Awesome product. Comparable or better to gas powered saw. Only issue is does not come with makita bar and chain oil and the oil is not easy to find.

My husband LOVES his new chainsaw!! It was an anniversary present for 29 years of marriage! The year for tools! Perfect choice and I did my homework to get the perfect chainsaw. My husband being a carpenter has pretty high standards and he truly loves this chainsaw. Love to make him smile!

Made quick work of cutting palm fronds and didn’t get out of breathe trying to start the tool like the old gas one.

The saw requires that you press the on/off button too often. If the saw is not running for more than 3 - 5 seconds you must press the on button again. I can understand if you didn't run the saw for say 30 seconds but just a few seconds is not practical. The chain tension knob is too difficult to push, It also appears to be the weakest part of the saw.

Saw is light enough to hold up high for cutting post tops battery life better than expected And it looks cool

Would have given it 6 stars if possible. This chainsaw certainly embraces the quality we have come to expect from Makita. Understand that this saw is being used in a domestic, clean-up-the-windfall, scenario. Be sure to order the Makita chain oil specifically & follow the initial "oil fill" instructions.

Exceeded my expectations! Plenty of power to get the job done. I love the low maintenance and no mixing oil/gas. No smelly fumes either.

This saw works great. Light weight, powerful and quiet. I cut up a pile of small limbs from 1" to about 4" - 5" in diameter running the saw for about 2 1/2 hrs. on one set of batteries with some charge remaining. As with any chainsaw, keeping the chain sharp makes all the difference. With a minimum of care, I expect this tool to perform well for a long time. Very happy with my purchase.

A little heavier than I expected, but not too bad. It leaked a little chain oil at the spot where I placed it after the first use. Not sure what that's about. Power was good. Noise level compared to a gas powered machine is very good. Battery life is somewhat limited, I guess you could buy more batteries if you need more continuous run time. Two sets of batteries seems good for me so far. The amount I cut leaves me with plenty to do for a while after the batteries are dead.

Had a difficult time finding a replacement chain for my makita. The part number was NOT available on searches

This chain saw was purchased for light to medium cutting on a residential property; mainly pruning and removal of unplanned small trees. It has ample power and the battery charge lasts much longer than I expected.

Almost no assembly required, only thing not in the package is bar oil. Add some bar oil and pull the trigger and you’ve got a great electric chainsaw.

I like this little saw a lot it cuts perfect.

Works amazing for a home owner. Made quick work of the trees and cleaned them up too. I cut down five trees from 4-6 inches diameter oak, maple and pine on one charge of the 2 18v 5amp batteries
