[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product (owned 7yrs) compressor failed - similar to previous reviews labor to fix exceeded the warranty cost and now ice maker also not making ice after numerous resets and using hair dryer (per YouTube) to try and fix this. Won’t buy another LG….kinda bummed as I like the functionality, just not the reliability!!!! Good luck if you own one.

Eight years of efficient use has been great. Door in door makes life easier to grab the things you need most often without disturbing the temperature of the fridge. Controls on the outside panel help us to know exactly what is going on with the fridge and temperatures can be set very easily. Locking out ice and water with children around is extremely helpful. The multi outlet cooling control in the fridge guarantees everything is the temperature you want it to be, and lighting is bright at every level.

Very disappointed that 6 years in and we have to replace our compressor. Furthermore it was replaced and is still not working.

It has everything a fridge needs with the ice maker and water dispenser as a plus! The plus: -it works well -makes no noise -has a great design love the deep side boxes The only drawbacks for me are: -Not enough light in the fridge. I wish I had noticed this in the store. Too late now! Only the top is lit, so it's hard to see the items in the dark shelves. -Its a little too deep. We can't easily access what's halfway through the back of the fridge. We have to take everything out. -The awkward adjustments of the tablets: there aren't enough options, so we are stuck with heights that are inconvenient for our refrigerated items.

I bought this refrigerator 5 years ago. The linera compressor recentlt shut down but still had a warranty so we replace it and is working fine. Thenonly think that we are alittle disappointed is the left side soor which is rusty on some edges. Will be great if LG offered warranty on the exterior parts.

The unit is very quiet, temps were even, and ice maker worked great. However, compressor went out. I expect the unit to work just fine once compressor is replaced.

I brought this 5 years ago and constantly have trouble with the ice maker. I had the extended warranty so they replaced the unit for free 2 times. But now the warranty is over I get no ice again . I will never by an LG products again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator was in the house I purchased, so I didn't really have a choice in the selection of the model. At first I was completely confounded by the door-in-door design, which I've grown to accept and somewhat appreciate. The design of the water and ice dispenser as separate functions is really unintuitive, and every person who comes to my house will end up spilling water on the floor (100% of the time). I really don't like the handle design - it's impossible to catch the door as it starts to swing back closed on your arm or your toddler. Basically, this refrigerator works OK but is full of oddball design choices that I'm not a fan of. The icemaker has way too little capacity too.

I wanted to love this fridge, but right after the first year we have had problems. From ice marker over making ice, not making ice at all, making loud weird noises, defrosting, not cooling, etc, it has been a nightmare. Spending that much money on fridge should give you some security that it will at least last 5 years before anything starts to fail. It’s been so hard to find repair companies, not to mention the long way for a new compressor, that apparently has caused 1000’s of people problems while LG has a class action law suit against them for this terrible design and ability to get replacement parts for the compression.

We bought this refrigerator 4years ago and it went out on monday they couldn’t get anyone to fix it till friday. Friday come their tech fixes it twice over the course of 4-5 hours. He replaced the evaporator and the compressor. Told us it would take 24hrs to get to temperature. Saturday evening rolls around and its the same temp as the house. Called up and now they can not get anyone to us for another 3-4 days. It will be 9-10 days and “fixed” 3 times. I’ll update if it ever gets fixed or replaced.

I can’t believe the shelves all cracked and I had to replace almost every single one! Plastic that LG used it was horrible! On top so hard to find the replacements

Layout is very convienient, door features work well (ie:Ice water and controls) . Only time will tell how it performs in the future but, so far I am extremely pleased with this purchase and optomistic regarding it's future performance.

We love it! in our home since 2014 and its perfect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The door-in-door feature is really neat - I didn't think I would like it that much but it really is nice to have a centralized place for condiments. However the small door does not close well unless you give it extra force and are very intentional about it, so this is frustrating. If you are quickly grabbing creamer for coffee or any other condiment and are in a rush, it is VERY easy to leave the door unlatched and open all day long. It is also frustrating that there is no logical place for items like cheese or deli meat unless you re-purpose a vegetable drawer. The freezer area is also somewhat of an issue. Because of the way the door opens, warm air comes in each time you open it. This means that condensation builds up in the freezer and ice actually forms in a specific area outside of the icebox.

I think the only flaw is that extra door doesn't have an alarm or something you let you know that you didn't close it all the way and the ice bin is not necessarily sufficient other than that this refrigerator is awesome and beautiful..

The "space saver" dimensions are not exactly space saving...we had to leave room to accommodate the hinges on the doors. We've already had some problems with the ice maker, but followed the "on-line" instructions to correct them, and they worked

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this product, but it is really hard to clean. The front panel keeps all fingerprint, and it impossible to clean it out. We could not remove drop of water from water filter. Also, really hard to clean inside to the "door-in-Door"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially thrilled with this appliance. Perfect size and holds more than expected but ice machine broke within first 3 months. Good response on service and was replaced. Made one new batch of ice then nothing. Second service/repair and worked for about 3 weeks. Now waiting on 3rd service which will replace the freezer door. Support has been good but shouldn't have been needed so overall, not happy and wish I would have selected a different appliance. Feels like this is just going to keep happening until I'm out of my warranty.

Have had this fridge for almost a year and no problems yet. Having no handles sticking out is really a great feature since it sits at the entry to the kitchen. Previously if somebody was using the fridge, nobody could get by them. The ice maker in the door gives you more room in the freezer (but it doesn't store as much ice as our old one). The height of the dispenser is the biggest I've seen allowing very tall glasses. Love the door-in-door feature. Easy to open and close. Smudges are no different than any of our other SS appliances. The temperature seems to be very even. What else can I say? LG makes a super refrigerator, with great form and function.
