Beautiful oak flooring
I bought a box online to sample of the Ross Lake Oak Lifeproof Engineered Hardwood. I am installing in a house I'm renovating to sell. In the pics, I show the flooring next to samples of the Lifeproof Bamboo Hillside (laying on top), the Lifeproof LVF Fresh Oak (middle left), and Lifeproof LVF Dusk Cherry (bottom left). I bought a box online since they didn't have samples in the store. The coloring is midway between the Fresh Oak (which is more pink) and Dusk Cherry (which is more gray). The Ross Lake is a light oak with tones of very light yellow, beige. gray, slight pink (more makeup-y than true pink), and light brown with a very slight white wash. You definitely see more wood than white. It looks like typical French oak flooring. I love that it varies in coloring, but not so much that it looks like different species of wood, like some do. It comes in varying lengths. And one piece did arrive with a 1" chipped edge, although it was packed well. It is wood, so splintering can happen. Just because it says it's "lifeproof" doesn't mean you can drag something heavy across it. You wouldn't do that on solid hardwood flooring. This is hardwood flooring but thinner. 7mm is thick for engineered hardwood though. I also went to competitor (LL) to see a French oak style engineered hardwood; and it was was only 1.7mm of wood at the same price, and without the waterproofing or backing. It was mdf backed (yikes). The Ross Lake feels really good under foot. I also ordered Shasta Oak, which is not pictured (sorry); and it had a darker bluish gray tone. Not what I was looking for. I have one more ordered to sample; but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the Ross Lake. It's very pretty, classy.

This is the closest we will ever own to true hardwood flooring and are very pleased to date with it. In today’s busy lifestyle we really wanted a modern DIY flooring which had minimal care requirements but fit the rustic look of our home. The selling point which made us desire this one was the “no repeats” of the pattern. The biggest down-side to most drop-lock flooring is the frequency of the repeating pattern in our minds; that is guaranteed not to happen with this! The Janka rating was well above adequate since we were putting in our highest traffic area. Install went smooth, pieces locked in easily and well (we do own a CalFlor Adjustable Professional Pull Bar that works amazing) and are a heavy quality so minimal breakage on the edges and we were impressed with the heft of each plank being of only 7mm thickness. Only been down for 1 month and I feel it takes years to know the quality, but beyond happy to date.

The product description states that this is 3/4", however the specifications state it is only 7mm which is just over a 1/4". 7mm is correct... it is not 3/4". That said, it is still a pretty nice floor. The surface is made from real wood, not a print, which means the pieces will look more random. They come in three different lengths: 16", 32", and 48", which will help make random pattern when laying them down. The waterproof nature is great. You don't have to worry about swelling that occurs instantly from cheap MDF flooring, and it won't shrink or expand like traditional hardwood. The surface does have a little roughness to it. This may be good for traction, though I suspect it may require a little more elbow grease when it comes time to clean them as though rough spots will hang on to dirt. Installation is as easy as any other click flooring. It goes down very quickly.

Ordered this flooring over others because of 5 reasons: 1. it looks like wide boards, not narrow strip wood. 2. The pad is pre-attached to each plank. 3. It has a good water resistance rating. 4. The wood has excellent scratch and dent resistance. and 5. The wood looks real because it is real. It was a plus to see that there are three different lengths of planks so joints can be properly staggered adding to the ease of installation. This is a very hard product and with the rubber backing pad, cutting is very hard on blades. I would recommend using a dedicated blade, preferably a 7-1/4" carbide tipped even if cutting on a table saw. The residential lifetime warranty makes this a great value.

      Color not true to picture!
We waited two and a half weeks for this floor to come in. When it finally arrived to our surprise it was not even close to the picture on Home Depot’s web site. Ten shades darker !

I have to admit I was a little hesitant to take on this remodeling project with all the nooks, crannies and no straight walls in our home. But Lifeproof Shenandoah Oak 6.5 inch wide Hardwood Flooring made this job so easy. The instructions provided is very clear on how to install this flooring as well as giving you a suggested list of tools you will need for installation. If you are installing this flooring in an older home, I would suggest having a jig saw and oscillating saw handy as I did. In each box of 10 planks there is 8 each 48 inch planks, 2 each 32 inch planks and 2 each 16 inch planks. The flooring is about 5/16 inch thick including the padding that is part of the flooring. As far as durability of this flooring, we have three 130+ pounds English Mastiffs that are constantly running in and out doors in all weather, the dirt and mud is easy to clean up and we have got no scratches on this flooring. The flooring gives our kitchen and hallway a beautiful country look compared to the old gray carpet that was on the floor.

Beautiful hardwood flooring! If you are wanting genuine wood flooring without the high cost of a professional installation, this is the way to go. The click lock feature and the attached underlaying pad are brilliant! Installation is a breeze and, without the need for adhesive, it goes very quickly. We started in our entryway to show you how it looks, and will be continuing into the living room (just need to pull out the carpeting.) It has beautiful warm wood tones, is waterproof and highly scratch resistant. A great product!

Amazing product! Kitchen install went very smoothly after opening all cartons to see how many pieces of which size the boxes contained. Some have more longer planks than others. The beveled edges were all intact...not so with some we have used before...chips, etc. Love the color variations and texture of the flooring. Wider planks = faster installation time. I did a 24 hour water test with no issues at all. The textured backing is very useful, also. Should hold up to normal household living pretty well. Easy to care for is a plus all around. Completely satisfied so far. and recommend without reservation!

The LIFEPROOF SHENANDOAH OAK 6.5 IN. W X VARYING LENGTH ENGINEERED WATERPROOF CLICK LOCK HARDWOOD FLOORING (21.67 SQ. FT. / CASE) was installed in my dining room and a spare bedroom that adjoins the dining room. The flooring went together easily without much trouble and stayed together even where the floor was not even. Being waterproof it makes for easy cleanup when something is spilled.

Haven't installed the floor yet because the trim moldings are not available. They are on the HD website but show they are "discontinued". That's pretty terrible to sell the floor but not sell the trim moldings.

Boards fall apart or warp just outside of the warranty window. Would not recommend this flooring will go with an LVP or actual hardwood option if I ever do floors again

I recently purchased the Engineering Hardwood Click Lock Waterproof flooring for my kitchen floor from the Home Depot. I’m very satisfied with this product because it’s very easy and convenient to install on my kitchen floor. Basically I just need to install the Waterproof flooring on top of the ceramic tiles. Because the Hardwood Flooring was Click Lock, I do not need to smash the original ceramic tiles floor. It really save a lot of time and energy to install. Thanks the Home Depot providing this high quality flooring.

Floor scratches easier than hoped. Easy to install and looks nice but really disappointed in how it claims to be able to handle some wear and tear but showing to not handle it very well at all.

I ordered this floor for my studio thinking it was this light pinkish floor that is pictured. BEWARE - Home Depot had the WRONG photos for this item on their website!! After I paid my $ and it showed up, the floor was in Whitney Oak boxes, but DARK BLUE-GRAY floor. I really wish I knew what floor these pictures truly are bc it would have been perfect. I had to return all the ugly blueish floor. Dear Home Depot - it would really help if you had actual samples of each floor at your stores. Doesn’t need to be take-honey samples. Have it behind the counter or in a book so people can double check they are actually getting what they paid for.

The color and plank size was nice however, the top “wood” layer of each plank was extremely thin and flimsy. Wouldn’t recommend.

          Beautiful Floor!
I bought this for a relatively small project. For one I will say that as far as installations go, it was the easiest flooring I have ever installed. It also has built in variation because each piece of flooring is a different size. I thought this was clever and it really did look great when I was done. All that being said, I did NOT install this flooring around any water source because it is engineered hardwood. It was very lightly used in my case!
