The Milwaukee M18, 18volt Lithium-Ion Duel Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw is a great portable saw to own. The saw takes the same batteries as my Milwaukee cordless saws all. This is my first sliding compound saw and I really like it a lot. The saw has some nice features like the clamp that can be moved from the right or left side. The light illuminates your cutting surface with a line where the cut will be. The saw itself is easy to use and sets up quickly for use. It is also light enough to take to the worksite. The saw also has a dust collection bag the can easily be removed to empty it. The saw blade can move left or right to 45 degrees. This saw sure beats my heavy chopsaw that shoots the saw dust all over my garage! The instructions could have been a bit more informative. I'll learn as a go along. I've only had the saw for a short while but I have a feeling this saw will be part of many new projects to come. I might even try crown molding now. Thats one way to try out the bevel cut.

I love the quality of Milwaukee tools and have been waiting for them to introduce a Miter saw for their M18 line. This saw didn't disappoint and was well worth the wait. Like all Milwaukee products it is well built with quality materials including precision machined and cast parts which allow for solid, precise, effortless cutting with no flex of the saw. It uses their M18 battery line which means it runs a long time on a battery charge, up to 600 cuts. Since the tool is cordless, the tool feel solid but lighter that my corded monster. This allowed me to more easily move it around my workshop and carry it for off site projects. The 7 1/4 inch blade is more than capable of cutting up to 2x8 easily thanks to the fact it is a compound sliding saw. The dual bevel allows you to cut most angles easily even crown molding. It comes with safety features like the blade stop feature and the dual led lights to brighten your work surface. This is a quality tool that is well worth the price.

The BEST chopsaw/compound miter saw I have ever owned. This has all the bells & whistles & is easy to transport. I locked down & rotated the saw head to 45 degrees, grabbed hold of the two handle cut outs on either end of the table, picked up this 28-lb., light weight monster & easily transported it up the stairs & out to the job site, with no sweat. I had no power available at the job site, but that was not a problem. The Cedar shingles I was cutting to size needed just the power of an M18, 2.0 AH battery. It worked for me, all afternoon. The cuts were fast & clean. To conserve battery power, I clicked on the light switch, behind the trigger to clearly see the cut area. The light also casts a cut line onto the work piece, so all I had to do is line up the mark on the work piece, with the projected cut line & make my cut. After I brought this saw back into the shop, I attached an M18, 5.0 AH battery, put a piece of 2" x 8" Douglas Fir on the cut table, secured the wood using the cut saw table clamps, pulled out the saw head to it's maximum travel on the slide rails & made a straight 90 degree cut. Without hesitation, the saw cut through that wood like there was nothing there. Extremely clean, fast & powerful. The turntable fluidly pivots up to 49 degrees right, or left, with a simple squeeze of the miter lock lever & detent lever. I also engaged the detent override knob to freely move right , or left without engaging the auto stops at typical angles. The miter lock lever solidly locked the turntable in place, at any angle. On the right side of the saw table, I cut a 2" x 8" Pine board on a 45 degree angle, again a fast & clean cut. Next, I angled the bevel to 45 degrees, while the saw table was at 45 degrees. I removed the fence extension to get the 45 degree bevel cut. I was able to easily cut a 1" x 6" Pine board, at those extreme angles. By reversing my adjustments, I was able to make the same cut, as above, on the left side of the saw table. The fences are 21" long when retracted. By unlocking the fence extensions, I slid the left & right fences out to a total of 36.25". I found this especially handy when cutting long sections of wood & making compound miter cuts. The saw head can be tilted & locked into any position up to 45 degrees left, or right, by loosening the bevel knob, below the slide rails, in the back. The 0 degree stop pin, below the bevel knob, snaps back into place when the saw head is tilted back up to 0 degrees tilt position. Nearly all saw dust was caught, with the dust bag, keeping the work area real clean. The EXTREMELY sharp saw blade & the wrench to attach it to the saw head, was included. The operator's manual also includes many great tips on how to cut complex angles. Excellent engineering made every movement fluid & easy. A highest quality tool.

Back saver.Versatile saw that is easy to drag up the stairs. Other dual bevels I have are great but weigh a ton. This saw out of the box was dead on with all miter and bevel cuts.Easy set up and was surprised at the power for a cordless. Sliced thru treated 2x6 and 5/4 stock without hesitation. As you can see in attached pic LED light is bright and illuminates the work area. Saw rollers are smooth and add to overall feeling of a well balanced professional grade tool. I have other Milwaukee cordless tools and feel their battery line gives the best bang for the buck. Dust collection is good but not great (Who's is?) with included bag.Great portable saw that performs and will save your back.

I'm very pleased with my Milwaukee M18 18-volt 7 1/4 inch compound miter saw and would definitely recommend it for professional and home use. It's durable, powerful and excellent quality. The miter adjustment is super easy and just requires squeezing the lock lever and detent lever and it moves smoothly. The bevel angle adjustment can also be done with minimal effort. The compound slide is easy to lock/unlock. It's easy to carry to the jobsite or can be mounted to a table for in shop use.
Impressively powerful for a small saw! Even with a 7 ¼ inch saw blade this saw will saw miter and bevel cuts on lumber up to 2” X 6” as shown in the video. I made dozens of cuts on the 2X6 and a 2X4 and I still had 3 bars out of 4 showing on the battery. This particular model does not come with a battery. I used Milwaukee’s High Demand 9.0 battery. With this battery I believe you could cut molding all day on a single battery. Most of the saw is made from cast and machined metal parts that are precisely made. There was no flexing or bending of parts so the saw made precise miter and bevel cuts. The saw smoothly slid along the rails while cutting. Three things I really liked about the saw were: the blade brake, the workpiece clamp that Milwaukee included with the saw, and the “cut line indicator”. All the controls, switches and locks were well placed. See the Photos.
Extremely powerful for it's size, spins up to max RPM almost instantly, very smooth and extremely compact. However, there was one major problem. It is not at all accurate. If you have anything less than a factory fresh router bit it's going to dig in and ruin your piece - I've had it drop a ¼" in 2 feet! I still use it often, but mostly just for routing out hinges and rounding off edges. I'll live with it for now, but if I ever have to replace it I'm trying a different brand.

I love these 18V products by Milwaukee. Will continue to purchase Milwaukee. For cordless they are competitive with powered tools.

Great saw. Lots of power and easy to use. Love the grey "laser" line that shows you exactly where the blade will cut. Very lightweight. I used it for about 30 cuts and did not reduce the 6.0 battery at all.

Superb design, super easy to use and setup. Plenty of power for a hand held. I am a big Milwaukee tool brand. It is a shame Home Depot sells Milwaukee right next to Ryobi (very low quality)

too weak for window and door cut outs
not for framing, not for plywood, not for osb window or door cut outs. It's too weak. Still faster and more accurate than laying out lines and cutting with a circular saw but it turned off 10 times cutting out the OSB on a 3-0 door

Convience is Key
I own several miter saws, and they each have their place. If you are looking for a portable saw for trim work, precise cuts, or a great power/weigh ratio, this is your answer. The lock can be a bit difficult to disengage when first receiving, but I have had no issuses since unboxing

I have only had a short time so I cannot fully give it a 5 star until I have more time with it. So far I am very impressed with the quality and features. I love the easy adjustment of the depth and the attachment that lets me attach my vacuum to remove sawdust. It works great and still gives great visibility of the work area. I like the variable speed adjustment and the size is great for fitting my hand. The guide works well to keep a consistent distance with the small base and I was able to attach an old needle like attachment I had to scribe various sized circles. I appreciate the small size for working in tight spaces and they included a lager sized base that I am sure I will prefer to have additional stability on larger jobs. The small base is a little hard to hold steady.
