[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a KitchenAid undercounter ice maker several years and liked it so much we replaced it with another Kitchenaid this year. It makes clear, square ice cubes, which we love for cocktails and insulated water bottles. We bought the model with the drain pump and it's a little noisier than our last model, which is our only complaint. But again, love the clear ice, convenience, easy cleaning, and quality of the ice maker. Thank you!

I replaced a 13 year old GE Monogram ice maker that was turned off for the last few years because it was constantly leaking or broken. It actually ruined the ceiling in my basement several times. So far this one has been fantastic. The built in pump along with the long tube makes sure the water goes where it should. I have missed the incredible ice these machines make.

The unit showed up used and had previously been installed. And we are still struggling to get this situation resolved. Plus the recirculation pump after 21 days of operation is still making noises. The really frustrating part is even though we bought this from Home Depot we have to deal with the manufacturer instead of the company we bought it from.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite ice. I am a bit of an ice nut. Clear cut cubes are the only kind of ice maker I would have. I advise keeping up with the cleaning schedule. The ice maker will tell you when. You can avoid very expensive repairs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about June of last year. It took until December to get it. We installed it. It works. The ice is broken up though and not as nice as it should be for 2 months old.... . I had hoped for better quality than I got, but if it will just last at least 5 years that would be a win. Kitchen Aid used to be real quality stuff with great customer service, somewhere along the line the customer became something of a bother. So long as it works for 5 years, I think this will be a reasonable Kitchen Aid investment. Time will tell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are so happy with our new Kitchenaid Icemaker. We had a uline icemaker and it completely stopped working after 3 weeks. This icemaker is so much nicer even though the cost was about the same. Plus, I could not get service for the uline at all where I live. It is more attractive and seems to have features that actually work! The door seals well when you shut it, the ice is uniform and the bin stays full, there is no odd smell from the unit, the sounds are muted very well, the appearance is attractive, the handle is easy to use and I feel confident in its performance because it is a Kitchenaid after all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replaced a Scotsman. Much quieter and faster. The only criticism is an annoying sound originating near the top. It sounds like something might be wrong with the unit. Not natural. We turn the unit off during the day to avoid the noise.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I order this icemaker in August to replace a cheaper brand the broke after 2 years. I had seen this icemaker work and it fit the dimensions of the space in the undercounter basement bar. Had to be sure it has a pump for the ice maker water discharge. Be sure you order the correct one as the descriptions on all the icemakers are very sketchy on this fact. Had to replumb this a you need to use a hose to attach the discharge water hose. First ice started coming our right away. I have ordered the water filter to see if it works as well. I also ordered the cleaning solution as well. This is very important to clean these icemakers as the hard water calcium can build up and make your unit in operable very quickly. Look forward to using this as it holds 2 gallon pails of ice. I am always amazed at how expensive these are. A refigerator with icemaker costs about the same. I enjoy having ice when we need it so I hope this will last many years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife's mother who lives in Tampa, Fl. who is 91 suggested that we add a ice maker to the kitchen. We told the architect to put it in the plans. We absolutely love it!! No more buying ice bags at the store as my wife hates refrigerator ice. We never run out of ice and can accommodate large parties without running out. My wife's mother said that over the past 30 years she has had other brands, but nothing has worked better than her KitchenAid. Thanks KitchenAid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice maker is replacing a 20 year old ice maker, which was the predecessor to the new unit. A few new features on the new unit, the rapid 24 hr. cycle, are nice. So far the new unit is ok. I broke the male nipple at the top of the drain pump trying to connect the drain hose. I had to do a compromise "fix" to get the hose on. I need a new connection the clips or screws in to the top of the drain pump. The old unit was a lemon, and I had constant problems with circuit board and other things. KA finally replaced it after a year of frequent and costly repairs. Overall, the new unit performed ok. The bin level indicator gave frequent problems, and would put the unit in unwanted cleaning cycle. I replaced the level indicator at least 10 times in 20 years. This is unsatisfactory. Time will tell if the new unit is any better.

We had a KitchenAid ice maker in a different house so we knew this one would not disappoint. It’s very quiet when making ice and/or draining. The machine makes ice quickly which is great when you entertain. The outside is easy to keep clean too. Great ice maker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice cubes can be adjusted in size and the recovery time is quick. The first time I cleaned it, I could not find information on how to turn it off. Called the help number and no one could help. There is a magnet in the middle of the panel that must be pressed to open the plastic shield. This is a different feature from our past models. Be aware that once you have a stand alone ice maker, you will be spoiled and not want any other huge ice cubes.

We decided to try the Kitchenaid as all of our other appliances are Kitchenaid that we are happy with. We are so pleased with the crystal clear small cubes that actually chill our drinks much better. Also the volume and speed of ice making are excellent.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought an entire kitchen package including a very expensive jive machine February 2021. The ice machine for the first 4 months worked great. Produced a lot of ice and made very little noise. Now the last couple of months it began to make loud noises that it didn’t make before and it’s not producing the same amount of ice like it did. Sometimes it’s so loud I could hear it in my bedroom. I placed a mineral water cleanser to see if that would help, but it did not. Now it makes loud noises at different intervals of the ice production cycle. I wish it could go back to how it ran when I first got the unit.

It actually stopped working when we had owned it for less than a year, but the warranty cover all costs for repairs and the ice maker works very well. Makes plenty of ice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were surprised to find, within the first year of operation, there were problems with our machine that resulted in 3 service calls and the technician was required to take it back to their shop where it was found that the compressor would need to be replaced. This resulted in the ice maker being out of service for approximately 6 weeks.

I'll keep doing that because I hear ice makers are notorious for problems if they are not. Good quality ice from the machine and easy to operate. Love having one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the second Kitchen Aid ice maker I’ve had. The first was in the remodeled kitchen in Texas. We moved from there and really missed the ice machine! When I remodeled this kitchen, I could not wait to get another. This one has been updated with a built in water filter. The ice is a great size and is crystal clear. And I always have ice available.
