Excellent product for a great price
These are the 7 in 1 model #48-22-3078 there great for everything i have used them for so far my only complaint is they wont crimp insulated connectors like there lineman pliers will which is disappointing because it would be so handy to have all in one tool now if you don't care for crimpers at all you might prefer the 6in1 there a little more compact and cheaper but i prefer the wider jaws at the tip on these for making up electrical joints the handles are very comfortable there very sharp cut like butter some say the knipex stay sharper longer but i can buy 3 pair of these before i have paid for a set of knipex and i have not had any trouble with them loosing there edge at all so far these have been great they do excellent at everything they are suppose to do at a great price if your thinking about getting them just do it i have regretted a-lot of wire strippers i have bought in the past but i don’t regret these for even a second

fixed issues with the bender head
This is my second 1/2” iron bender from Milwaukee, the first one I had purchased had a defect in the shoe which was definitely a mold issue. I returned that one to Home Depot and vowed to never get another one. I finally caved and replaced it since i had the 3/4 and 1” iron, and wanted the complete set. I had the same problem with the 1” iron which I dealt with through Milwaukee’s manufacturer warranty. Now that I have the full set free of defects I couldn’t be happier. These benders are smooth as eggs. I love that the handle is held on with a set screw instead of screwing into the head. Great weight to them, very accurate markings. Glad I gave them another chance.

Slightly longer than the 6 in 1's. The main difference I found is that they are shaped more like linesman pliers with a wide flat end rather than the more narrow jaws of the 6 in 1. Makes twisting wires a bit easier to hold onto.

Great multi tool electrical installation pliers
Nice to have all 7 tools in one little package. This tool and a 14 in 1 screw driver will complete most electrical tasks.

          Soft Metal
I've owned mine for more than a year of DIY remodeling. Not a heavy user. I only cut copper with any strippers I own never nails or ferrous materials. Through basic wiring tasks, the cutters have become marred. I'm not sure that HD reviews are representative of the product as Milwaukee's site doesn't have the same glowing and overwhelmingly positive reviews of them. They're rate 3.2 out of 5 stars. Most reviewers on their site mirror my experience with these pliers.

            Great multifunction pliers to have
These pliers are amazing! I love how many uses they have, so they are a no doubter to carry around. The wire strippers work great and are quite sharp. The pliers feel really good in the hands and I also really like how the pliers lock shut so they slip nicely into my tool bucket pouch. I would definitely recommend picking these up if you like the idea of their versatility.

              poor manufacturing
I received these in the mail today. The jaws do not touch when the handle is squeezed completely together. See the picture attached. I doubt it is supposed to be designed this way so I'm assuming it is a manufacturer defect. Poor quality control. If it is designed this way then what's the point of having pliers that don't squeeze fully? The gap is about a 16th of an inch and I noticed the same thing was mentioned in another review.

Hi Travis- Our 7IN1 High-Leverage Combination Pliers are designed to have a small gap between the two sides of the jaws. They are designed this way to do two things: one being the holes for stripping need to be separated so they don’t full cut through the wire. The second being that the pliers have a swing lock for fast, one-handed opening. The swing lock means the plier jaws will be slightly separated with the lock is engaged. If you have any other questions, you can always email us at social.media@milwaukeetool.com. Thank you! -Social Team

Very nice but a couple concerns
The cutting blades are surprisingly soft. Tried cutting a flag stake and damaged the blade. The gauge labels could be made more visible. The light/dark printing is kind of a good idea but still there should be a better solution.

Milwaukee makes great power tools, but hand tools are something else
I bought this wire stripper the other day, and the plier came out of the package mis-aligned. This wasn't even subtle, but was glaring. I don't expect these pliers to last very long, even for a forged tool such as this one. Milwaukee makes great power tools, but hand tools is not their forte. For hand tools, stick with the Kleins or Knipex--they're 2-3 times the cost, but will last a lifetime.

I've owned a number of wire strippers over the years. This is by far the best combination one I've owned. It does an excellent job of stripping wires, but at the same time, it also works great as pliers and the wire cutter is top notch. The tip is reasonably sized, so it fits in relatively tight spaces. It does a good job of stripping wires, with minimal loss of strands (usually 1-3). Stripped solid core wire just fine and didn't notice any damage. Cutter is very sharp. Easily cut everything I've thrown at it so far - from 20ga to 8ga (stranded). Haven't had a use for the wire crimper or bolt cutter, but I'm glad they are there as you never know when you'll need either. Build quality is excellent. Tool is heavy and feels very well made. The lock is easy to engage and firmly holds the tool closed. My only gripe is that the numbers on the jaw can be somewhat difficult to read, particularly when there's any glare as the finish is shiny.

The Milwaukee Wire Stripper Pliers (Model 49-22-3078, Made in China) is a solid, heavy tool that will stand up to use and abuse. It's well balanced, with a perfect amount of spring force to open the tips. The stripping blades are sharp and easily strip solid wires from 8-18g (10-20g stranded) covering the majority of sizes for typical electrical wiring work. Wires sizes are engraved on both sides, both solid and stranded. The cutting blades easily slice through coax, extension and Romex-type cables, though I'd really like to see a Romex-slicing rig added. Typical small bolts (8-32, 6-32) cut easily and mostly cleanly, and the single-size crimper at the base of the pliers comes in handy. The handle lock is extremely easy to activate with thumb, no matter how you hold the pliers. The lanyard loops in both handles are great for those that like lanyards. I'm a little disappointed the tips do not come together completely, leaving a gap of about 1/16”. I own other stripper/pliers, with more crimping and bolts-cutting sizes, but these do what I need most often and they are heavier-duty. The Milwaukee quality is obvious and the price is certainly reasonable.

I think the first thing you will notice when you grasp this tool is its ergonomic anti-slip handle and its substantial weight, which together provide high leverage. Milwaukee has provided one tool with seven features. I use to carry three tools that now have been replaced by one. The crimper, just above the locking lever and the locking lever itself are two pluses. The handles even have lanyard slots. Electricians and A/C peeps will definitely appreciate this tool. It is a Milwaukee tool, they don't disappoint.

Everything I Need In One Tool! This well-crafted tool is a great addition to your electrical toolkit. The handles are comfortable to hold and their extra length gives better leverage for cutting and gripping. The tool is a little on the heavy side, but was comfortable for me to use. I used the pliers and cutters to install zip ties. The milled plier surface made it easy to tighten up my zip ties without slipping. The wire cutter is sharp enough to closely crop the tails on the ties. I also used the tool to cut, split and strip some 12-2 low voltage lighting cables. The cutters made clean cuts of both conductors in one shot. I could get the cutters open wide enough to start the zip of the conductors. Did a great job of stripping. The #12 stripping blade cut through the thick insulation without nicking the conductor. Also used the tool to cut a 6-32 screw. The long handles made the cut really easy and the threads on the screw weren’t damaged. Still more functions to try, but I really like this tool.

Milwaukee has crammed a lot of features in this one tool and if you’ve done much wiring, you know that’s a good thing. First, I love these handles. They are comfortable enough for all day use. They look great and make using the tool more comfortable. The cutter on these are very sharp and easily slices through wires. They make a clean, quick cut. While working on a project with another guy and several tools handy, I reached for these anytime any cutting was needed. The end is made for reaming and works great. I like the crimper and that it’s an included feature. The strippers are marked one side for solid, one side for stranded, each side marked for their particular sizes. The pliers are another great feature that keeps me from keeping up with or carrying another tool. There are two bolt cutters, one for #6, one for #8 and the loop maker. These will strip 8-18 solid and 10-20 stranded. That’s pretty neat. These have a limited lifetime warranty and they are a great looking tool.

This Milwaukee multi-function wire-stripper is a well made tool. While made in China, it apparently was designed in the US and, in any case, looks and feels precise and solid in your hands. Spring loaded, it operates smoothly and easily strips wires from 8 to 18 gauge. Wire cutters, solid plier ends and the ability to cleanly chop 6-32 and 8-32 machine screws are also features. It has a good hefty weight and very comfortable soft high leverage handle grips. Worth having in your electric toolkit.

This is a good combination electrical tool. I like the red hard plastic handles. The safety latch works great. I tested the strippers on a variety of insulated solid and stranded copper electrical wire and it worked great for that. I tested the screw cutter on both stainless steel and zinc plated steel 6-32 and 8-32 machine screws and it worked great for that. The cutters and pliers work well. Overall this is a good combination electrical tool.

I have 4 other strippers of different brands and designs including heavy duty one of another brand that builds solid tools. But this is my new favorite. It edges out my other heavy duty one for several reasons. 1. The spring loaded handle is easier to use than my other heavy duty set that has no spring. 2. It has a catch to hold them closed where the other does not. Of course having no spring they don’t need that so much. 3. The cutter uses a scissor type design where the cutting edges slide over each other. That makes for smoother easier cutting than the edges that press together like regular wire cutters. It helps that these edges are very sharp and precision ground. The handles are comfortable. The only negative I see is the numbers are pretty hard to read for someone with bad eyes like myself. The numbers could be bigger and perhaps a better contrast I find them hard to read if the light is not really good. I know they look very clear in the pictures I took but that is the flash helping. But that is a minor thing. I just need good reading glasses on when I use them. Also after using them just a bit I know where each size is anyway by position. The precision of the machining on these is really good. You can see the difference in these and my other heavy duty pair. The step up in precision is pretty noticeable. The quality on these is top of the line. That precision makes them good across the fairly wide range of wire sizes they cover, even the smallest size of 20 AWG. It’s typical of what you expect from Milwaukee. This is just a well made tool all around.

The Milwaukee 9 in. 7-in-1 Combination Wire Stripper Pliers Model #48-22-3078 is a relatively new product to the Milwaukee Brand. It’s a multi-use tool with ergonomically friendly handles. The Wide Jaw pliers feature a crimper, wire cutter, wire stripper, loop maker, reamer, and bolt cutter. Being able to strip 8 to 18 AWG Solid,10 to 20 AWG stranded wire and cut up to four 12 AWG wires makes this a nice addition to my tool box. I also like the swing-lock design that keeps the pliers closed when they’re in my tool drawer. Made in the U.S.A. this product is supported by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Tough! If you install a lot of dryers or work with wire less than 12 gauge, it is time to upgrade. These pliers can cut through wires and wire bundles that the standard pliers just can't. However, with great strength comes a little more weight and a few less features like crimpers. I don’t do a whole lot of electrical work, but these pliers have covered all the electrical work I have done so far. The wire strippers work great, cutting wires are easy, and being that they are also pliers I have used them for non-electrical related applications as well.

While one handed operation was important to me in choosing these, what I wanted most were durable handles... I wanted the kind of handles that under no circumstance would start to slide around like on some combination pliers where the rubber grips are banded on. This tool delivered with comfortable, molded on handles. These 9 inch, 7-in-1 electrical pliers are most helpful because there’s less swapping tools on and off the tool belt. I can cut insulated wire (up to 12 AWG), then strip it (8-18 AWG solid or 10-20 AWG stranded), make a loop with the loop maker, and then use the small linesman head to twist wires together. If I need bolt cutters to reduce screw length for the fixture, it’s got ‘em (#6 or #8)… although, while these are labeled “high leverage,” there are tools with better leverage that won’t aggravate my arthritic hands. I haven’t needed to crimp or ream with these so I can’t speak to how well this tool does that. The clip that keeps the tool closed for stowing can be operated with one hand and both handles have loops for hanging or tethering. Wire gauges are labeled on both sides of the tool (for us lefties), so thanks for that Milwaukee! I just wish the labels were larger and laser etched in case the paint wears off… I'll need to use my glasses either way though. Another nice Milwaukee tool!

Although I like the idea of combination tools sometimes I'm disappointed in how well they work but not this set of pliers. However, I'll admit I probably won't use all seven features. But I can see this tool replacing at least 4 other tools in my toolbelt. I will definitely use the pliers for cutting; stripping and twisting wire. The loop making feature is handy but takes a little practice. The long nose on the pliers will be really useful when working in confined spaces like outlet and switch boxes. I also like the swing-lock design and the ergonomic handles.

A comfortable solid tool with plenty of power to cut electrical wire easily. The stripper has marks for solid and multi-strand wire so you don't cut too far through the casing. I have a specialized wire crimper but having one on this means I don't have to try and juggle two tools with one hand. There is also a handle lock to keep the tool closed that easily actuates with one hand. I was surprised by the bolt cutter to trim overly long screws down to the size you need, you thread them through the first part which will protect the threads and clip off the part you don't need. This tool just replaced a much lesser one in my electrical bag.

The Milwaukee 9" Stripper Pliers are a great asset to my electrical tool box. The stripper will remove insulation from 20 to 10 gauge on stranded wire (18 to 8 gauge for solid). They feel solid in the hand and have a larger pair of pliers built on them to add versatility. The plastic handles are very solid and secure. The wire cutters gives enough leverage to cut wire easily, and have a built in crimper and bolt cutter will cut 6-32 and 8-32 screws . The crimper works great on the larger insulated and uninsulated connectors (yellow and larger). These are made in China. The quality of this tool is good and I would order again.

The Milwaukee wire strippers has many features such as such as large comfortable textured grip handles, solderless connector crimper and 6-32 and 8-32 screw cutter. I used the stripper on solid copper wire and it stripped the insulation and cut wire smoothly. Also, it is spring loaded and has a lock. Overall a very nice tool and the only thing I could think to add to it would to make so it cuts 10-24 and 10-32 screws.

                      Milwaukee Electrical Pliers
I've had these pliers for a few months now and I'm a big fan - I'm not an electrician but got these for adding new drops and lights in my shop. These are very comfortable to use, they strip wire well without leaving scoring marks on the core of of the wire, they function well as needle-nose pliers, and they cut wire well. I've cut 14/2 and 12/2 romex with these with little effort. Now that I'm done wiring new drops (for now) I keep this in my hand tool bag for doing punch list tasks in our house we are renovating. All in all this is a great hand tool, does its job well, and is quite comfortable
