Don’t be fooled by easy install video
I had to frantically call my dad to rescue me because I took the old lock out and this one wasn’t going in perfectly. Nothing worked. It is easy install only if your old lock opening is precisely the size of this lock. Mine was visually identical In size but even 1/16” variance made a difference and the latch wouldn’t open or it would snag. My dad had to shave off parts of the door and create new screw holes to get it all to work. It was a nightmare that took two hours. Programming of the lock codes was the easiest part. So far, one day in, it works.

Works when it feels like it
Lock 6 months old. Sometimes the lock keypad works, sonetimes the keypad does not and you better gave your key. Its frustrating. Changed batteries etc. It works when it wants - which isn't often.

We had a difficult time setting the passcode. Then we wanted to add the time lock, we attempted to follow the directions and apparently didn’t enter the passcode correctly then the lock pad closed down. Then we were not able to reset it. So got a different one.

Secure Keyless Entry
This lock set is a great value. It arrived quickly and was relatively easy to install. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow along. It has all the features I was looking for in a keyless entry lock set at an affordable price. I will be purchasing more to secure the other doors to my house.

kwikset powerbolt2 keypad security knob and digital lock
I bought 2 lockets. one worked well. the other had electronic problems and didn't work at all. I would not recommend. it installed ok. but the electronics part was not good at all.

1. Make sure the lock was installed with the latch fully retracted, measure the door frame jamb hole to ensure that it's at least 1 inch deep, and check your door alignment.
2. Ensure that the mounting bolts aren't too tight, and perform the manual door handing step in section # 6 of the installation guide: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/aa/aae52f13-1a47-428c-8ac6-363d5af7afb0.pdf
3. Next, please make sure to follow steps in Section 8: A, B, and C in sequential order.

Instructions need a video citation!
The lock apears to work well but instructions don't mention "replacing" existing locks or using website videos which are ESSENTIAL for a novice. I used a Kwikset Youtube which was great until one reached the end-establishing a Master Code (will not OPEN the lock) and the User codes. At this time i reverted to the written instructions which were not so clear either, but when I removed the batteries and RESET to start over, I finally finished the installation....1.5 hours rather than 30! I like the touch and backlit numbers. Now time will be the test.

Great dead bolt with one flaw.
The only thing wrong with the lock is when I set a delay to auto lock is that sometimes it doesn't lock, so I now always lock it manually. (Pushing the button or flipping the lever)
