Solid, well made tool. Lots of torque. And it works with the same battery system.

Stop working after 4 months

Purchased this drill in a drill/impact combo kit sold at home depot worked great for 3 years and, just recently I believe the gear box is going out. It will pop out of 2nd gear under heavy load (hole saw, paint mixer) and will grind until I shift it to first then back to 2nd and start again and it will only work for a little bit then back to shifting. It has a very strong motor and has a very good form fit to the hand and has phenomenal efficiency, a 4.0AH battery under moderate to heavy use can last me up to 45 minutes and sometimes an hour. I highly recommend this to those trying to build a power tool collection or those novice tradesmen that need a good solid reliable drill and already have a makita equipment lineup.

Great little hammer drill. It is not heavy and works well

The hand drill is lightweight and the battery lasts a long time. Quick recharge. The 1/2" chuck is a big advantage. Highly recommended.

Great drill when it works, but the transmission broke under warranty, then later the chuck got stuck. This is under medium use in a maintenance department. If I had a choice I would have stuck with Milwaukee.

I own several Makita battery powered tools. I used the last drill so much, I wore it out!!!! I'm sure this one will last equally long!!

TV mounted. Blinds put up. Floating shelves installed. This thing is awesome. Extremely happy with this drill the battery has not ran out but it is good to know i have a back up.

Excellent! Small, lightweight and powerful. Those are the features I was looking for. And I am impressed yet again by a great Makita product. Used it for a couple weeks now. So far it has performed flawlessly. Well designed. This is just one of many makita products I have that use the same battery. Highly recommend!

Burnt the motor up in 4 years. I think that tells it all. Wish I would have got a Milwaukee.
