Very very quiet, inexpensive to run.
I wanted the dual inverter I got it when it was 40% off in January, very very quiet compared to any other AC I've owned can barely hear it. 2 small issues turning off the annoying beep every time I select a function would be nice remote should backlit.I see a lot of avoidable rust issues, remember to tilt it back slightly as with all window AC units& contrary to the instructions *remove* the drain plug..! Unless you live in the dry desert..

    Nice but Rust Box
    Great for cooling, but bad for health. It was great for cooling then after 2 months I started to smell something and it had been spraying a light mist of rust. My family has been sick for awhile a didn't know why. Now we do!

      Damaged
      Pickup today to replace my other unit that was only 1 year old, lucky for me I still had my old frame. Installed lets wait and see if it holds up. Wouldn't be a problem swapping for another but I live a hour from the closest store

        I have a 720 sf shop that is R23 insulated. The A/C is too small to cool the square footage. The unit works well but I believe that the 800 sf rating is overly generous.

        Died just under 2 years of use..
        Worked just fine in the fall of 2021. It just stopped working 3 days ago. It just stopped cooling and was getting very noisy. CH codes popped up and the unit just died right after. The AC unit was never abused and was always set at Eco mode. Rust also began to form on the outside enclosure and would stain my window sill. The unit is huge and very heavy! For $650 this AC should have lasted more than 8 years.. at least! Junk!! You are better off just getting a Frigidaire 10000 btu AC ..

          This AC is noticeably quieter than my previous LG. It does not interfere with my sleep. It has three fan speeds which gives me more nuanced control over the changing conditions throughout the day or night. The streamlined design fits nicely in the window and the pricepoint worked well for my budget. I like the way you can direct where the air blows however it still could use some refinement in how that feature works. I would buy this LG again and am very happy with its overall look and functionality.

          Dual Inverter really saves $$!
          I can't remember if i've already reviewed this as it's been 3.5 months, but I was reminded using it in 106 weather everyday 24/7 in essentially a 900 sqft attic converted into a master bedroom & bathroom & office... I am not hot!! There's little insulation up here and a roof directly over the ceiling, so it gets HOT without it. Last summer we had to live downstairs. This year, we still sleep, work, shower, up here bc it stays 74 degrees during the day up here and 69 at night. AMAZING! 23.5K BTU

            Great product
            This is second LG dual inverter window ac i bought. Bought first to work with generator. House ac went out best money you can spend. The second one is just for bedroom. Should be able to run 14k and new 12k on generator.

              BAIT AND SWITCH - THEY TRICKED ME
              I found this exact product at my city's Home Depot web site for $569 I told my wife to order it, it changed the price to $629 when she ordered it. That's $50 higher. I can't believe that I can't trust Home Depot to not do a bait and switch. Total with tax was $680. That's just wrong.

                2nd unit failed with error code ch21
                This unit has a lot of convenience factors with a remote control. However, I have purchased two of the same units for a small home to run the AC in the front room. This is the second unit I have purchased that has failed giving me a CH 21 code. I believe this is a factory defect but LG will not honor the warranty after a year. Conveniently the code happens after a year, and typically follows a power outage. I have to unplug it and replug it after the code error to get it to work.

                  Had LW1522IVSM all summer
                  Home office, computers keep room hot. The unit is very cold, had a 15000BTU, this LG 14000BTU puts out a lot more cold air. Re-usable Filters, I decided to pick up some extra's so I don't have to clean right away, you can get them relatively cheap, and they last forever so why not. Android App is awesome, full control, and tells you how much time before filter needs to be replaced. This unit is awesome.

                    Disappointing...Ocean Salt Water???
                    This AC unit was nice at the beginning, but we've had it just over 2 years and it has started to corrode the outside fins and the pan is rusted badly. The installer thought it was weird there wasn't a drain plug or any discussion in the manual about having it drain properly and not having water sit. This is likely related to the corrosion issue due to water sitting in the pan. We're not sure how much more we'll be able to use this 18000 BTU unit, so very disappointed in this unit.

                      Immediately begins rusting, great otherwisse
                      Good unit, except the condensation tray paint is poorly applied. Tray corrosion begins immediately. I have two of these units, both in light service for two seasons (each with about 4 months of service total), both with the same problem. If you buy, either disassemble and recoat the tray before you use it or expect only 3-5 years of service before it rusts through completely. Very disappointing issue for a fairly expensive appliance.

                        Guide assembly/Rail it works
                        The Guide assembly/rail is Narrow for my Window i don't know why LG did this its not my first LG window AC i have the usual standard windows which installed was 15 years ago I need a slightly wider guide assembly so it can stop vibrating the part # for the assembly is 4974AR3262S when you look at the image you can see how narrow it is i don't know what to do at this point i don't want to return it for this reason which can be easily fixed if LG supplied the right stuff for it

                          This AC gets my entire house cool effortlessly. Its quiet, and user-friendly. The app is great! I mainly use the app to operate it. It also has a remote if you prefer to use that option. Love this AC! I've recommended it to family, friends, and colleagues.

                            Don't waste your time.
                            Bought this unit as an alternative to a 12,000 BTU unit I was looking for something to help my old HVAC unit cool. I thought it would be fine, being that I have a 2 year old GE 5,000 BTU window unit in a room on the opposite side of the HVAC return from where this unit was installed. Nope! I install the thing just enough to plug it in and see what it can do. Oh it's super quiet, but it was just blowing hot air out. I went to my $130 GE and it was colder. Returned it! Bring back A/C Displays!

                              Less than $3/day to run for 24 hours in 2022
                              SUPER COLD AIR. Quiet. It costs us $2 and change per day to run it 24 hours straight in Sonora CA in June 2022. It kept us very cool during the heat wave. It is covering about 1300 sq ft pretty well. 2- 450 sq ft living rooms and 400 sq ft of kitchen & dining rooms. On a 106° day it maintained 65° in the living room it is installed in and 70° in the room next to it (the air does not directly flow into that room). Bought it for a 400 sq ft bedroom, but plans changed. Plugs in regular outlet.

                                Nice but do things before installing.
                                Purchased July '22. Nice heavy unit for large room. Quiet and son got it working on his phone. Two items, two crappy plastic clips hold the bottom side curtains. Each of us broke a side of the clip where they are suppose to fit in the bottom. They don't fit right, but reversed, put the curtains at an angle. Two, The side curtain screws catch part of the plastic curtain and are a big hassle trying to get them in when already in the window. It did not blow a fuse in a regular outlet.

                                  Only lasted 2 and a half months!
                                  Conveniently went out on a 100° day. Air conditioner was only two and a half months old. Worked great (when it was working), but I cannot recommend-- Due to only lasting a couple of months. This unit replaced my previous LG air conditioner, that lasted seven + years. Highly disappointed in this unit :(

                                    Doesn't last! Poor Quality—Not reliable
                                    BROKEN after LESS than 2 years of use (only run during NYC summers!) since purchase/install at end of July 2020. Hasn't worked at all this year. No longer cooling and RUSTING. Have never had a problem with AC units before!! Upgraded to LW1522IVSM 14000 BTU Dual Inverter AC for features and power but its USELESS now — while our older model (different brand) AC is still kickin after many years of use. Out of limited 1 year warranty leaves not much choice but to pay for repair or pay for new AC

                                        Quiet, EFFICIENT, high CFM
                                        Went to Home Depot intending to buy the 22,000 BTU for my pole barn after having already used one for a year in my house. Delighted to find this updated SKU. Very quiet and low vibration with the dual inverter rotary compressors. The loudest thing about it from indoors is the fan when set to high, but it is not a problem for me, because I would still consider it very quiet. Can ramp up to 500CFM and cool/dry loads of air. Energy saver at 80F is my favorite mode.

                                          Premature DECAY
                                          I've purchased this LG window air conditioner from Home Depot last July 2021. The unit worked great for the most part however after just a few months of use I've notice some very premature decay of the condenser coil. You can literally see holes and rust eating the coil. Something I would expect 2-3 years down the line, not only a few months. With the unit being warrantied for 1 year, I proceeded to contacting LG customer care who sent a technician to survey the unit. I was told nothing was wrong so nothing would be done. Please make yourself a big favor. Do not buy anything LG as their product are extremely cheaply made and so is their warranty that warranties nothing but a waste of your time. Please take a look for yourself of the decay after only 4 months of use in Southern California. ~ Life is Good ! LG

                                            Very Quiet and Efficient
                                            Quietest Air conditioner hands down. When I purchased this the description had it as a slide out chassis which would have made my life easier when I was installing it in my wall. Much to my surprise it is a non removable chassis. I was able to make some aluminum side brackets to anchor it to the studs using the holes for side curtains. It worked out well but should the unit need service instead of sliding it out of the chassis I have to completely remove it. The unit is quiet and very powerful. It’s almost undetectable that it is on when using low fan. Much quieter than the Fredrich Khul that I replaced. The Fredrich was not bad it just was so noisy we could not sleep. All in all a great unit.

                                            Mounted in garage wall for our gym no problem.
                                            Needed something strong and easy to install through the wall in the garage. going through stucco etc. The unit comes with a sleeve which I used to measure the frame. The sleeve is mounted to the unit when opened, simply removed four screws to slide it out. When turning it on there is a lot of cool air coming out. Will have to wait for a hot day to truly test it. So far, We are very happy with it.
