Great Unit...But..Using this in a closed/semi-sealed room under 500 sq ft won't work well. I placed it in my approx 450 sq ft (mostly sealed) garage, with the hose vented to the outside as directed and it sucked so much air out of the garage that my Home furnace quit working and I could literally feel air being sucked out of the wall sockets. So in order to work properly in a room under 500 sq ft you need to open a window or have a large air vent to the outside which kind of defeats the purpose. On the upside this monster still heats my garage up in less than 10 minutes. Have not used the Air Conditioner yet. Spoke with NewAir and their Customer service is top notch, have bought a few items from them over the years. They said I bought too large of a Unit for my space, and should return/exchange for a smaller BTU rating. May do this. But it's a pain trying to repackage for shipping..

Nice unit. Cools down our Southern space nicely. Had an issue with the internal tank and customer service addressed quickly.

It came well packaged & was pretty easy to install. Hubby was very pleased with it. It’s portable. So can be moved from room to room which I most certainly love and it also comes with a remote control. I love the fact that the in built thermostat regulates the temperature and the sleep mode helps conserve energy in our living space.

I set the unit up today in my garage , had a 6 inch hole made in the concrete wall , purchased stainless steel brackets and a couple of hours later I can finally use my garage in this Florida heat . What a difference it makes .

I bought this AC unit for a custom build, from an enclosed car hauler trailer to an RV travel trailer with all the bells and whistles. Here are some of the photos of the build, and the AC unit sucks the hot air from the top of the ceilings, down the unit from a special enclosed ducting system that draws the air through and to the AC. I have tested the system under very hash hot weather, it was 115 outside and it kept the inside down to a very comfortable 80 with the window open, I'm impressed with it, and it a great addition to the custom build.

NewAir sent me their one of their AC-14100H units for review and I had a fun time checking out all of its features and putting it to the test. Overall, it performs very well, and was painless to set up and use. I am asking a lot of it to cool my entire garage, but it is so nice to have inside the house as well, in any room around 500 square feet. My garage was over 650 sq ft so it was a big task, and setting it to run in the morning, I was able to keep the temps to a reasonable low 80s with the door closed while it was over 90 outside. If I had a smaller garage, or one in partial shade, it would definitely cool much easier. My favourite feature is that it can switch between heating and cooling automatically as you just set the temperature. Everything feels well-made and of high quality.

Produce received ahead of schedule. Package was in excellent shape. Produce works as advertised. Simple to use and easy to install. I am very happy with this purchase.

Would not power on straight out of the box.

The high and low fan speeds went out right away. 5 years in and the entire unit is now junk. Do yourself a favor, and buy a Frigidaire.

I have 2. 1 is in my bedroom and couldn't sleep to the loud squirreling sound and loud motor sounds. Warning NOT made for bedrooms! 1 in my living room. Same very loud!!!

I use my NewAir to save money. Instead of cooling (or heating) the whole house to my desired temperature I run my NewAir in my bedroom (includes TV & stereo system) where I spend most of my time. I set my desired temperature on NewAir, keep bedroom door closed and set the house's thermostat at a much cheaper temperature setting.

Great output, too loud.

14,000 BTU IS A NAME ONLY. 8,500 IS THE TRUE BTU RATING OF THE UNIT !!!!!!!!

The newair ac14100h is a decent ac. It blows cold air and is pretty quiet. It is very compact and easy to set up. What I don't like about is that the water from the humidity builds up fast and has to be emptied and without the water tank it shuts down. I have to exchange my unit which is covered under warranty. The customer service is excellent. The best I've ever encountered in a company. Every customer service agent is very helpful and will go out of their way to help you out. Thanks

I bought my air conditioner around 2015 and it works very well. I use this in my bedroom instead of our central air conditioning because it is not so powerful in there. Keeps the room nice and cool. Customer service is also very good. My remote stopped working. Since I have it a long time, the replacement costs $5.00. If I ever have to replace it, I would consider getting another NewAir.

Supposed to be heat and air, only the air works. And this only works with a positive review, negative reviews wont be accepted.

Item says it cools 500sf but it does not even cool 200sf...you have to sit right in front of it to get the benefit. Wasted my money

I used my Newair AC/Heat unit at my Mom's house when her HVAC unit went out. The unit heated and cooled her large living and dining area quickly. Several parts to the unit were lost in transit when we sold her house. An excellent rep named Hilary quickly responded to my inquiry to replace the parts with a quote (which was quite reasonable). That is quality customer service, getting what you need to keep enjoying your purchase.

After less than 10 uses, the unit would only cool for a minute or two after turning on and then only the fan would run and blow hot air from outside into the room, making it hotter than before. Customer service was helpful in determining the unit was defective, but we did not purchase a warranty so the best they could do was 30% off a new unit. Annoying but understandable I suppose. Judging by a few other comments, they also had an issue but had the warranty and received new units. Seems like the warranty is a good purchase, as the unit was great the few times it did work properly for me. 3 stars for the way it ran beforehand and the good customer service, just wish it would've lasted at all for me and seemingly a few others.

This is by far the best AC/Heat unit I have ever had in my garage. My garage room is where my daughter and I spend countless hours in the TX heat and this keeps us very cool. I am extremely grateful for NewAir and this unit.

Purchased the cooler/heater combo. Love this unit. We put it in a shipping container we built into a tiny home. Easy to install and use. Having a problem with the compressor some but they are replacing our unit. Very nice customer service. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I have a 14 x 12 room bedroom and I could not keep it cool I couldn’t get it no cooler and 77 to 75 I like it at 68 and last summer when we had that 90° weather it wouldn’t get it past 83 84° that is low as it will get it in my room is 14‘ x 12‘ not counting the clothes closet. this AC is junk don’t buy this

I use this New Air A/C unit in an upstairs bedroom because it's always hot there. This units cools my whole bedroom. It doesn't take up much room. Easy to hook up & works great. There is very little maintenance is required. I love the remote it is great.

The unit proved to be way to noisey to use on our porch so we returned it to Home Depot.

I will recommend this unit to all that need to heat or cool, The unit is large enough to heat my green house and hope it will cool it this summer. I would also want all to know the support staff, ie Mr Trapp, for the excellent assistance. My experience far exceeds my expectations. THANK YOU ALL
