I applied it to my outdoor fence and it looks and works great. I’m looking to protect my fence for a long time. So far the water rolls right off.

I’ve been using this stain for many years to maintain a cedar deck. I’ve tried other brands, but Olympic Elite is definitely the best I’ve used. Application and cleanup is easy and it holds well.

The color is great, but it takes 2 good coats to deal with the cedar knots that continue to show through. The knots show up as white blotches until treated with the 2nd coat. Also, remembering that this product is oil based and is messy to clean up. Mineral Oil and Brush Cleaner will be necessary to clean brushes, roller pans and smaller stain holding containers. But it is worth the effort to help protect the wood on the fence in this climate.

Confusing label
Ive bought the oil base for several years now, great product. This product is water-based. The labels on the can on the oil base and the water base both are identical. Read the back one says oil-based and one says water-based but there's nothing on the front of this that says water-based. I went online and ordered what I thought I'd been ordering forever. $534 later I get it back to the shop and realize that it's water-based. Olympic needs to address this for the customer.

WONDERFUL RESULT!
Never do reviews but SO HAPPY had to do this one. Applied to 20 year old deck (partially under cover & open) previously sealed w/ transparent cedar stains every 3 years w/no peeling. Researched recommended solids but feared peeling others had. Decided on transparent Olympic Elite Mountain Woodland Cedar. Replaced 3 railing boards, only washed w/ detergent/hose & applied. All matches, best used in EVERY respect. Hope it's around in 3 years. Looks GREAT, may outlast me.
