I picked this bit up for a tile project, to drill holes in cement board in the shower and bath. It is not a real demanding job for this tool which is professional grade. Using a standard drill, rather than the hammer drill it calls for, it punched a hole in 1/2 inch cement board in about a second. It should last a long time, it feels very heavy duty.

I occasionally need a concrete masonry bit for various projects and wanted to have this Milwaukee hammer drill bit for the next project. This 1” carbide hammer drill bit can be used for concrete, bricks, and cinder type blocks. This bit bores a 1’ diameter hole and has an overall length of 6”, including the 4” cutting portion. It is sure-grip, with three flat sides on the shank, which prevents slippage of the bit. It is good quality.

Milwaukee, always the best design, best material, and best production under the stars. But I am a bit biased, been a fan of Milwaukee since they where made here in the states, even with external production, their products ie: drill bit, meet and excell the competition. Plus the look of their red has become synonmous with quality, and can be seen redily on the job site. Packed well. Love the hex shank......................................

I will be using this 7/8-inch bit in a standard (1/2" drive) hammer drill. Being it is a Milwaukee designed bit I didn't have any reservation that it would not work. Before using it in the field I wanted to see how it performed, how fast it would drill as well as dust removable. The 3-sided shank allows you to get a good tight fit on the bit. The third and fourth pics. below are close ups of the shank and carbide tip. The fifth pic. is of, probably a 50 yr. old piece of block. The sixth pic. is of a piece of 1 1/2" concrete stepping stone, about 3 yrs. old. If you look closely you can see the difference in the dust from the two blocks. Standing above the two blocks and with little pressure it only took 5-6 seconds to drill a 7/8" hole. Even though I only drilled about 3 inches, wiping off the tip it looked brand new. Concrete, block or brick, if you need a masonry bit from 1/4" to 1" you owe it to yourself to look at this line of bits.

Milwaukee comes through again. At a great value point. There is a rectangular deck on the front of our house that is bordered on and, attached to faux stone covered stem walls. Aka “stucco stone”. There is a large decorative fountain outside the front wall. I was replacing the old deck due to dry rot. Since I had the old deck completely torn out, I decided to add an electrical outlet and a water connection on the face of the wall for the fountain. The fountain had been on an extension cord and I had to fill it with a hose since before we moved it. Adding these features meant drilling two holes from the backside of the faux stone. Not a particularly difficult task. But, I didn’t have any masonry bits the sized I needed to accomplish this. And, I really didn’t want to spend what I assumed to be $40 to $50 for a new bit for this single use. Then along came this Milwaukee offering at under $20. I’ve never gone wrong with Milwaukee so, I picked one up. I was able to effortlessly drill the holes I needed using my hammer drill and this bit. It drilled right through the light metal flashing without the point walking away. The whole is very clean through several layers of material. There are some future uses I can see applying this ½” bit to in upcoming projects after all. I’m glad I got it. To give you an idea of the capabilities of this bit, when I drilled or, attempted to drill, a hole on the back wall opposite from the face wall, so that a water pipe could pass through, I ended up drilling 6” or more into a solid concrete step on the outside of the back wall that I miscalculated the relative height of. The bit wasn’t coming through although it was buried up to the arbor before I realized I had drilled right into the side of those steps!

This Carbide Hammer Drill Bit is used for stone and concrete. The bit is well made and I have never had one break on me yet. I have used them dozens of times and they drill a clean hole every time. Unlike cheaper ones, these do not warp or lose their sharpness due to heat. The bit fits into most any drill and the bit keeps its form when drilling at high speeds. Most importantly, because it is well made, it does not crack the stone when drilling.

Excellent product! Received my 5/8 in. X 16 in. X 18 in. Carbide Hammer Drill Bit for concrete, stone and masonry and was very pleased. This bit cut through my concrete wall like butter - it was quick and easy and did exactly what I wanted it to do. I am liking this so much, that I intend to purchase a full set of the other available sizes. I highly recommend this to all.

This carbide hammer drill bit is designed to deliver a faster start and do less walking across concrete, brick, and block. I've only used the bit on red block so far, and it bit almost immediately into the block and there was virtually no slipping. The design definitely removes the dust quickly and the bit does not seem to get overly hot like other bits I've used. Pleased so far.

The Milwaukee Shockwave carbide hammer drill bit is an great bit to have when you need one for sure. The bit I have is 3/16 and works great for drilling into concrete, bricks and blocks. I used it to drill into my brick wall behind the fireplace to put in some hangers for items I wanted displayed. The drill bit still is sharp and will work on other projects I need it for. Nice drill bit.

This 18 inch long 5/8 inch Milwaukee carbide hammer drill bit will easily make a 5/8 inch hole in any concrete, concrete block, or brick! It is great having the 18 inch length in this bit (16 inches is usable length) so that you have enough extra length for any drilling. Milwaukee included a handy drill speed chart on the back of the packaging so be sure to keep the drill bit in this plastic sleeve so you have that for reference. As you can see from the pictures, the tip is very well-made for years of service. The bit end is marked with the size (see picture). Just picking up this bit, you know it is high quality. I highly recommend it!

This is a great product. It is only for hammer drills. For example, if you are building deck it is likely you have to drill a hole into the cement to place anchors for support posts. That is never going to happen unless you have this bit. Or, if you are putting a frost-free hose bib through your foundation, you can't open a hole unless you have this bit. This bit has a tip to start the hole, and it is rated for longer use and drilling. I used it to drill a hole under my deck to run an electric line. Yes, you have to have a hammer drill to power the drilling but you also have to have a bit that is rated for drilling concrete, stone, or masonry. Have the right tool, get the right results. The drill bit shank has three flat sides so that plus its size moves you over to a hammer drill. This bit is durable, drills through material fast, and will last a long time. I can recommend it as indispensable. Based on what it does, and what it costs, it is an easy addition to anyone's toolbox.

We’re going to do some bathroom remodeling with glass tile during the next year. My husband wanted this drill bit to add to his drill bit supplies in hopes that we will have everything we need for the job ahead. This drill bit is 2 inches long and made with carbide and a reinforced white tip for greater durability and clean drill holes. I like that the back of the package gives the drill speed for each type of material to be drilled.

This Milwaukee 1 inch x 4 inch Carbide Hammer Drill Bit is high quality and can be used for concrete, stone, masonry drilling. The overall length is 6 inches and has a 3/8 inch shank which has 3 flats to prevent slippage in the drill chuck. It is most effective when used in a hammer drill but can be used in almost any drill with a 3/8 inch chuck. The carbide cutting edges are quite large and should last a long time. You can see the quality workmanship in the machining of this drill bit as with all of the tools that Milwaukee makes. This Milwaukee line of drill bits comes in 6 and 12 inch length and from 5/16 to 1 inch in diameter. I have a few long bits to drill through masonry walls but this 6 inch version will be good to have for tighter spots where a long bit will not fit. You may find cheaper bits but you can't go wrong with the quality of the Milwaukee brand of tools.

I needed this to drill through a concrete floor to put in anchors. What I forgot to consider is the maximum recommended capacities for masonry bits as noted in the specs of my hammer drills. Turns out, my compact hammer drill by another brand recommends a maximum of 1/4”, which is laughable, and 5/8” for my Milwaukee hammer drill. So, 7/8” was above the recommended max. I’m going to need a bigger drill! This bit ultimately did what I needed it to, but only because I slowly stepped up bit sizes during the process. This is a nice bit and with a properly paired hammer drill I would not have had to proceed as thoughtfully to avoid bogging down or potentially burning out a drill. Given my drill limitations, it's hard for me to confirm the “2x faster” claim on the package. As far as “up to 5x the life in concrete,” my use was limited, but I’ve always had success with Milwaukee bits.

The Milwaukee 7/8" X 10" X 12" Carbide Hammer Drill Bit is a quality product, just as one would expect from Milwaukee. It is designed for use on concrete, cinder block and red brick, all at high speed. It claims to drill up to 2X faster and last up to 5X longer in concrete. I often have need to drill into structural concrete and have destroyed name-brand bits in just a couple of uses. My 3" test hole using this Milwaukee bit cut quick and cleanly while showing minimal wear on the tip. If it holds up I suspect I just might achieve the 5X longer claim. End-to-end is 11 7/8" long, functional length is 9" tip to last of the spiral. The shank has 3 flat edges for the drill to grip better. Made in China.

This Milwaukee 5/8 inch x 16 inch x 18 inch carbide hammer drill bit for concrete, stone and masonry drilling can be used to drill through a concrete foundation wall or cinder blocks. I acquired this drill bit to drill into a 16 inch deep concrete retaining wall. This drill bit is the perfect accessory to do the job. I do recommend this drill bit to any mason or do-it-yourselfer who needs to drill through concrete for such tasks as running cables, creating drain holes or needing to prep for inserting concrete bolts for awnings or decks.

I got the 9/16" Millwaukee carbide hammer drill bit. You can use these bits on Concrete, block or brick. The bit also has three flats ground into the shank so you won't have to worry about any slipping if the drilling gets tuff, but I don't see that being a problem with these bits. I used it to drill a hole in both sides of a concrete block in the basement to run a hose through the wall to go from the A coil pan drain to the sump pump hole in another room.

This Milwaukee Hammer drill bit is 16” long, longer than i needed but better to have enough. For the size of the bit, like it says on the package, you need to use a Hammer drill of you will burn up a standard drill if you are drill that deep. The bit is sharp and had not problem going through the 8” of concrete. From the start of the hole the bit took control of the concrete and drill it like butter. I am sure with multiple holes it will get dull as with any other bit but for now this bit is a keeper.

I wasn’t even drilling into hard concrete and these bits would break on as soon as the second hole. They are definitely not worth the money.
