This is an awesome tool to have. I have a multimeter that this plugs right into. It is quick and easy. I have tested its accuracy against an outdoor mercury thermometer and an indoor Nest Thermostat. The readings are consistent, but they are 2 to 3 degrees low. Although low, again, they are consistent.
There might be a way for me to "zero" the readings on my multimeter, but as of right now, I have not found one.
It seems like it is quite durable, which is reassuring.
Overall a good tool. I wish I had bought one sooner.

Picked this up to use with my Klein multi-meter. Works perfectly. Really handy to measure air temperatures on air conditioning units, heat pumps and mini-splits. This type of thermocouple is good for 32 - 896 degrees F. It comes with the banana plug adapter that fits Klein multi-meters although it will work with any multi-meter or clamp meter that measures temperature. The cord length convenient - about 3 feet. Not something I use a lot but really great to have when I need it. Perfect for someone who does a lot of HVAC work.

The Klein Tools Brad, K-Type High Temperature Thermocouple is a high-quality thermocouple with a high temperature covering on the lead. I use K thermocouples in diagnosing and repairing air conditioning units which do not require the quality of this thermocouple’s high temperature covering or rating. This style direct contacting thermocouple provides the most accurate temperature readings. I compared this direct contact thermocouple with Klein Tools clamp on K-type thermocouple and both read similarly close with the direct contact thermocouple reading a very small amount higher. A direct contacting thermocouple works best when measuring liquid temperatures as the thermocouple may be directly submerged in most liquids. I gave the Klein high temperature thermocouple a good rating as opposed to excellent due to the fact few users will require a high temperature K-thermocouple for their needs. Nevertheless, it is one of the highest quality K-thermocouples available.

Good Quality basic Thermocouple. This can be used for surface temperature, air temperature and liquid temperature making your multimeter a very versatile tool for checking temperature on numerous things such as Air Conditioning output temperature or Air Conditioning Evaporator Temperature, water or oil temperature or even the temperature of a bearing. Easy to Use too

Got this as a back-up to carry with me. I have had and used Klein meters on a daily basis for some years now this probe does well, and is every bit as accurate as others I have used, at half the cost. To only downside to this probe is the cloth weave that protects the leads. Works well when it is new, but is far more susceptible to snagging and abrasion when inserting and removing from ductwork .
multiple times per day.

Very accurate thermocouple, tested it against other know accurate thermocouple, thermometer, and infrared non-contact gun. Works well with my Fluke 87v meter. The braided shield does an excellent job of protecting the lead. Thermocouple is rated to 896 F (480 C) which is nice for HVAC or other high heat applications. Lead is 3 foot long and rigid enough to stay in place once bent to the desired position. Overall great thermocouple for the price.

I am in the Heating , Ventilating and, Air Conditioning industry and use a lot of different metering devices and have a wide range of temperature measuring meters and did not have one that goes above 300 degrees and this one ranges from 32 degrees to 896 degrees and very useful when checking heating operation and components and can also use it for measuring the heat when I cook outside and is very accurate.

This type K thermocouple works as it should. A useful extra is the "banana plug" adapter that does not come with most thermocouples.
The description says that it will read temperatures from 32 to 900 deg F. I believe the thermocouple will read that temperature. The end of the TC however has what looks like a rubber coating that makes it easier to hold. I doubt it will survive any high temperatures like an oven for example. This is why I gave it a 4 star as opposed to a 5 star rating.

Good quality for the money and works with my Fluke meter. The K-type thermocoupler that came with my Fluke 179 meter feels and looks much cheaper than this one. The Klein has a braided nylon sleeve around the wires which feels much nicer than the plastic insulated ones, and I'm more confident it will not break when I fold it up and put it away. The very high temp reading capability is nice too, but I hope to not have to measure anything that is 896F!

This high temperature thermocouple wire is an absolute must for anyone in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry. When charging systems using the sub-cooling method, the accuracy of these couples are unsurpassed. The K type mounting will fit not only Fluke meters but a vast array of other makes as well. With its virtual access across the board compatibility, this product should easily find its way into the majority of technicians' tool chests. I always keep a spare couple wire with my meter for those "just in case" moments when temperature has to b e measured accurately.
