After shopping all over, looking at all types of natural and synthetic flooring we decided to try this one for a remodel on a bedroom. I am SO glad we chose this one. This floor is absolutely beautiful! Even though we have no experience installing, it was easy. We watched a few video tutorials and had no problem. You should definitely buy the installation kit that has the spacers and block. I like this floor because it has the beauty and feel that only comes from real wood and unlike veneer type products this is real wood all the way through, made like plywood with sheets of wood vs sawdust filler base of the cheaper laminates. What this means is if you scratch or mar it you can just dab some Danish oil on and it vanishes. They say it can be refinished one time. We liked this floor so well that we decided to do a second room this year and just finished that one. Absolutely perfect, I can't say enough about this wonderful floor! The rich color and beautiful grain of the wood look sharp. It is well made, out of 14 cases we had only two with any warp and even those we were able to cut and use for edges. Made in USA as well. All I can say is if you find yourself having trouble installing or getting pieces to fit then it's a problem with technique because we found it was easy to work with and got a very tight fit between the joints. Finished each room in one afternoon.

The area preparation was challenging so I was extremely glad the floor went down so easily and quickly. It looks good and has held for several weeks. With more confidence I have decided to continue doing it myself moving on to the next area. Good instructions and although I had a few cutting areas, I had ordered the extra flooring as suggested, which came in useful.

I was very nervous about buying this product but I turned out to love it. It was easy to put together. Of course there were some worped boards in the boxs but that's expected. I plan on using this in my other two rooms.

This flooring is very easy to install and very durable. I install it in my living room, hallway, and dinning room in 2010. installed it in the kitchen and the breakfast area in 2017. There is a very slight color difference. The newer flooring is a little darker. This could be caused by the older flooring being exposed to the sun. Very well pleased with the product.

I installed about 400 sq ft of this floor. It's actually pretty nice once you get the groove. The flooring itself looks great. I will say it does damage easily so it's not "hardwood" as the sales people would have you believe. I found the colors and grains to match up and make a great looking floor. I didn't find any defective boards and I bought a pallet at my local store and had 3 shipped to me. Some Heritage Mill and some Millstead. Although the names are different the product is identical. When installing, I found it easiest to use a small piece of flooring and a hammer to tap into place worked the best. Do no waste your money on the Roberts kit. Using the flooring is nice because the board you are tapping will also lock and lay flat letting you know everything is fully seated. The tiny pieces can go together by hand but a hammer will be needed for most of it. When using a board to tap, it will be destroyed so be ready for some clean up. I used one 18 inch or so piece and did the entire floor. A worthy sacrifice. That board is only an inch thick in some spots, it will splinter and destruct so be ready. The only thing I missed due to poor instructions was it tells you to start with the tongue against the wall. Now you have to space this as it's a floating floor. Between the spacing and the tongue your baseboard will not cover the gap. Now I have to make itty bitty fill pieces. I wish the instructions said to rip down the tongue on the starting row. Aside from that I like this floor.

    Good flooring
The subfloor needs to be very level with all weak spots replaced with new subfloor prior to installation.

    Nice Product
I know some people complain about this product but I had no issues whatsoever. It looks great and is easy to install. For the price, you cant beat the value. As with any floor like this it can be scratched. I have put down 3/4" hardwood (nail down), laminate, vinyl, glue down parquet and others and so far this was the easiest to do. I only had one piece which was unusable. I wouldn't use this in a heavy traffic area unless you use a rug.

Floor looks Absolutly stunning, relatively easy to install
Looks good, easy install, not a very hard surface though , when moving refrigerator over it it left tracks in the wood also when used a step stool to paintit left dents every where from the legs( I only weigh 200) not as hard as solid wood

    Easy to install floating floor
We looked at a lot of different flooring options and decided on an engineered hardwood floor. A floating floor isn't nailed down which was important for us because we had installed under floor radiant heat. This product is rated for radiant heat and installation went smoothly. The finish and the color was consistent and we were able to finish this 14'x18' room in 2 days.

Very happy with purchase. Makes rooms look much better. Glad I did it.
Experience I had shopping for product at Home Depot was excellent. Selected product, went on line and made my purchase. Shipping company delivered on time. No fuss no muss. Installation was easy -- measure, cut, click and snap. Now very happy made decision to use product and color. Also ordered new vacuum cleaner designed for use on wood floors. Everything we needed was at Home Depot.

absolutely dismayed at the integrity of the flooring. installed summer of 2012 - very easy to install - but does not stand up
floor surface easily mars, scratches and dents with minimal use. very disappointed. installed summer of 2012, only two people live in the house...so not much traffic however easily scratches and dents. We entertained for the holidays and a 90-lb women with heels dented the floor just by walking...the floor looks awful for the money this floor costs/sq ft

    Pretty but not good quality
This flooring was put down by the owners before me when they renovated in 2016. We bought the house in 2022 and I was dismayed how bad the floors looked upon close inspection… I thought their kids must have been unimaginably rough in the house. However after 2 years of living here, I see that this wood just can’t hold up to any kind of wear and tear at all without making scratches, dents and chips.

Color and finish is completely different from what I bought a few years ago. I am considering tearing it all out.

The product is not as great as I had hoped. It splinters and chips off while manhandling. I was trying to match the flooring from before wherein I had other brand of engineered hardwood flooring but the color matched with the Heritage flooring so I decided to buy it. I have just installed one bedroom so far. I will review again after few months and see how it works.

      Sad.
This is very nice looking wood flooring. However, that's where it stops. I have been trying to get this stuff to work for more than 6 months. I'm not sure why people leave such great reviews. It certainly wasn't great for me. I'm going to have to turn this crap into firewood. It would not go together under any circumstances, and I tried numerous times to make it work. If it went together then it would work itself out and leave gaps that were more than visible. Don't buy this stuff.

This flooring was garbage, warped the routed edges were different widths and thickness. I was already committed to installing with old carpeting removed and furniture spread around other rooms. I found out if cut the flooring down in length and route the ends I could make it fit not great but OK. Don't worry I plan on going into your store and let them know. Just so you know I installed 3 Home Legend floors with no trouble. I know nothing will be done with this review but I want other people to look somewhere else for their flooring not the Home Depot in Homer Glen IL. or any other.

        Easy installation with good quality
Installation was easy and the final result looked great. I highly recommend this. According to the specification, no acclimation is required. Does that mean these floor will not expand/contract?
