For a small 12 Volt Impact Driver, this really packs a punch. It fits easily in my hand, barely feels like there is any weight. It gets into tight spaces easily because of its small size. The 2.0Ah batteries last quite a while. I think if I had to drive screws for hours on end, I would purchase larger batteries (4.0Ah), but if using for cabinet/pocket screw assemblies in a shop environment, this is perfect and it comes with a second battery. The speed setting are great, especially the Assist Mode that turns fast until it senses that more torque is needed then is slows down and stops when the fastener is tight to prohibit stripping of screw heats or breaking screws off at the thread. The LED light is nice as well. Highest recommendation given for this Impact Driver. I have not found anything that didn't meet my expectations yet.

Perfect for my occasional, light duty, use. Perfect add on for my other tools in the same 12 volt CXT series.

I am a electrician and this tool is great for what I do the low torque setting is good 4 outlets but still has power for hanging panels

Love the power and weight I wish makita had the dual charger like Milwaukee does with their small and big battery options.

I've wanted this little gem for quite awhile now. Now that I have it and have used it for about a week I wish I had bought it sooner. A joy to use! And full of power! I have multiple makita cordless tools including three different 18v impact drivers. (I know...) This 12v brushless is my new favorite!

Love it, the 3 different settings are nice. It has good power. I was driving 3 inch deck screws. Does the job for me.

Great little impact driver

Absolutely incredible tool. Super lightweight, no other competitor comes close. Very durable. Has plenty of power to drive 3-1/2" deck screws fast. Perfect for working in tight places and especially overhead. Can't get a better impact for driving small wood screws, the slow speed setting helps the user from over-driving.

reoccurring power issue where I pull the trigger and the motor will turn over less than a quarter turn, and then stop. Happens at random while. Experienced the same issue with 18v brushed impact. Have always loved makita. Starting to lose faith in brand.

Had for over a month am the battery still hasn’t gave up this is an amazing tool I highly recommend this it’s also lightweight awesome!!!!!!!!

Great product

I have a 20v Dewalt driver that has brute force. But this Makita is elegant and smooth. I’m getting screws in that used to get stripped without any stripping and it’s easy to drive them in. It is also super light and easy to hold. Pair this with the makita xps bits and you will have a wonderful bit of kit for all your Impact driving tasks.

Adjustable speed, solid power, and super smooth operation between the brushless motor and Makita’s general attention to smooth mechanics, plus being just so small makes this an extremely balanced 12V impact driver. Besides just feeling good in operation, the smooth operation and brushless motor helps the tool achieve great battery life even with Makita’s diminutive 2Ah packs. It’s not going to have the power of their brushless 18V impacts. As such I think this one is happier if you drill pilot holes first for larger screws going into plywood or anything harder. Which of course is what you should be doing anyway on any projects where you want to leave a nice clean surface. Very nice that it has a lower speed setting too. Although it’s not as easy to inadvertently wreck delicate projects with this one as it is Makita’s higher-end 18V impacts, it’s still nice to be able to dial down the power when you want that extra finesse. I actually run my impacts at lower speed settings the majority of the time for this reason.

Great product

Put mine in the trash can yesterday. Have owned it for more than a year, as a secondary driver when either someone else works with me in my shop or the Dewalt impact is on a project. Has always been underpowered and the battery life has been poor. I'm a person who almost always pilot holes screws. Yesterday, using Advantech, made a base for a vanity. Assembly accomplished mainly with pre-piloted 2" square drive screws. Last joint required pocket screws. I could not get the magnetic driver out of chuck - tried reversing a screw, lightly tapping with a mallet, pulling with pliers, finally had to hit it on concrete floor for pliers to withdraw bit. Then the pot metal chuck wouldn't take a new one...in the trash it went. Drill driver not much better - bits 1/8" and under often slip; underpowered too. Very disappointing tools. Have Makita cordless router and it's a five star. What's up with their 12 volt line?

Very compact fits in my hand great power to get the job done

My other impact driver is 4 lbs with battery. This one is 2 lbs. I wanted a lighter tool. The fit and finish, the smooth operation lives up to the name. The battery seems to go on endlessly. There's only one flaw - every time you insert or remove a bit you're gonna have to pull the collar, making it a 2-handed operation. My other impact driver is spring loaded requiring only one hand. However, this doesn't take away from the 5-star rating since for many jobs the bit stays in there anyway.

Comfortable and well balanced. Excellent trigger response through the RPM range, and has the highest tork in its class. The BL Brushless Motor delivers 1,200 in. lbs. of max torque in an ultra compact design. Love it!!!
