Mounted in garage wall for our gym no problem.
Needed something strong and easy to install through the wall in the garage. going through stucco etc. The unit comes with a sleeve which I used to measure the frame. The sleeve is mounted to the unit when opened, simply removed four screws to slide it out. When turning it on there is a lot of cool air coming out. Will have to wait for a hot day to truly test it. So far, We are very happy with it.

      Quiet and affordable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cools my classroom quickly and quietly. I am pleasantly surprised that my 550sqft open classroom feels cool in a few short minutes! Running at a low hum, it does not come through as background noise during my online meetings, the way the last one did.

Fan Blade Broke After Only 1 Week!
Really expensive unit with horrible plastic parts. Fan assembly broke after 1 week of use. Costumer service has been a drag. It’s been 2 months dealing with costumer service back and forth and they still haven’t been able to fix. LG is the worst when it come to take care of their costumers. Do not by this over inflated a/c wall unit unless you want to be waiting just to get your parts.

This air-conditioner is worth the money. If you have any experience with these type of units you will enjoy the quietness of this unit. It is a large AC unit but it keeps our 300 sq room very cool.

              Fantastic Purchase
Have owned this window AC unit for a little over a year now. Went through all last summer and being put to use this summer. Absolutely love it! Have this mounted in a 29in window in my house. Everything to appreciate about it. Keeps the house cool in our climate temps up to the high 90s. Is super quiet even when on the highest speed. Love that it is WiFi; can create schedules to have it turn on and off as needed; able to adjust that schedule or turn it on and off effectively anywhere using just your smart phone. Even when using a lot during the summer, hasnt drastically altered our electricity bill beyond reason. Absolute best just being able to plug it into a standard househould outlet. For me personally, didn’t need a stand or bracket for it. Had to use a 1in piece of wood to even the base of the window to the actual window seal to get the unti even without sitting up off the base an inch, and used about 3.5in screws; have not had a single issue with bowing, bending, and have not worried about it falling off. Admittedly left it in the window through winter, survived snow weight of up to several feet of snow fall and cold temps. Doesnt let in a big draft, at least from my window, and like I said very sturdy. Pictured below is the unit from the inside. keep in mind mine is a year old so some cosmetic damage, and i would have liked to add an image showing that it sits off the window with no support bracket with no issues. Would highly recommend this ac to anyone. Well worth the modest cost!

                Life Is Good AC
Bought this AC and don't regret it. With the summer months heating up. Replaced it with this updated AC. It was hard to find and got lucky they had 5 in stock. Easy installation and yes it is very, very quiet like our old faithfull Panasonic that kicked the bucket. Room cools less than 20 minutes. Love all the features we also have an older LG with Wi-Fi its Awesome when you are able to see what the indoor temp is showing and able to turn it on using your phone especially if you a pet in the house. Life is Good and cooler with this AC.

                  BEST AC EVER!!!
I wanted to leave a review just in case someone else is in the same boat as I am with a smaller window. I fell in love with this after reading the reviews and details etc but was dismayed to measure my window only to find it is 25” width measuring on the inside of my window. This ac calls for 27” minimum. But then I noticed in the product specs it said the width of the ac was 23.94 “ so I figured I’d cross my fingers and hope for the best- since the wings aren’t really necessary or so I’ve been told. Well I have to say it fit perfectly. There was like 1/2” on both sides once in the window which I stuffed with foam and then taped over. The other thing I was worried about was the support bracket. I don’t have one and I’m using this in my bedroom which is the entire second floor of my house- it’s open to the stairs so I needed a stronger unit which is problematic because of my window size and 115v electrical outlet. Well this unit is perfect!! The curved metal rim/bracket on top of the ac perfectly fit Into the window to secure it and naturally tilted downwards to remove water condensation. I was also worried about the difficulty of the installation because of a few of the reviews but it couldn’t have been easier! I don’t know what those people were talking about- maybe screwing in the wings is more difficult? Anyway- The only ‘Hard’ part was getting it up the stairs as it is a 90 lb unit. But as another review stated just cut the plastic straps on the box and slide the cover up and off. Then once you put the unit in the window, the front panel/cover electric wire- which comes separate from the unit- just snaps into the wires on the front of the unit and the filter and cover go right into place. No struggling or forcing necessary. I was seriously happy with just how easy this was to install and start running. And as everyone else has stated this ac is soo quiet if you have it on low fan mode or sleep mode. It’s a little louder on the high fan setting but still waaay quieter than my old ac ever was And- most importantly- it really cools off entire 2nd floor! I also installed the app which was also easy and love how I can run diagnostic tests right from my phone or set up a schedule etc or control from downstairs so it is cooler when I plan to go up there. I give this an A+++ for set up and functionality and don’t even get me started on how much I love the appearance of it. It is such a bonus not to have all those little dust collecting slats! And the cover just opens easily for filter removal and washing. The only thing I can’t grade this ac on yet is longevity since I only bought it yesterday but so far it is a love fest with my wocky box( I call it the wocky box since my friend whom I call wocky did all the heavy lifting for me yesterday). The only question for potential buyers now is where to find this magical ac unit because the more the word gets out the harder it will be to find! Good luck to you.

                    EXCELLENT unit!
We've had ours for about a year now, and we absolutely love it overall. It's VERY strong, and we have it as a whole house unit for our 1060sqft manufactured home. So far on 100+ degree days it has had no issues keeping us under 75 in the whole house; the end bedrooms get about 5 degrees warmer than our central living areas. There are four minor annoyances with this unit I would point out: 1- The remote control is bizarre and does not work as expected. It doesn't just change the settings that already exist, it seems to send an entire command set based on what it thinks should be on the AC unit. The current ThinQ app works much better though, and is primarily how I control it. 2- Low speed can actually be too much airflow; I would prefer to have a fourth setting below Low; it's just a firmware setting, and LG could do it, but so far they haven't. So far the only way to get lower fan movement is to use sleep mode.. which... 3- Sleep mode is buggy. When I set Sleep mode, the sensor temperature goes off kilter, and the set temperature also changes itself randomly. This is a firmware bug that hasn't been fixed yet. The unit works fine, as expected, but it reports wrong settings and temps. 4- The inverter whine is annoying outdoors. There is a high pitch whine from the inverters, especially when it's not running at 100%. It's not really audible inside, but outside it's quite noticeable. If you're planning on having this unit near a place you use outside a lot, be aware this is a thing. I'm also a live audio mixer, and I'm more sensitive to these things than many people, so take this with a grain of salt. It's not a deal breaker, but something to know about for sure. This unit is HEAVY! We only have vinyl windows, and I do not trust this amount of weight on the window itself. It's probably fine, but since I leave it in year round, I didn't want the stress on the window. The supplied support brackets are not something I was able to use because of how our windows are installed on this home. I used other external support brackets. However, I found a clever way to install them that doesn't require drilling into the home/window at all, and is entirely self supporting. Basically, since this AC unit uses a sleeve, I used that to my advantage and drilled out and mounted two heavy duty AC brackets directly to the sleeve. Thus, it's completely self contained, and there's no pressure on the window at all. This makes taking out for cleaning much easier; I did my first annual clean this spring, and taking it out of the window to clean it and putting it back in was super easy (but heavy!). Overall, a GREAT unit!

Does not work on GFCI circuit
As others have mentioned, this will not work on a circuit with a GFCI. I started with 12ga wire, 20A breaker fuse, with 15A GFCI, so naturally I replaced the GFCI with a 20A, but that didn't help. I have two circuits in my garage - and I tested both circuits with the same result (after spending $100 on new outlets). No matter what I tried, if there was a GFCI on the circuit, it would trip within minutes of starting up. It might be worth mentioning that the outlet the AC is connected to is daisy chained from a GFCI, and not on a single dedicated line to a single GFCI outlet - someone mentioned that worked for them, but I didn't try that. As others mentioned, I simply removed the GFCI from the circuit, and it works fine. This is very frustrating because it is in a garage, and a GFCI is required per code. Also, what is the reason it won't work on a GFCI?? I noticed the plug has a "test" and "reset" functionality to it - just like a GFCI does. Maybe that is why there is a conflict? In any case, it was not terribly difficult to install, but that's because this is in my garage, and I didn't really care how it looked. I needed a 2x4 under the unit to support it from the inside. The support feet on the sill outside also were not designed well - at least not for my window. I give it 3 stars because of how ridiculously difficult it was to install on a circuit with a GFCI, and no mention is made in the user manual - only in the reviews online. It blows cold air though, and that's what it's supposed to do. Time will tell how reliable it is.

Ultra quiet and relatively easy to install
I purchased this 14k BTU unit for my church hall after purchasing a slightly different 10k unit for my living room, and I must say that this unit is unbelievably quiet. Even though we had a storm window, installation was easy. We did just need two extra pieces of wood for the interior sill and our window channel: to elevate it above the aluminum storm window frame, to provide a solid base for the feet, and to ensure it is level. (Measure this before heading to the store; as wide as your window and generally it does not have to be too tall, like 1/2-3/4”.) At 98 lbs, it is heavy: I managed to wrangle the box off of the cart and into my minivan by myself, but have an assistant help you get it inside and into place. Even if you are strong, the bulk makes it a bit awkward. Cut the straps around the box and the top will slip up and off, no other cutting into the box required. Remove four screws and slide the compressor out, mount the frame*, and slide the mechanics back in. *The most annoying thing about preparing the window sleeve was attaching the black snap-in accordion guides at the bottom. You really want to have a pair of channel lock pliers handy. Double check the orientation, get the outer hook inserted, then squeeze/snap the inner one into place with the pliers. Also, pre-screw (and then un-screw) all of the accordion holes in the sides of the frame (without those wings in place.) It makes screwing them in “for real” through the accordion brackets MUCH more easy. Be careful not to pinch/damage the accordions under the screws as you attach them.

                          Second day failure
Installed the unit on Memorial Day and it ran great for a few hours and then turned it off. Next day I plugged it in and the gfi tripped within seconds. Replaced the gfi and same thing. Ran a microwave on the new gfi. It pulled 18 amps and no issue. Plugged the A/C back in and noticed soot coming from a seam on the plug. I cleaned it off thinking maybe it was just some dirt but when it came on I watched the soot form in the same location. This unit is obviously a fire hazard and I’m lucky it was plugged directly into a gfi outlet. I’m not going to bother with any repair on the plug. If they can’t get the most basic thing of any appliance correct there’s no way I’ll ever trust any component in this unit. Now I’m faced with returning this thing. Ridiculous LG!

much better than a standard window ac
I upgraded from a 10,000 BTU standard window unit to this. Much easier to sleep, To begin with it’s quieter with a sleep mode that’s very very quiet. The computer on this thing will figure out how much cooling is necessary and it runs its variable speed compressor at just thr right speed to provide the correct amount of cooling. No more cold-too cold-too humid-too warm cycles over and over. This uses less power than my 10k unit too, since its more efficient and doesnt have to work as hard.

This is a big, heavy air conditioner (91 lbs). The instructions tell you to remove the interior parts from the cabinet and fasten the cabinet to your window sill before replacing the interior parts. In my mind that makes it essentially a permanent installation, which I did not want. I purchased an EZ-AC no screw bracket so that I could slide the AC out on the bracket in the spring and slide it back inside onto a storage platform for the winter. I found it very interesting that the installation instructions CAUTION you that "The lower panel guides are easily broken. Be careful with them when installing the cabinet." What they really mean is this: "you are unlikely to be able to install the lower curtain panel guides without breaking them. Rather than fixing this design flaw we elected to simply put a warning in the installation guide, making you think that you were not careful, rather than blaming us for the poor design." A heavy item like this is probably more likely to suffer damage during transit. Mine appeared to have been dropped on a corner of the box, which was not very rugged considering the weight and size of the product. I didn't think there was any damage, but when I installed the unit I could see a slight bulge in the sheet metal of the cabinet on the corner that had been dropped. The AC seems to work okay. It is very quiet in comparison to other, smaller ACs that I have. It puts out a good flow of cold air. I won't really know how well it performs until the summer of 2021.

We love the LG AC we installed in our living room. It is qui-et! Cools great so my husband is happy. We have only had it for about a month, but the month was July. It is a great AC.

It’s big, powerful and quiet. Did require a 15 amp 220 volt new outlet and breaker thou. I also saw water pooling inside toward the back so I carefully drilled a hole with a 1/4” bit for drainage... and that did the trick. It is also a good looking machine that has an updated look to it. It came with mounting brackets that seem like more then enough too.

Very quiet even when it is running full out. Looks better than every other window a/c out there. Simple to install and just works great. The "Smart ThinQ" however is anything but smart. Although LG likes to blame it on location of your wifi (mine is 10' from unit) it works most of the time at best as it takes a while to load app and signs me out every once in a while which is unnecessary. I do turn it on when leaving work from my car (on cellular network) so it is icy cool when I arrive at home. The remote works well and does everything I need it to do. For its cooling capacity and super quiet this is the best 14,000 btu window a/c you can buy.
