Cordless and Lightweight. No complaints about the design. Found the height adjustment was easy to used and fine tune. I was surprised how powerful and smooth this tool ran, considering it is only 18v cordless. Love the flexibility of working in the Ryobi battery system. Main annoyance is changing bits as it required a separate wrench that cannot be stored on the body. This is typical for routers but wished they could find a method for bit changing without a requiring a separate tools.

Even though I was using an inexpensive router bit, the router was easy to move and control. I was very pleased with the results. I look forward to using this router for other projects that I have planned.

I bought this tool because H.D promotional sales with free battery. Other than original router base. I made my own extended router base with two handle for wider routing work. For adjustment the routing height there you can release the clip for fast adjustment or fine adjustment by the knob. which is real practical idea. With 3 AMP battery which is good enough for you handle most routing work. For the price and quality this tool is worth each dollar spend on it.

I bought this to trim the excess filon off a wall for a camper rebuild and it was a great investment. The weight of the router isn't too much to make the job more strenuous than it is already and it also isn't too light that it wobbles constantly. The LED light is a fantastic accessory. The only thing I would suggest, and this may be unnecessary for some, would be a level bubble to make sure you're running at a true 90° when working on half coverage pieces. Used with bosch fluted laminate bit.

Lightweight, but sturdy build, super easy to confidently maneuver, and cut Doug Fir like butter. Quick, accurate adjustment for deeper cuts. Too efficient and fun-Now I am looking for OTHER PROJECTS.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received this great little trim router, or "Palm" as it's called here. I'm not building fine furniture here, but rather simple workshop cabinets with 1/8" plywood fronts on 1x2 frames. I was looking for the easiest way to flush trim those edges. I'd never tried using a router for this before. After reviewing several online videos, I bought the Ryobi and dove in this morning. I built a trial-run mini-door to test it out. (photo) Flawless. Three cabinet doors later, with no problems whatsoever, and I'm here reviewing it. I've got a router table I barely use, because most of my projects are just too small: Picture frames, wood artist panels with back framing, etc. This little router will NOT find its way to the back of the storage area. I'll be using it for more projects now that I know how effortless it is.

This router was a great surprise. I have several Ryobi 18V tools and a number of batteries, so I decided to give this a try. I was not disappointed in fact I was surprised at what a great little tool this is. I have yet to find a project this will not work for. My other routers and router table have not been used since I bought this. The power is amazing, along with the run time. I have been using it to cut circles for clock frames and I can cut several circles with a single charge. When cutting circles it is important to make several passes. For 3/4" MDF I make about 5 passes. I also use it to round over the frame and rabbit out the inside for the glass and lights. It far exceeds my expectations for this. Another plus is the fact that I do not have a cord in the way. I designed and 3D printed a dust port that really helps keep things clean and dust free. I also use it to cut the clock face from hardboard. Not that it needs it, but would buy instantly if brought out in brushless version. I love the quick depth adjustment, takes just seconds to adjust. The run time is truly amazing. I have been using this for over a year and it is now one of my favorite woodworking tools. I paid $69 for mine only to find it on sale a couple of weeks later for $49, thought of exchanging it but it is worth every penny.

Honestly its a great router. Definitely does the job well. However it eats the battery in MAYBE 20 min with continuous use. So great for small projects however recommend electric powered router for large projects. I had to rotate through 3 different ryobi batteries on charge to complete my project.

Used it to route some MDF for a couple of custom trim pieces. Worked great. Note: I did make a small router table for it.

This a very good Trim Router, not great, but very close. I've used it quite a bit over the last year. Pro's: The motor is very powerful, I've pushed it harder than you really should. I've had 1.5 inch depth by .5 inch with bits in it and it doesn't struggle. Ergonomics are great, it is very easy to hold and handle. Cons: The edge does not exists, it's been out of production for a long time. I've heard you can special order it, but the person I asked at Home Depot said they couldn't. No way to hook a hose to it and trust me, it needs it. I think the Rigid unit is identical and I've been tempted to buy it's vacuum guard. making adjustments with it is ok, could be better. This will crush batteries, They really need a brushless option. Definitely buy the double pack of 6ah batteries. When you factor the price, how well it performs, it's a great buy. Honestly, you need to spend a lot more for routers that address my cons.

In a previous life, I used a corded trim router daily. Since then, I've wanted to try a cordless. When Ryobi started making one that is so affordable, I new it was in my future. I use this router to radius corners and edges and it works well for that. I expect it'll trim laminates and veneers just as well. Obviously, a tool is only as good as the cutter you put in it so, keep it sharp. It doesn't seem to spin quite as fast as it's corded cousins, but plenty fast enough to do the work I use it for. My son and I built a small carrying case (photo) for his chefs knives and I used the trimmer to add a 1/4" radius to the box so we could wrap it in vinyl later.

Love it... easy to use and adjust...used for 1st time and made this sign for my nephew

Very happy with this little router, I make sign with mine. I do the small detail work with it. Has great power would definitely recommend it
