Exceptional
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I added this to an older, already existing 8.5 Amp wired variant in my arsenal that is primarily used in a router table. I ran this router about 36 linear feet with a few different bits and that was enough to get a good feel for it in my opinion.
Plenty of steady power in pine/fir/cedar (didn't test hardwoods yet). Good visibility with the small diameter, work-light & clear base. Extremely easy tool-less base detachment for easy access to collet. Easy depth adjustment.
My other corded model requires two hands and has much less visibility. It's so convenient to pop a battery in and not trip over cords while bringing the router to the workpiece and not the other way around. I have yet to find any cond with it.

A Great Light Weight Router For DIYers
This is a great light weight router. I can use it when I need to quickly do a little routing on soft woods like pine. It's really handy since I already have ryobi batteries. No more cords to mess with. I found when Using a 3/4" router bit that I had to make multiple passes increasing the depth of cut a little each time. It made much nicer looking cuts that way.

Great that it comes with a dust collector attachment. Wish it was easier to install. Also: instructions say you may remove the metal base to install bits. You need to learn the location of the thumb latch to do that.

Great addition to my Ryobi collection

Strong And Easy To Use
I had this router only a month and was finally able to use it a couple of days ago. I own a larger router that can be used as a handheld router, but I keep it attached to a router table. It also requires 2 hands to control when not in the table. This router has plenty of power, but not so much that it's hard to control. The soft start is nice and it's very easy to remove the metal outer case to gain easy access to the bit. Note that this router uses the 1/4-inch shank bits.

Makes projects more fun!
