I'm just the occasional DIYer that does various automotive and household tasks. This 3/8 drive stubby is perfect for hard to reach jobs such as removing caliper bracket bolts and suspension components. I like that it fits perfectly in my 3 drawer packout toolbox as well. Although not as mighty as a full-blown 1/2 inch impact wrench, this thing has managed to successfully remove lug nuts on my ram 1500, my travel trailer, and my dump trailer.

Must buy
Well i bought this kit about a year ago. I can honestly say i am not dissappointed. I am a mechanic and I used these two tools for just about everything. The stubby is a beast the air ratchet has some power as well the only thing is that its not as strong to break off a bolt but it is still worth the purchase. Id buy them both. Definately worth it. I have out both tools through some tough times

Bought this to take off lug nuts and make working on cars easier. I was a bit skeptical if it was strong enough, but after several jobs, this tool worked amazing. Took off lug nuts like a champ.

Best Decision!
I’m a Ryobi fan at home but when I’m at work Milwaukee seems to reign. The small form factor is so helpful for automotive use and the power of this little sucker is amazing. Has more oomph than my 18V impact and i love the Auto mode so nuts dont come flying off at me. Looking forward to checking out the other M12 tools

The little stubby is just that. Easy to pack around at work and to get into tight spaces while doing air-conditioning work. Enough power to do just about anything you need done. Also enough power to break things if you’re not careful. Don’t let his little size for you it is very strong. Purchase a larger battery if you plan to use it a lot.

Love this tool very very versatile
FYI I purchased this tool in June 20 this review is done in September 20. I was skeptical like everyone else is before they purchase 12-volt tools. I myself own numerous 18v tools. I have become accustomed to there power and torque. I have a friend who spoke highly of 12-volt power and versatility. I understand that the 18 volt and 12 volt systems are apples and oranges in terms of what you can throw at it. I was very very impressed with this tool. I will give you all a very good and very cost-effective way to utilize this tool in two ways being an impact wrench obviously and as well an impact driver. I just picked up a 3/8 in square x 1/4 hex shockwave impact adapter. I use this professionally as a contractor so weight is always a factor. Hey, guys get rid of some weight from the toolbox leave the impact driver at home. If you get this imp. wr. and purchase the adapter your savings alone there is a few hundred dollars. I love Milwaukee tools because everything they make is always multifunctional. I hope this helped.

Alright, so I'm a Milwaukee guy. I have a full array of M18 impacts (in addition other tools and most of their battery sizes), but recently started dabbling in the M12 line of tools with the purchase of an electric ratchet. So, needless to say I was intrigued by such a small impact putting up torque comparable to most of my M18s. (Not anywhere close to the 1400 ft lbs of a 1/2", but that's not what I got this for). This thing will fit anywhere, so it's super versatile. I had to adjust the cutting edge on my snow pusher which I had tightened with a 1/2 " M18, so I figured I'd put this to the test. It did the job without a sweat and in a timely fashion. I did, however, use 3/4 of a charge in doing so. (Although larger batteries would help, I don't get the impression of great battery life from this tool, and that's okay). So all and all a great little impact that will fit anywhere, and work on MOST applications (I have reservations about ceased bolts)

Don't believe the hype
The Milwaukee M12 3/8 stubby impact looks, handles and feels awesome but it lacks power. I would have kept it if it had more cojones. In real life usage my ugly 18V Makita impact driver with socket adapter is only about 10% bigger but it was busting off nuts this sexy Milwaukee couldn't budge. If they make a stubby 3/8 in M18 format I'd be all about it, but this one's going back.

I bought this 2.0 battery for my M12 tools that needed a little more run time over the regular battery, and didn't want the weight & bigger size of the 4.0. It's the same size & looks exactly like the regular battery and the only way of knowing that it's a 2.0 is the front label with the small red 2.0, or the tiny model # on the bottom. Milwaukee should make the 2.0 numbers much larger and backed by white like the M12 logo to make it easier to see in a tool bag or in limited light. The main thing is I did notice a longer run time on my hand held M12 vacuum (which is a power hog) and on my drill (I use it with a wire wheel for paint removal on wright iron railings).

Excellent Performance and Lightweight!
This compact battery performs very well and does last longer than some of the larger batteries from some of my other tools. Although it is a small size, the power that it delivers is awesome!
I enjoy the Milwaukee drill and Sawzall, and with this extra battery, I don't worry about having to stop in the middle of a project. I do have the larger, extended life one, but this one is so light (it measures 3.25" tall and weighs less than 8 oz.) that I'm always reaching for this compact one first. It is really nice having this spare battery on hand!
