LG; wish it had some old options
Needed to replace former LG refrigerator of 5 years. Quickly available and seems great. Not so happy with the noise that is made with the freezer ice maker - but grateful to have door and freezer ice makers for when in high demand. Also we were used to the split shelves in refrigerator to allow bottles to be stored instead of just one of door shelves.

Good fridge bad compressor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LG refrigerator compressor went bad after 6 years. Parts covered under warranty but labor was not. Its not a DIY fix either. Still cost about 1/3 the price of new refrigerator. Technician was GREAT! I got on the schedule in 1 day which is important when your refrigerator isn't working. He was on time and called with updates. Job was done correctly and quickly and cleaned up too. I just wish the labor costs were included when this is a known issue with this compressor.

Best Fridge design EVER

There's just a lot of great feathures that are well thought out.
The only Con is witj the electrical coming from the top I can't open my cupboard doors & I hope it lasts more than 8 years unlike my old LG.

DO NOT BUY WISH WE DIDN’T
Fridge is an absolute lemon. Compressor since 2017 has had to be replaced 4 times. Yes that is correct FOUR times. I really wish I could sink this fridge in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Unfortunately since we live in a townhouse and dimensions are odd we have to keep it. I would not recommend anyone looking to buy LG appliances as they are total garbage.

Average performance with some issues
This refrigerator was operating normally for five years. Literally no problems at all, and I was very happy to have it. Eight months out of warranty the compressor (which was still covered) failed seemingly overnight. Ten days later it has been repaired; the compressor was covered but the labor and parts were not. So far, so good.

Compressor repair
Having a 10 year warranty on the compressor was very helpful but not being able to get a longer warranty for labor is expensive. We never expected to have the compressor go out after only 6 years. The delivery time was quite slow and took almost a week before we could get the part replaced.

Buy at your own risk
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have this model LG french door refrigerator, along with a much larger LG french door frig in our duplex. Both models have had the compressor fail, along with the coil and other parts. It takes 2-weeks just to get parts from LG, then the repairs take at least a half day to perform. Fortunately, we always buy a 5-year warranty on appliances, otherwise it would cost a fortune to fix it or to buy a new one altogether. This is our 3rd LG, the first was the same large model we had that required all the parts to be replaced to get it going. More importantly, it took 6-repair trips and trying one part after another until it was finally fixed. It appears LG does not use very reliable parts and you are destined to have major repair problems if you buy one of their products. Not a good brand to purchase in refrigerators.

I bought this unit looking for a good product. This refrigeratorr has has many cooling problems with the freezer and frig. We had approximately 9 house calls to replace major sealed components to no avail. The unit was scrapped at my expense due to warranty clauses.

Only 3 years old and already having problems
Our ice maker has been having low production and it turns out we need to replace the whole door. This fridge is only 3 years old but is, of course, out of warranty. I would not recommend.

Will never buy LG again
I purchased this LG refrigerator in November 2016. On July 3, 2023 the compressor died. I expect a refrigerator to last longer than 6 1/2 years. LG comes highly recommended by Consumer Reports but I don't think I will rely on that in the future.
