I was able to get exactly what I needed. I was glad I didn’t need to buy a “packet of three items” in order to fix my door. It’s now ready for another 40 years of service.

The front door lockset would not turn. I thought I needed a new $45 lockset. Replacing the latch for $7.50 was all I needed.

Latch bolt mechanism on exterior (keyed) Kwikset door knob set on a 25 year old tract house was worn and was intermittently catching about halfway through its travel resulting in either door not closing or being stuck closed with knobs unable to rotate. This was a drop in replacement, mechanism now works smoothly with original knobs, keyway, spindle (which is itself a bit worn) etc. The default 2 3/8" (60mm) backset and 7/8" hole were correct for this door but it is adjustable for a 2 1/2" backset and/or a 1" hole.

My old Kwikset Lock Dead Latch seized up and this just fit just like it was meant to. It saved me from having to rekey the lock or replace the whole house full of door locks. A quick and easy fix

I was very happy to find this option and not have to replace the whole doorknob but I could just fix it. I was able to remove the old assembly from the door and put this one in without a problem. It works great now.

Perfect replacement versus a total change out! It is nice the technology has not changed in 16 years since our original was installed.

I think I bought the left version and I should have gotten the right version, but it still works fine, just upside down.
