I wanted to give this kettle a good rating… the design, capacity, ease of use is great. But there is one terrible flaw that sent it packing… under the top of the kettle where the lid attaches, the edge is rolled inwards to remove any sharpness (a lovely design). HOWEVER, there is a weird finish to the inside of the kettle that appears to be failing from that rolled edge. Whenever I boil water I see gray flecks of particulate on the bottom and when wiped with a paper towel breaks apart into a fine dust like consistency. I believe the finish/coating is compromised from that rolled edge. I gave it a few good shakes with just warm water and I can see the grey flakes. This is not something I want any of my family members drinking. So this kettle does not get my seal of approval. Sadly disappointed.

Good kettle, not excellent. Does the job. Even with the silicone grip handle, the handle is a little too hot to grip after heating the water. And the silicone on top of the spout is too small to open it for pouring without being extra careful. Under the spout siilicone for closing the spout is even worse; very small and easy to get burned if not careful. Otherwise, it's a good tea kettle and looks good. Handy fold down handle. I'd give it three and a half stars if possible. Also, it's a bit pricey.

This teapot is made with very beautifully polished stainless steel which will not corrode. It has an excellent design and lightweight but very strong.All the parts are tightly assembled, rivets, handle and spout cap. I like that it has a wide bottom surface which makes it very stable and not prone to being accidentally knocked over, this also aids in heat distribution. Sits flat on range and heats up quickly. The spout cover whistles when the water boils.

This is a very nice classic looking tea kettle that will add to the look of any kitchen. It is made of heavy duty, brushed, seamless stainless steel with a rubber covered, fold over handle. It is very well made. I like the large capacity with a wide base so it can not tip over. The cover opening is large so it is easy to fill. When the water boils the spout whistle is loud and when you open the spout cover it stays open for easy pouring until you close it. I use it daily and recommend it.

It’s Tea time but perhaps try only a cup or two at a time. I chose this model because I liked the style as well as the appearance of nickel stainless steel which matched my appliances. My first experience I filled the tea pot up to a inch or two from the top to make a picture of ice tea. Instead of whistling when the water was boiling, water boiled all over my stove top. I’m glad I was near by, what a mess, there was no whistling. The tea kettle is appealing to the eye. A convenient rubber fold down handle with a easy grip handle and good size grip knob for a very tight fitting lid. I like that the spout cap does not have to be removed but push down on the lever and it stays open Instructions recommend to wash inside prior to using which is a good ideal when buying anything new. My greatest concern is rust resistant construction, is this pertaining to the outside appearance because instructions also include how to eliminate rust deposits from the inside of the kettle, why would the inside not be rust resistant I think I will stay with my grandmas tea kettle, it’s not as pretty but it has never rusted or boiled over in 15 years of use.

This OXO Classic Tea Kettle in Brushed Stainless Steel is really beautiful and of Excellent quality! The finish is stunning and the shape and style are simply gorgeous. It has a nice soft whistle. No drip or dribble when pouring. When you remove the lid, the opening is large and wide which makes cleaning easy and seeing inside easy. The handle stays cool to the touch. I didn't know I could love a tea kettle so much. Highly recommend!

Kettle works fine. Stainless steel and streamlined look is nice. Wide opening for easy cleaning. The spout component doesn’t have snug fit, so the “whistling” is more a gentle whisper. Handle has smart design, it doesn’t touch the kettle when not upright and has comfortable grip as expected with the OXO brand.

Requires placing fingers close to very hot metal in order to turn whistle off (or back on).

Nice looking, seems well built. Heating up a cup of water seems to take longer than the OXO Tea kettle I had before.

Sturdy attractive kettle! Looks great on stove, takes awhile to boil but it’s well made !

I’ve used it several times a day for the last couple of weeks. It’s excellent! I did a fair bit of research about similar products before choosing this one, and I doubt very much that any of the others I looked at would come close. In particular, this is the only one with a spout that even looked long enough, and it is long enough for pouring into my brewing device, which has a non-detachable flip-up lid that blocks pouring from directly above—the others would not have worked. And the spout doesn’t dribble. There are no seams anyhwere in the main body of the teapot--just around the base of the spout, where the seams look very sound. This promises a long life.

Fantastic tea kettle. No bells and whistles - OK, it has a nice whistle... ;-) Very well made and easy to get the lid on and off.

It’s not much to look at, but I finally found a kettle that doesn’t drip or dribble. Pours like a dream!

This is a nice kettle and functional too. The handle swivels to the side giving easy access for cleaning. The whistle works fine. Have been using it for a week, and so far, we're happy with this purchase.

Looks great. Cleans up like new. A quality product I will keep and use every day.

I love my tea kettle, best purchase ever! This is my 2nd OXO Classic Tea Kettle, my 7 year old one will go in our RV and the new one is for our house. OXO makes a great tea kettle!

I like how wide the opening is and that the handle moves for easy access. Like the look of it. Disappointed that it doesn't sit perfectly flat. It rocks, like the bottom is lopsided and little.

Great in all respects; hopefully it'll last awhile.

This is the best tea kettle I've ever had. It's got a huge capacity, yet does not weigh a ton. The spout is designed in such a way that the water, when poured, goes exactly where it is meant to go, with no sloshing or drips elsewhere. And it's lovely to look at when sitting on the stovetop. I could not be happier with my purchase.

Love the kettle in every way except the inside of the bottom started to present rust spots shortly after I purchased it. It is supposed to be stainless steel which does not rust. Other than that, the kettle is very nice; pours easily, whistle is great and nice open spout.

It's really sturdy but light, heats quickly, easy to handle when hot. I really love it. It looks nice too.

I like this tea kettle a lot. It looks good and it's well made. The only thing I don't like is when it's hot, it's a little hard to put the spout stopper back down.

Just the perfect size for me. Looks great on my range, easy safe pour if you follow the directions. Lid fits very secure. Great price for a brushed stainless steel whistling teapot.
