I bought 2 approximately 2 years ago to keep ALL of our dogs out of my flower beds and off front porch. Let's start with the perks. First, they are very powerful and detect motion easily if batteries remain fresh. The clicking sound is also startling to the approaching target. Next, these can be used as automatic sprinklers with 30 minutes run time. Now for the cons. They are HUGE and must be connected in 3-4 different joints, which have to be checked for leaks frequently due to loosening of the threaded parts. They have a duration and range setting that can be increased or decreased. But, even on minimal setting, the projection of water's height is way above ground level missing the mark that activated the motion sensor (ie, shoots WAY over our dogs' heads). Unless there have been any modifications, the directions for assembly and usage are lackluster, and I had to search YouTube for videos to learn some of the features. Unfortunately, there are so many unidentified small detachable fittings, that one of ours is no longer able to oscillate. I think it could be an easy fix if a diagram of parts was/is available and the capability of replacing the ones needed. In summary, they are a great safe deterrent for pets and pests. However, I don't think the price is suitable due to lack of instructions and information on how to repair. Additionally, when previewing my review, there was a message under my images stating that they were submitted as "part of a sweepstakes". I have no knowledge of what this means, and my review is not influenced by any type of promo.

This is an amazing product. We have no deer damage in the garden without using any fence. It even scared off a bear. I have recommended it to several friends.

Very happy with the product. Several neighborhood cats were using our yard for their toilet and hunting grounds for geckos and after some research decided to take a chance on a technology solution. So far has worked great. It detected and deterred the cats from the first time we switched it on. Funny watching the cats trying to figure out what the heck this thing was that was spraying water at them. Still early, about 3 weeks since the Yard Enforcer has been on guard duty but seems as if the cats have been conditioned to go elsewhere. Side benefit: Had an uninvited solicitor come up the driveway the other day who got a pretty big surprise. I have spray range on minimum so he didn't get directly sprayed. Negatives: Couldn't set the detection range short enough where it wouldn't activate for cars driving by and people walking by on the sidewalk. I moved it to a different location and aimed it where it was pointed to the side which solved that problem. Wind, for some reason, also seems to activate false detections frequently to the point we'll need to switch off the unit on particularly windy days. Other than that, have been pleased by the performance so far.

Failed to shoot when this flock of geese wanted to take a look. This thing had one job to do.

Needed a solution to keep our dog from digging along the side of the house to lay in the cool dirt . I repaired the area once by adding topsoil and reseeding but she went out and ruined the area again. Thought I'd try a humane deterrent rather than any type of shock collar or punishment. Hooked the sprayer up and within minutes she got a water blast and took off. Just recently repaired the area again but our dog won't go near that area now that she knows she'll get sprayed. Coming along nicely with new grass popping up and looking like new again. It's been about a month since we bought it and we're very pleased.

Thought this would be a decent unit to discourage deer from coming onto small yard and snacking on fruit trees. Assembly was easy enough and it does work but not as expected. Detection range is much less than described. More like 20' max. I wanted a sprayer to go hot during darkness only. Right now it is evening with an easy 100 yard visibility. It just triggered over something and it is NOT even dusk. Quite disappointed in the device vs the product description.

After 3 weeks, this product is working so far; it has kept the deer from our yard and we are hoping that continues to do the trick! After sprays, pellets, motion detectors with a beeping sound, this MIGHT be the answer!

I have purchased a few of these over the years and quality seems to be getting worse and worse. It usually lasts just one year, and then will need to be replaced. The item I received most recently continuously sprayed water without stopping and Orbit customer service just recommended returning it as defective and ordering a new one.

The new one that I purchased is working great. The one that I've had for 18 months stopped working..

Had to return it because it arrived broken.

This worked for one night, and now doesn't work at all. I have checked every connection and replaced the batteries with brand new ones twice. Doesn't even click like it's trying to work. I threw away the packaging after it worked for one night, not realizing it would break the next day. Would not recommend.

I purchased this to chase away stray cats. This sprinkler works very well when it works. I set it up where I was having the problem. There was a road approximately 80 yards away and the sprinkler would go off on passing cars. I am not sure what happened but it just quit working. I would recommend a water filter for it as that may have been part of the problem. Would I buy it again? I would like to but, no. I went through 2 of them in less than a year.

We had cat poop on lawn for weeks. Tried coffee chili peppers, etc. Nothing worked. This works great. No more poop. It is worth us getting sprayed every so often because we forget it is there. Very happy with this product.

Works well enough. It's finicky. The daylight sensor is poor meaning it can easily spray you even when it's seemingly bright outside because for some reason, it still thinks it's nighttime.

Unit needs to be assembled but is easy. Recommend using teflon tape @ connections for good seal & lubricant. Become familiar with the various settings. Source water pressure significantly affects water performance. Sensor unit sensitivity would rate as a B/B+ works fine. Very satisfied with this purchase, considering purchasing a second unit. Only have had this one month cannot comment on long term durability.

Hard to get proper range

Seems to be working well. Because of the weather right now I haven’t been able to observe the yard as often as I’d like.

I would have given 5 stars, but my 3 sprinklers finally bit the dust after 3 years. They do work great, but now for the price, the value isn't there...hence the 2 stars. I purchased my 3 Orbit Yard enforcers for $39 each online, now they are over $60. Sorry, I get inflation, but not this kind. I won't purchase these out of principle...3 sprinklers for just under $200 after tax? No chance.

Works fine, batteries last longer than I thought they would, most of a year, anyway. I learned to wrap teflon tape on the hose threads, the brass-colored joint is really aluminum and gets corrosion in the joint that makes it a pain to remove. You get used to not walking within range without turning it off, but not like you're gonna melt if you forget.

Working great! Feral cat not gone but 1.27 acres so need to order another. A little costly. Can't let dog roam! Easy to assemble. Lots of features. Thank you!
