I suppose this works as intended, but if you plan to use it to plane large, flat surfaces, I would look elsewhere. It works well for shaving small edges but this will not give you a big flat surface. I found a couple uses for it, so I won't return it, but it was not what I was looking to buy.

Bought it to perfectly level the joists of a 14’x14’...
Bought it to perfectly level the joists of a 14’x14’ 12” o.c. deck. Since I was going with Deckorators composite decking, I did not want any waving. This thing went through the joists w/o effort at the different settings I was trying.
