I love this planter. This is the second one I have purchased. The self watering feature is a definite plus. It looks great with a trellis in it for vining plants or tomatoes.

The planters came fully assembled and were very sturdy and well built. I bought them to enable us to create a hedge to keep the deer out of our yard. I wanted to elevate the plants as much as possible so that the holly plants would attain as much height as possible as soon as possible. The Homeowners Association at this point only allows wooden fences but no restrictions on plants.The Holly plants are loving their new home.

A self watering pot that doesn’t provide a method to add water to the reservoir is useless. The option to drill a hole (with the plug provide) is ludicrous!

Hi Zyb, please note that the water reservoir will fill naturally just by watering your plants as normal or by collecting rainfall. When the planters are watered as normal though the potting mix, any excess water that cannot be absorbed by the potting mix will filter through and fill the reservoir. Once the reservoir is filled, excess water will drain from the pre-drilled overflow drain hole preventing your plants from becoming overwatered or flooded. The optional fill port/end of season drain hole plug is provided so customers may have the option to fill the reservoir directly however this is not required for the planter/reservoir to function as intended.

Hi David, we're sorry to hear that this planter did not work out for your needs. You are correct that the planting depth of this planter is a total of 13" which allows for excess water to be held in the base beneath the planting area that creates a 9 Gal water reservoir and self-watering system.

Looks great; modern and sophisticated but very lightweight. 4 stars due to the fact that water holes in the bottom needed to be repunched as they weren’t fully opened at manufacturing.

The planters are nice looking and good quality. classic design , sturdy and large! will hold several established plants so will make handsome arrangements. Not sure about the self watering feature, yet? So far so good! Seem like they will hold up for more than a season! They have a warranty too
