Great Stuff...
This has been my favorite fertilizer for over 20 years. No fungus, no knats, no problems. I mix one level teaspoon per gallon of tap waster. And I water away... not normally recommended the way I utilize it, you see I try and use MG every time I water about 4X a week if there’s no rain. I will continue to purchase Miracle Gro Potting Soil as long as they let me. I think it’s Great Stuff...

    FUNGUS GNATS!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!!!!
I bought a bag of Miracle-Gro Potting Mix a few weeks ago to amend soil in two potted plants. These two pots are now infested with fungus gnats! Yet, the nearby peace lily, planted with different soil, is not! Nor are the herb seedlings that I am raising from soil in my yard. Miracle Gro potting soil is defintely the culprit! I am super frustrated, because I now realize that this is not the first time!! I thought it was a random incident the last time. I know that this potting soil tends to bloom white mold/fungus. I have tried using cinnamon to deter it. I had purchased Miracle-Gro for its reputation and I purchase bagged soil to avoid bugs. Yet, I did better with ground soil from my yard. Hoping to get this under control, I have now had to purchase gnat traps and horticultural sand--more cost and effort. Very disappointed AND aggravated!

        Beautiful rich feeling soil
I used Miracle Gro Performance Container soil this year. The feel of it in your hands is amazing! There are some clumps but they easily break apart. As expected there is also pieces of wood mulch in it as well. I did notice what I would call a slight smell like manure. Not over powering and why not, it's a natural fertilizer! Transplanted all my starters into their new homes using it as well. My squashes and broccoli doubled in size in four days! My early tomatoes are already producing! This particular blend is a little pricey, but so far this season, it seems to be well worth it! The store accidentally gave me a couple bags of the in ground blend on my last trip instead, but I'm going to use it when I plant my starter potatoes this weekend.

Poor quality with large pieces of wood.
I bought several bags of potting mix for my flowers. I have noticed there is a lot of big pieces of wood (some the size of golf balls or bigger). I know in previous years it definitely wasn't like that as I had part of a bag left from a previous year and I compared it. Due to the large pieces, it is harder to work with and planting smaller seeds is almost impossible to do without picking a bunch of chunks of wood out of it. It's almost as if they didnt allow enough time for the materials to completely break down. I could understand if it was just a piece here and there, but the pieces are large and the amount is way to much! Come on Miracle-Gro, get this situation fixed; I have always liked your products. However, if this situation isnt fixed, I'll be finding another brand to use. I used to recommend miracle gro to everyone, I won't be doing so any longer until next year when I buy potting mix and this issue is resolved.

We are sorry to hear that you are satisfied with Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. Small pieces of bark and twigs are intentional components of our potting mix. Potting soil tested at PH 5.5
I bought 10 bags 60L for my hanging baskets and house plants the soil is terrible more mulch then soil plants are not doing good so I decided to test the soil. My test results showed pH at 5.5 acid. I Googled what it's supposed to be and it's supposed to be pH 6.5. I find that the soil dries out on the top fairly quickly the first two inches and stays soaking wet underneath because there is too much mulch in the soil.

              Grass in potting soil
Never had this happen before - I have “grass” coming up in pots that I used your potting soil in - the root system in the grass is very thick & sort of matted - it could choke out my plants - NOT happy! I use nothing but Miracle Grow products

                Fertilizer burn and GNATS
I've been sending daily pics of my plant to the grower and they insist it's fertilizer burn even though I have not admitted to them I used Miracle Grow because I didn't want them to pass the buck blame it on that. Clearly they are right. I'm also irritated that MGro has not responded to emails asking for advice about its use. Side note...reading the Gnat comments sounded all too familiar. We can't sit out in the early evening because they are everywhere and yes, they swarm from the MGro bag. I believe in you get what you pay for and that's why I bought "the best". Ha! Generic store brand as soon as I return the massive MGro bags I have

                  Beware of gnat infestation
I used this product to repot my parent’s house plants. I also used this soil for their outside plants and growing raspberry bushes. Couple days later I noticed tiny winged insects living in the soil and flying around my house. I repotted the house plants a second time using the same product, and now my parents have more gnats than ever. I feel awful that because of me they have this huge infestation with their house plants and raspberries. I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of the with no avail. Buyer beware!

                        Waterlogged plants!
I purchased the soil, as a new plant parents trying to give my plants the best of the best. After replanting my plants and giving them a watering 2 weeks ago I noticed that my spider pants ends were growing to a transparent brown after a week and today that my pothos variation was turning yellow at the stem! Checked the soils because they were dark and the moisture was reading at the highest and I haven’t watered them since I repotted them 2 weeks ago! Both are propagations from early last year and I lose them I’ll be devastated. They were perfect before the soil change

                            Disappointed this time
I have been using miracle grow for years and have been very happy with it but the last bag I bought had so many pieces of debris in it as I used it I kept finding more and more pieces mostly 1/3 or less of the size of the piece pictured and just discarded them but I just wanted you to see what was in the last few inches of the bag. I don’t mind paying for the soil but don’t need all the debris

                              Weeds!
I bought a bag of the potting mix on December 31 to pot some new plants. I spent the day getting them settled in their new homes and now, a week later, I have weeds growing with my plants! These are new pots, the plants have been watered with water from my tap, and there wasn't even nursery soil or anything else you could blame the weeds on - these are clippings that were growing roots in a vase of water that got planted in a pot of 100% new Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. This is ridiculous! I would not recommend this product at all. The same little sprouts are coming up in my pots with different plants. Who ever heard of having to weed their houseplants!?!

Great product when used as intended
I have been buying various sized bags of this potting mix for various plants for many years. I have not had any issued with the product itself. It works as described for the intended use. It's best if you protect the opened bag when not in use because bugs do like warm moist environments. I allow soil in my pots to dry between waterings in most cases. Over-watered plants is just as bad as under-watered plants which will cause a lot of issues to plant quality of life and the attraction of insects. Container gardening is different than ground gardening. I don't recommend using the Gardening Mix in lieu of the Potting Mix for container plants. Also, add a rock bottom to the planters for adequate drainage to prevent root rot and bug infestation of maturing plants. This product is of good quality when properly used with well maintained container gardens and plants! Love it!

I bought this to start some plants, replant others, etc. I now have a Marigold that's about 2 to 3 ft tall! I also started Hollyhock seeds to plant late this season to bloom next yr. Hollyhocks are supposed to take 12 to 21 days for sproutlings to emerge, that process was sped up significantly! Love all of your products, but I'm amazed as to what this particular soil has done for my 2 potted tomato plants, marigolds, & more!

I purchased the largest bag of Miracle Grow Potting Mix to repot some of my houseplants. After repotting several of the houseplants I started seeing fungus gnats flying around. Fungus gnats terrorized and damaged every plant that received the soil. I had to spend more money to try to get rid or control the fungus gnats. I am very frustrated and disappointed with this product. First time every this product has cost me to incur major expenses to enjoy my lovely houseplants.

I was very disappointed with the contents of the bag of miracle grow potting soil. I poured it into a large pot and wet it...then had to pick out large pieces of bark and stones before I could plant my seeds. After putting the seeds in, I sprinkled more on top and again had to pick out a lot of bark and rocks. A lot of this was crap filler and I thought I bought the best. NOT... The photos show just the very top one inch of the soil that I picked the bark and stones out of.

I had the bag still, rolled up, and when I went to open it, FLIES EVERYWHERE! I threw the whole bag out! I have used multiple bug killers and no have sticky traps everywhere!! They help until you have to water your plants..... they just keep coming back. I will probably have to deal with this all year until the winter months when everything dies... Not impressed and will never buy Miracle grow again!!

I started a vegetable garden this year. Of course I turn into miracle grow for all of my supplies. After all, my mother has been an avid Gardner for over 30 years and Miracle Grow was her go to. I grew up helping my mom garden. I purchased 3 of the 50+ quart potting soil for my containers. I wish I took pictures of all of the weeds that came up. I was pulling them up only after realizing they weren’t the seedlings. What’s worse, there were gnats in all of the containers. It was so bad that I finally had to throw away my entire garden. I also have to add that the soil had a lot of rocks and sticks. There wasn’t a lot of actual “soil”. There was also a terrible smell to the soil. Almost rotting. I’ve purchased the Fertilizer/plant food, garden hose attachment and I was brand loyal because of my mom. I wasted so much money on this product. What’s worse I lost the opportunity to grow my own vegetables for summer harvest. My mom came over took a look at the soil and was astonished at the poor quality. Remember she’s been using this product all of her gardening life pretty much. What happened to Miracle Grow?

                                                            Mixing with plastic.
I just bought this potting mix from our local store. Look what's inside the bag, a long piece of plastic wrapping material.

Possibly, the screens were damaged and not noticed, allowing some debris into the bagged product. We are committed to making this right for you.
