I bought the bit because I needed to drill out a broken bolt on my exhaust system. I tried to start with a 1/8 inch then enlarge to 1/4, then 3/8 inch. The 1/8 nor the 1/4 would not even start to drill, a complete waste of money. I had even ground off the head so was only drilling the shank

I needed a 3/8" drill bit to complete a landscape border project. The heavy plastic brick border has holes that only are opened so far and need a drill bit to enlarge the hole to hammer in the stake to secure the 4" border piece. I found my Dad's drill over 60 years old, it worked perfectly, however, I was missing a 3/8" drill bit. I went with the advise of a Home Depot employee who helped me select the best drill bit for my project. Cost was perfect and my drill bit helped me finish my perfect landscape border. I highly recommend this brand if you are looking to find a quality drill bit!

Expensive, but a good bit. I drilled 10 holes through 3/8" steel plate before the first bit seemed to be getting dull. I bought the second bit and it broke on the 1st try, so the original bit was used to finish all 18 holes. The photo was after 18 holes were finished.

The holes these bits were producing in 1/8 mild steel were out of round almost triangle in shape and the edge finish in the holes was terrible. Being the most expensive 1/2 bit in the store I would expect much better performance. I was drilling on a drill press and it was a night and day difference between the Milwaukee and dewalt. Excellent drill bit. It is perfect fit for the 5mm size I was looking for, to use with my hobby projects. I customize Transformer toys, and I drill holes for extra appendages like wings / small weapons, or deepen existing holes. I bought a Ryobi Corded Driver from a local Home Depot a few months ago, and this Shockwave 13/64in. drill bit is the exact size I was looking for, as shown in my two pics. Highly recommended item, strong and durable with titanium coating.

Needed to replace one of bits that I broke on my last job. So I decided to get the Milwaukee Shockwave made for your impact drill. This bit is made to drill though Steel, Aluminum, Cast Iron, Duct/Sheet Metal, and Stainless Steel. I had no problem drill though 1/8" steel. I cut with very little effort. One good plus is that is coated with Titanium to help keep the bit sharp. The only negative is bit is only 1 3/8 long so it was shorter than I was replaced. Wish it was a little longer.

Excellent 1/4 inch Impact Drill Bits! Bought them for drilling pilot holes & such & these are sharp! I love the fact they fit right into my Ryobi 1/4i inch Impact Driver/Drill... (Also Available At Home Depot) Stronger than regular drill bits coz I have broken many a small bit before & these are holding up much better! Buy Em, 2 per pack & the Price is Right! Great Value!

I had an opportunity to acquire a Milwaukee Cobalt 23/64" 'Hard Metal" drill bit and, having tried other Cobalt bits, I jumped at the chance. 23/64 is not necessarily one of the 'go to' sizes in my drill bit collection - but when you need it, you need it. Milwaukee claims "No Walking" with their 135 degree angle tip design and I've found that to be accurate in the times I've used the Cobalt bits on metal. On wood I've found that a sacrificial backing is needed if one is concerned about splinters on the exit hole - the Cobalt design is aggressive and tends to 'pull' the bit into the work. One needs to be careful when nearing the end of the drilling job in order to maintain control of the bit. I've used the Cobalt series bits on PVC and they have done a nice job of that. The Cobalt drills have become my 'go to' selection when I have the correct size on hand - I don't yet have a complete set. I think they render good service for the money. I should note that I am a DIY and so cannot comment on the longevity of the Milwaukee Cobalt in a professional setting. HTH Regards, Jim

The 29/64 Milwaukee Cobalt drill bit is the latest to join my growing collection of Cobalt bits. These "hard metal" drill bits have become the "go to" choice in my basement workshop. I've used them on metal, wood, and plastic with excellent results. The 135 degree tip is advertised as 'No Walking', and I've not yet had one of the bits walk across the surface of the work piece. However the helix design is aggressive and I have had splinters on the exit side of wood work pieces. I recommend that, if you are concerned about the appearance of the back side of the wood work piece, that you use a sacrificial piece of wood as a backing. The backing piece may be splintered on the exit of the Cobalt bit, but the work piece will not. The Cobalt series, being aggressive, I've found to have a tendency to 'pull' the drill into the work piece when the drill bit exits. I've learned to ease up the pressure on the drill when I know I'm nearing the end of the job. I'm a home workshop DIY and so may not put drill bits and such through fast paces as others; however the Cobalt series are replacing other bits in my kit as I progress because I've found that I can rely on them to drill through the materials that I tend to work on. I cannot, of course, comment on how the Cobalt series would do in a professional setting. HTH, Jim

I had an opportunity to try out a Milwaukee Cobalt 13-32" 'Hard Metal" drill bit and it follows in the footsteps of other Milwaukee Cobalt bits that I have used. Milwaukee claims "No Walking" with their 135 degree angle tip design and I've found that to be accurate. (Not that some hard metals might not cause the bit to walk, but I've not run into the issue personally on anything I've used the Cobalt bits on. YMMV). The drill bit is a tad aggressive - one has to be careful not to let the bit pull itself into the work once the hole is completely through the material. However a little easing up on the drill when nearing the end of the job makes controlling the process easy enough. The 13-32 Cobalt is marketed as a "Hard Metal" drill but I've had no issues with using the Cobalt series on PVC and wood (although with wood a sacrificial backing piece I've found to be necessary, lest the bit create splinters when the bit breaks through to the other side of the work piece). I should note that I am a DIY and so cannot comment on the longevity of the Milwaukee Cobalt in a professional setting. The Cobalt bits have become a staple in my home workshop; I think they render good service for the money. HTH.

Great for drilling those Pilot Holes. These are Very Sharp & Sturdy. I just have to remember not to bear down on them & brake them as I have & I have noticed these are stronger because I haven't broken any & I have broken many a small bit. I Love Milwaukee Tools & Bits AND SO WILL YOU!

As the Milwaukee Shockwave bits are billed as impact ready, for test purposes, the bit was used in a 1/4 inch, hex drive impact driver. The packing card indicates it as suitable for boring holes in plastic, wood, aluminum and steel. Thus, it was so tested. The holes in a piece of schedule 40 PVC pipe were clean and round, with the bit going through the PVC like cheese (a very dry, hard piece of cheese). The holes bored in a 4"x4" piece of wood were accomplished easily, in some cases having to back the bit out a few times to remove the wood building up in the grooves in the bit. Drilling through 1/8 inch aluminum plate went quickly, however the holes appeared to be not perfectly round. Switching the bit to a drill motor instead of the impact driver provided better control and resulted in a rounder hole. Leaving the bit chucked in the drill motor, holes were then quickly bored in 3/16" steel with acceptable (for hand held drilling) results.

The 135 degree split point angle helps to prevent this drill bit from walking when drilling into steel and other hard materials. This drill bit easily drills through steel and also easily drills through other materials including wood, plastic, and aluminum. This bit has 3 flats machined into the drill chuck end to allow the bit to lock in securely into a drill chuck without slippage.

Received two drill bits in the package which is pictured differently then the package on the website that shows only one drill bit. Was able to easily drill a hole through the center of a thick wall galvanized steel pipe using the 1/8" diameter drill bit with less effort then with using a standard drill bit. This drill bit also drills easily through other materials including wood, plastic, and aluminum.

It started off great was drilling holes in 3/16 " steel easily with only a 1/4" pilot hole but when I was trying to drill 1/2" plate the 1st time it snagged up it broke the hex off. The I was just trying to use the bit without the shank and it cut 2 more holes and that was about it. It didn't want to cut any more even after drilling larger holes to work up to the 1/2" hole I needed.

This is a fast cutting, aggressive drill bit. Yet while being aggressive, it actually takes small bites, resulting in quick yet smooth drilling, with little “catching” or binding. It also appears to be very durable, I have drilled a dozen holds in ¼ inch steel, and the bits shows no sign of dulling. I like the 3 flats cut on the shank, preventing the bit from slipping in the chuck, which can be a problem with larger bits and more powerful drills. While cobalt bits are considerably more expensive than HSS, their longer life and ability to drill harder materials outweighs the additional cost.

Great bit. I especially love that it's a standard 1/4" hex shank. A 1/2" bit is essential for any shop and this particular TIN coated bit seems to cut really well. The hex shank really helps to keep the drill's power transferred to the bit and doesn't allow for any slippage. Another benefit is that the hex shank makes it super easy to use in drill bit extenders as well.

Most of my drilling is in mild steel, typically 1/4" thick. I've used several types of 1/2" drill bits from high speed steel to TiN and carbide for general purpose drilling. I've used plenty of Milwaukee power tools but until now never tried their drill bits. I am glad I did. This is a quality drill bit. Drilling in 1/4" mild steel plate without a pilot the Milwaukee performed wonderfully. The bit started right off without walking. It took a moment to get the full angel of the bit face to cut but once it did it was plowing right through the steel. I am very pleased with the Milwaukee bit and will be adding Milwaukee brand to my drill bit box.

I use these drill bits mostly for pilot or step holes in 1/4" steel. I've never tried Milwaukee bits before so I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I've used high speed steel bits as well as TiN coated. These bits are superior to HSS bits and perform better than my regular Tin bits. The bit is well centered on the Hex drive and seems to have a sharp precise point - no bit walking. The bit worked well drilling several pilot holes in 1/4" plate steel with no signs of heating up or getting dull. I used a drill speed around 800 rpm with moderate pressure. I am very pleased with these bits from Milwaukee!

Renewing a very old Industrial Air Conditioner Pump that was considered beyond repair. The pictures show that it was repairable and is working great . The stainless steel ensures that the next time the seals need replacement I will not have to cut it off of the Base as I did this time . The bit drilled a 5/8 hole where a 1/2 in hole was . Mot an easy task as you might think. Standard HSS Bits snapped off

I tried drilling and I couldn’t finish not even one hole 3/8 thick metal frame

I had some tough steel to drill through…even though it had been annealed. My titanium coated bits wouldn’t penetrate it, but the Milwaukee Red bit went right through. Too bad I can’t afford a whole set of them, but will eventually replace all my bits with them,

The drill worked perfect. It went through steel I beams8 times and still was sharp. It was worth the 20.00 for one bit.
