Nice door. It stained well.

The door was badly scuffed. It took several hours of work to get most of the scuffs out; some are still present, just lighter. The manufacturer's QC was very poor.

There are a few dents and dings on the side that will be in the interior of the closet that I can live with Otherwise the product delivered would have been excellent

The veneer was defective, VERY noticeably.

It's very difficult to apply stain and vanish, the color does not come out even, it has patches of dark strips, very ugly.

Just the right door for my 1970s house. Very well made and very nicely priced for this common bedroom size, 32" x 80". Cut to fit and Stain to match your other doors. Looks great!

The door was in good shape with no major flaws when I received it. I do like the wood grain in the veneer. In boring the hole for the door knob, I was surprised to find how small the interior wood was for holding the knob in place. There was, just barely, enough wood for the hole and support the knob. I haven't worked with a slab door for several years. In seems like the amount of wood in a hollow core door gets less and less, each year. I have the door installed and it works fine.

I was renovating a 1960's house, all birch doors and all birch kitchen cabinets, the classic mid-century house. Some of the doors were beat up so bad they were not salvageable.1960's birch doors are not made anymore, this is it unless you make one yourself from scratch.So this is it. For the money and effort these are pretty good. The right and left edges are made out of pine so those pieces accept stain differently than the birch face. So you have to use a slight different color stain on the edges to match a stained birch face. The tops and bottom are a masonite product, which is kind of weird, because what could the cost have been to just make it out of pine like the sides. You can't see it, so, what ever. The face is made of a single peeled piece of birch so there are no seams. That would be good EXCEPT that of the 2 doors I bought, all faces had big blotches of white coloring in the grain. It took some tricky staining to get a uniform color across all the door faces. Another aspect that was troubling was the packaging on the door during shipping..there wasn't any. Not even a cheesy plastic wrap. The corners were protected by cardboard but the faces were open to possible shipping dings. Both of my doors arrived in good shape, so I thank the shippers for their care. But The door is just a veneer and if there is a large scratch on the face, there is not enough depth of birch to do too much restorative sanding. Check your door closely before accepting it. But all that said, I'd recommend it and I'm going to get more. You just have to be forewarned of possible shipping hazards and massage them more to make them look original.

Used for a closet door in a rental unit, Took stain well and looks good in the bedroom.

There is not hard wood te sides and top bottom. In other words you have to trim from all sides as the wasanot enough reinforcement to cut on one side.

This product was poorly made. I had to use wood glue to repair it before I could think of using it. Terrible coloring. Not at all like the picture.

We needed a large table to put several computers monitors on, and couldn't find what we needed that was big enough, and didn't have a lot of money to spend, so we made a table out of this slab door! We made the legs out of 4x4's and made a base for the door to sit on for support out of 2x4's so it wouldn't sag since it's hollow, and since it wouldn't be moved around much, we just glued the door to the frame with liquid nails. We painted it, and it's a table that suits our needs just fine. If you wanted a more sturdy table, you could get a solid wooden slab door.
