If you are seeing footprints and streaks it's likely due to the mop head being used. you can put these in your washing machine to clean the mop heads. Maple is a smooth closed grain wood and due to the nature of the wood itself can show this. But more importantly it seems there is a residue left on the surface which should not be there when cleaned with proper hardwood flooring cleaners. Simple trick - take some Bona and a paper towel. Spray on a window. Wipe clean. Leaves nothing behind.
