan for out roofed deck which is about 20 feet long so we would have air circulation on both ends. The nice thing was the nickel finish since it matched our current fan. The installation was a bit different since we could not use a down rod and the ceiling is slanted, however, Hunter does have on line instructions for dealing with such an installation. The fan works great and cools the area in the 90 degree heat we are having this august.

This is a low profile making it easier to install and use in lower spaces like covered porches. The fan blades plenty of air by design and unit comes with a separate remote allowing full control over Dan speed and lighting.

We have a small back porch area, so we wanted low profile, quiet, led light and remote control. This fan is perfect - we're well pleased. We had two wall switches controlling our old fan. The Hunter support service was great in answering our wiring questions.

I have been needing to replace our ceiling fan for quite some time and after careful consideration, I chose this one from a Dempsey And so far it has been great! The installation took about an hour by myself which isn't bad considering this is only the second fan I have installed. Note. This is an indoor and outdoor fan I chose to use it indoors. The Dempsey 44 in. This fan is a indoor/ outdoor fan so with the LED lighting was perfect. The assembly along with the installation was very easy. Love the matte black finish.

Very nice 44 inch, 4 blade white ceiling fan with almost all the options one would like in a ceiling fan. I said almost because this fan does not allow you to reverse the direction of the fan motor with the remote. I like the fan blowing the air up away from me, and my other half likes the fan blowing down. In order to reverse the direction you need to flip a switch on the fan motor, not even a pull chain! And to top it off, you will need to remove the glass globe in order to expose the direction selector switch. I would recommend this fan for a single person who can set the direction and not want to change it very often. It comes with a remote control, but the remote control module is not built in to the fan from the factory. You will need to wire it in as you assemble the fan. Not a big deal but I was surprised to see this. It does come with 2 LED light bulbs that are dimmable. The light is dimmed from the remote and they dim down to a very low illumination. Much better than other LED dimmable bulbs I’ve seen. It has a really nice feature, a Safe Exit Program which was not talked about in the manual. I stumbled upon it in my attempt to discover a way to reverse the motor direction from the remote. You hold down on the remote’s Fan Off button for 3 seconds, and the light will flash a few times. Then the light will remain on for 15 seconds and then reduce to zero in 5 more seconds. This gives you time to exit a room. This does not turn off the fan, only the light. The fan has 3 speeds and runs very quiet. The fan blades are reversible for either Fresh White, or a Blond Oak. The mounting plate has rubber feet on it to prevent any sound transmitting from the fan to the ceiling. This helps make for a very quiet running fan. Always make sure that the electrical box is installed correctly and rated for a ceiling fan installation. This fan took a bit more time to assemble than other fans. There were lots of steps which I feel should have been already assembled at the factory. I spent a lot of time attempting to balance the fan. I could not get it to run perfectly smooth. I had to settle for good enough. It is because of the balance, and the not being able to reverse the motor direction from the remote that I am only giving this fan a 3 star rating.

This is a great 44 inch LED low profile indoor/outdoor ceiling fan. It is very easy to install with the included hardware and great instructions. The bags of hardware each have a symbol and correspond to a step in the instructions. The base plate is attached to the ceiling bracket and then the partially assembled fan is attached to the base plate. The fan hooks onto the base plate and allows for the wiring to be completed easily. The fan blades are attached, the light brackets, the light cover and the install is complete. Very easy and great instructions. The supplied remote controls the fan and light but the directional switch is located on the inside of the light bracket, so set this switch before attaching the light cover. I like that the LED light uses screw in light bulbs that can be changing out in the future. This fans has a very strong air flow, three speeds but most importantly no wobble. The light is dimmable by holding down on the remote light button to adjust the brightness. Very pleased with the functionality, quality, look, and the ease of installation of this ceiling fan.

All seems to be in order with this ceiling fan. It was packed well for shipping and arrived in time and secure. As my maintenance guys has not installed this fan yet, I just have pictures of the items in the box. The box is a little heavy so the fan must be a little heavy too. There is a remote that seems to be working because a light came on when I took it from the box. The globe on the fan light is a frosty white and the fan itself is 44 inches and made for small rooms. I will be using 2 of these on my front porch.

Overall another quality product from Hunter. It was easy to install, roughly two hours for one person. I have installed many fans of all types over the years. Each one has its own quirks, so I recommend spending a good amount of time studying and understanding the complete installation instructions (start-to-finish) before beginning the physical install. On the plus side there was plenty of room in the fan housing to hold all the wiring and the remote transmitter (normally a very tight fit on other fans). This fan takes traditional screw-in bulbs. I say this because if there's any drawback, I find the light to be a little dim (with the included bulbs). I hope to solve that with a slightly brighter LED bulb. Also, the remote operation is very simple, three speeds (fine), and a light (ON/OFF). Personally I would like a light that dims, but that doesn't detract from the overall fan, just be aware of it. I installed it in a guest bedroom, so the quiet operation will be perfect in that situation.

I love ceiling fans. This hunter is wonderful! It’s sleek. I love the remote control. It’s in a small room and it’s just perfect. Comes with two blade choices fresh white or washed oak. The forty four inch is perfect for my smaller bedroom/ guest room. It has low profile mounting. The instructions were clear. It was a fast installation. It has a choice of 3 speeds

My existing patio fan was old and tired, rusting and needed to be replaced. I also wanted to find a more modern look to update the patio and switch to an LED light. The Hunter Dempsey 44 inch LED low profile indoor/outdoor ceiling fan was what I was looking for in a new fan/light. Plus it has a handy remote control, no more having to get up from the table to adjust the fan and/or light. I wanted to change to a low profile fan, as the existing fan would blow and spin around in storms. The Hunter Dempsey has a sleek look and is solidly mounted to the ceiling. I do have some suggestions on installing the fan. The directions are very good, however; I would suggest these tips to make your installation go smoother than mine did. I encountered several issues with binding fan blade screws that hold the fan blades to the motor housing. I would dry fit a screw in every fan blade mounting hole before hanging it from the ceiling. I needed to put a lot of force on several of the screws to get them to screw into the holes. Once I got the screw in and backed it out, it would screw in properly without binding up. Another tip is once you have the fan and light ready to test, you may need to pair the remote to the light using the provided instructions. We needed to pair the remote to get the light to work properly. By the way, the LED light does dim by depressing the remote light button and holding it down.

Who puts the reverse switch INSIDE the glass light? You have to take the glass cover off to reverse the fans! What an awful design! I thought it would be on the remote, but NO you CANNOT reverse the fan with the remote, you have to climb up and take off the light to switch it! Even a simple pull string would have been better. Hunter I thought better of you.

I had this installed by my electrician. Looks great is quiet and works like expected. My only complaint is the small screw in remote battery access

This ceiling fan functioned fine until just after the warranty expired and then the light started flickering. After trying to work with Hunter customer service (and paying an electrician to troubleshoot), I was told the problem must be the receiver, which is out of warranty, so I will need to spend more money on a new receiver and an electrician to replace the receiver for the light to function as it should. I will never buy another Hunter fan after this disappointing experience. Save yourself the time and money. Find another ceiling fan

Only complaint is that it is advertised as dimmable but the remote that comes with the fan is on/off only for the light.

This was easier to install than the indoor models.

Great fan, light bulbs are LED and rated at 60 watts,which are not to brite. Other then that great product.

Fans work good in a small area. If you put it on a ceiling more than 8 feet up, you may not feel it.

The fan looks nice but it barely moves the air. You can feel it some if you stand directly under it. I have it in a small space and you can barely notice any air movement, even when the fan is on the highest speed. I would not recommend it.
