I found these difficult to use, we had to apply way too much force to get them to close when pruning a small indoor evergreen. They might work well on something with straw stems like fresh flowers, but they were awful at pruning anything with enough meat to stand up on it's own. The blades were far too long and far too skinny. You get the most force when the cut happens near the joint in the blades... why did these need to be so long? I would recommend going with a set of standard bypass pruners, you'll be much happier.

The 6.5" HydroCrunch garden shears are perfect to cut flowers or herbs. The blades are stainless steel and honed to sharpness. These shears are excellent quality and well-made. I find the tab that releases the spring loaded shears open can be easily manipulated with a single hand. The size of the shears fit securely in my hand giving me control over my light pruning tasks. I particularly like the spring loaded action - when the shears open there's a slight tension when closing to make a clean precision cut. The spring is actually a coiled wire spring and should last a long time. Releasing your grip allows the spring to open the shears ready for the next cut. I make it a habit to wash and oil my shears/pruners at the end of each season to avoid rusting over the winter. The tension of the blades can be adjusted as the shears begin to wear. You can also easily remove the screw and disassemble blades for sharpening. Gardening is like just about everything else, having the right tools for tasks makes the job much easier. I find that I use all sizes of shears/pruners around the garden and the HydroCrunch 6.5" garden shears will be my "Go To" herb shears.

My wife wanted these, her others where a clunky and rusted out. The blades are thin, cut sharply, and cleanly. The spring action on the handles is smooth, and not overly strong. I found them a bit soft, but she thinks they are good. Majority of these shears is heavy plastic, including the handle release button/slider. Let's see how long they last.. Good color if laid down on the dirt.

They are precision cutting, cut through even the woody stem of a Hydrangea without any problems, and trim leaves from plants with ease. They are so sharp that "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN" should be stamped on them. The spring is very strong and opens the shear immediately. It has an easy to use sliding lock to keep them closed when not in use. Impressive and a great value!

Returned tgem gor a similar product from a competitor, only with a MUCH better warranty.
