This pump worked flawlessly. Way better than a hand pump or 5 gallon bucket. It pumps these handholes out faster and saves me time and energy. I use 2 batteries and have one charging while the other is pumping. These fiber handholes hold 100+ gallons when full. It drains the batteries pretty quickly.

Quick draining of water with no clogging
I'm subscribed to Milwaukee's Pipeline new release newsletter and when I saw this M12 cordless water transfer pump, I had to buy it. My local store did not have it in stock yet, so I bought it online. I bought it because when I put the pool away for the winter season, I put swim tubes in the center, with a tarp on top, and roped to the sides. For some reason, water still finds a way to gather on top of that tarp - ALOT of water. There is really no easy way to empty that water. The 36-inch length of this transfer pump is AWESOME because I can just poke it in the water, turn it on, and the water is gone is mere minutes. The hydro pass filter prevents any fall leaves from clogging the tip, ensuring water draining the entire time. I really like how portable this thing is - just bring the pump with me, connect my hose, and turn it on. BEFORE, I had to use an extension cord and plug in a submersible pump with a rope tied to the top of it and gently lower it to base of water level, being careful not to put too much stress on the hose connection. Then, carefully plug it in while on dry ground. I keep an empty 5-gallon bucket next to the M12 transfer pump so that after each use, I fill it with fresh water and drain it so as to clean the insides of the pump of any contaminants. I use a 6.0 battery and it lasts a while before I need to recharge it. I have a sump pump in the basement whose alarm went off because water hit the water leak detector. Come to find out, my sump pump switch was bad, so I had to replace it, BUT I had to drain the water in the existing sump pump basin first. I whipped out this transfer pump, drained the basin, and changed out the switch with a spare I had on hand. With me connecting a hose to this transfer pump frequently, my only concern is that the hose connection is made of plastic where I wish it was made of more durable material instead of plastic. I'm super careful when I thread the hose connection on so as to not cross-thread it. I didn't mean to make this review so long, but as you can see, this water transfer pump has already proven very useful for me.

Works great for my needs, I just wish it had more portable
This transfer sticks works great, I just wish it came with a carrying case, to protect it, a compartment case for the battery ( to protect it from getting wet) , and I would have loved to see this come with the excellent extension tube from the BacPacVac( that would really make this very portable and protect it during transport). There is usually a lot of standing water in my area and that was my main reason for getting this item. I tested this out with a bucket of water and it worked great. While using it I noticed that the battery gauge is on for approx 3 seconds so you may miss it initially if you look away, while operating it I wished that this came with an attachment to keep it upright so I did not have to hold it the entire time. All in all this worked great as it was able to transfer the water, I will say it does it quietly also which is good. After approx 30 seconds of not drawing water this will shut off , so that it is not running and running.
Also an LED shining down from the handle would be good to, so you can see the work area in deep trenches
This might come in handy for those odd jobs where you might need a pump to quickly drain water from an area. It's about 3' long with a sort of a filter on the end that can be unscrewed and cleaned. It takes a special battery (not included, see photo) that goes on the very end of the pump. Simple on/off switch runs it. I used it to drain our turtle tank to clean it. That was about 40 gallons of water and it drained the tank in just 2 or 3 minutes. I was able to just run a hose out the front door and let it drain out there. I probably won't use it for that again, since the filter part I think kept it from picking up all the debris I wanted to remove from the tank, but I think for other uses it will work great. I know I wished I had it when we were building a deck. We had just dug all the post holes and were going to pour concrete footers in the holes, but we got a massive rain that filled each hole with about a foot of water. I had to make a siphon with a garden hose to clear them, which was a pain. This would have made short work of that easy. The drain tube is made of aluminum, so you never have to worry about it rusting or anything. The fact that it runs off a battery I think makes it a bit safer to use around water where I'd be leary of plugging something in to drain it. It's also much more convenient too.
So I've had the new stick pump for a few weeks and I've got so much use out of it. In the last few weeks I went camping and the kids kept flipping the kayak over no problem for the stick pump. It pumped out the kayak super quick. I even tested the pump and it had no problem sucking off the muddy bottom of the lake. With the built in strainer screen it kept out large particles and it did not miss a beat. Now for this week I live in at louis and my work has flooded twice and it was bad over ten inches in the building. After the water went down we still had a ton of water so I set my new Milwaukee m12 shop vac on a large trash can and when it was full I drained it into the can. I turned on the pump and and it had no problem pumping 75ft out the door for hours a day. It has been a total life saver and the possibilities of this pump is endless. The battery life is beyond my expectations and the pump moves about as much water as a garden hose. This pump has a permanent spot in my truck and it's ready for its next job. I highly recommend the stick pump. Milwaukee quality at its finest
This Stick Transfer Pump by Milwaulkee operates on their 12V battery platform and delivers around 9 Gallons per Minute of uninterrupted pumping in water meter boxes, trenches or any other open pit area that collects water. This machine features a 3 foot submersible aluminum barrel, as the pump provides the reach needed to suck out water at the bottom of hard to reach areas. The end of the device is equipped with a 360 degree filter with Hydro Pass technology, eliminating downtime created by unclogging a hose or pump and so on. With a standard M12 Redlithium battery, this pump keeps up to the stated 9 gallons per minute and 275 gallons on a M12 XC 4.0 AH Battery (Battery and Charger NOT INCUDED).
The Milwaukee M12 cordless submersible stick is truly a homerun. This little pump will become you most used tool once you get your hands on one. The pump is extremely well engineered and crafted. They tiof everything when they made thus. The pump is around 30" tall and has a standard garden hose discharge port connection on to hook up to if need. But if outside the pump has enough force it will shoot the liquid being discharged a good distance out of the discharge port you may not need one. The bottom of the pump has a very robust suction screen to protect the pump from sucking in unwanted debris and garbage that may damage the tool. The screen also lets you pump down to around 1/8-1/4" in of liquid in the area being pumped out. The pump lasts a good amount of time on a battery and doesn't suck the life out of them at all and has a very long respectable runtime.
This M12 stick water transfer pump exceeded my expectations with a countless number of applications for a pro or homeowner.
My observations:
• It’s quiet. In fact, the only thing you hear is a slight hum when running and the sound of water.
• It’s fast. I used my own 3.0 Ah M12 battery (battery not included as this is ‘tool only’). I pumped 5 gallons of water in 32 seconds. I was impressed with the speed and matches Milwaukee’s claim of ‘up to 9 gallons’ per minute.
• It has your standard ¾ outlet which allows to you to use standard hoses.
• The entire barrel (3 ft) can be submerged right up to the handle. This will provide increased depth into the water.
• The filter/inlet can be removed and cleaned if needed. I took a pic of the filter removed.
• Uses are endless but primary uses include emptying a sump pump pit if power is lost or maintenance needed, clogged catch basins, removing water from various adverse plumbing situations, clogged French drains, etc. I live the Midwest and we have sump pumps in our basements. This tool could save me thousands of dollars of damage in a sump pump failure situation.
• Very powerful. Obviously with the ability to dump 5 gallons in about 30 seconds you will get a powerful release of water with the option to move the hose well above the handle providing ample head height.
• It includes a battery gauge (built into the handle) for monitoring.
• This tool is easy to use and handle. Very lightweight.
I’m a tremendous fan of this stick transfer pump. Because it’s M12 battery operated it’s so versatile and you can have this up and running in seconds. I’m impressed and this tool will be used often. Good job to Milwaukee on this one. I recommend.
This is a great tool for quickly removing water from trenches, puddles, sprinkler boxes, or everywhere else water may accumulate. I use mine regularly to filter out bottom sludge from my fish pond and it works great – see picture. As it is a Milwaukee tool, you can trust that it is high quality and built to last many years. At around 9 gallons per minute flow rate it doesn’t take long to remove water from one spot to another. The barrel is 3 feet long up to the handle and that is the depth the tool can be submerged. There is a battery status indicator to show the level of battery charge – see picture. The filter works well to keep debris from clogging or damaging the pickup impeller. Overall, I am very happy with this useful and time-saving tool - recommended.
I got this to pump the water off the cover over my pontoon boat. But it is summer time so the cover is not on the boat right now. But I stuck the pump in the lake just to see how it pumps and it seems to move a lot of water quickly. I've been using a manual pump for this but it gets a bit tiring sometimes. This should save some effort. I don't know yet if I like the outlet being set up for a hose. I think it's a good idea but it might mean I have to add one. Still I think my boat cover will get the water removed more often now that it won't be a manual process. I have other 12V Milwaukee tools and they all work well.
This is a handy pump to have around the house. There are endless uses for this pump. It can be submerged into 36 inches of water so you can get into those hard-to-reach places. It pumps 9 gpm and has a max lift of 15 feet. It can be connected to a standard ¾ inch garden hose to push the water where it needs to go. It's powered by the Milwaukee M 12 Battery system, which powers many of the Milwaukee tools, and pumps up to 275 gallons per battery charge. The pump has a 360-degree filter on the bottom to maximum flow when there is a lot of debris, so it can be used without stopping. It's nice and light and can be used with one hand.
compact and easy to use! charges both my 4.0 and 6.0 battery! recommended it to anyone using Milw...

Pumps a little water fast and quietly
This pump exceeded expectations. I use it to pump out irrigation water when fixing broken valves or pipes. Previously, I used the type of transfer pump that you connect to a drill. There was a review that said this performed just the same. I completely disagree. This out performs those. Also, it's very quiet and convenient. We turned off the water supply and then opened a 1-1/2" pipe. This pump had no issues keeping up with the runoff. The hole never completely filled up. We just stuck the bottom of the pump into the bottim of the dirt hole and let it do it's thing. After we were done, I took the bottom off to clean it out. There was nothing to clean. Next time, I'll pump out the water into a bucket to see how much debris this pump passes.
All the guys were impressed.
