Well, unless you’re into a heavy rust patina. Two of these fans have been in an enclosed ceiling outdoor porch for about four years. Exposed to nothing but morning dew. As you can imagine looking at the photos, they’ve looked pretty bad for a while now, and they’ve become such an eyesore that my wife finally made me take them down. I spoke with the nice lady, Ashley, at Minka customer care, and was told they don’t warrant the finish for more than a year. So, you have been forwarned that these fans - and likely every ‘outdoor’ fan Minka makes – are really not suited for outdoor use. Unless you’re into rust…

This is our 3rd Minka Aire fan in the house. I have purchased other brands that I have been happy with but the Minka Aire fans are simple to install and work flawlessly so when we needed another it was a no brainer!

For upwards of $300, I expected something better than flimsy plastic blades. And I don't know what genius designed the fan blade bracket installation, but they clearly had more than two hands. It's the only way I can understand creating a bracket you have hold with one hand, while holding the blade in place with another, all while trying to twist your body so that, while on a ladder, you can see up into the fan assembly ALL while trying to hold the fan still to prevent turning while you're trying to screw the bolts in. And then finally, do not put the summer/winter switch on the remote right beside the speed dial. I can't tell you how many times, in just two weeks, I've had to turn the fan off, wait for it to completely stop and THEN change direction. Believe me, the little switch normally found on the housing is enough. All in all, if I weren't so lazy, and didn't want to uninstall the thing and then go find another one and install IT, I'd get my money back.

To be honest, I was only familiar with other brands of fans, but I saw this online and this is by far the best choice for a room fan! It's beautiful to the eye! Petite. Does not make any noise at all and it cools wonderfully! I installed 3 in my rooms and got the 52" for the living room, so 4 fans total. I did it myself and it was seriously very straightforward.

The fan is extremely quiet. The wall switch that was supplied by the manufacturer is easy to operate. I really like that it has a low profile. The fan speed is adjustable on 3 settings and the light is also dimable.

It worked perfectly for about 15 minutes. Then, for some unknown reason, it only would run clockwise at slow speed. I called tech support who told me I needed a new receiver and that they would send one right away. Two weeks later, no receiver and no response to my emails to tech support. Taking it back to store for a refund.

I did not install but my contractor did. I love the wall control very easy to understand. Flush mount is perfect.

The fan is quiet and powerful. The design is modern yet easy to clean. Remote control easy to operate and handy to have.

The light fixtures have tiny holes in the center. Is this for a pull chain? I don’t need a pull chain as mine has wall switch. I was also supposed to get a remote which was not included. This was an expensive fan. It works fine otherwise.

So disappointed in this product! We had this fan professionally installed and it looks great, but after running it a couple of times it began making a loud clicking noise that was literally loud enough to wake my daughter up at night. I had the electrician back out but they were unable to fix it; it is an internal component in the fan. I contacted The Home Depot and they are willing to replace the unit, but I would have to pay an electrician to uninstall first, send it back, and then pay for a reinstall, resulting in a price way more than the fan itself! If I had had Home Depot install, I likely would've been able to have them replace without additional charges so beware - if you cannot install yourself it may be worth having Home Depot come and install. I decided to leave the fan and run it in reverse but now, months later it is making the same clicking sound in reverse too. The manufacturer is no help either, they just say I have to deal with the seller. Ugh. I would recommend trying another product for this amount of money.

Its a good fan. Its a little small for our space. This fan has a warp in it, so we are going to return it and get the larger size up.

Beautiful fan. Well packaged with clear installation guide. Took less than 4 hr to install. The fan runs very ... very quiet and is very well balanced. Well worth the money!

Quality fan, very easy to hang. The blades are much sturdier than most. Plastic, yes, but high-quality. Only negative is the switch which has to be hard-wired. It feels terribly fragile and flimsy — doesn’t really match the sturdy fan itself.

Fan looks great. Doesn’t push as much as I hoped, but might be due to being outside.

Installed easily - seems to work well. I haven't seen it in the rain yet, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars

Great fan - Nice looking - Easy to install, installed myself in about 15 minutes - only issue is I wish light would dim to low and stop and not recycle to high - makes it awkward to find low dim setting -
