Thank you for posting your feedback. We are sorry to see your low star review on DAP Phenoseal Does It All Vinyl Adhesive Caulk. Based on your commentary indicating: "the bottom of the canister broke", it would appear to signal that the inner foil seal was not broken/punctured prior to attempting to apply the product. As indicated on the product package label guidance: "2. Cut nozzle at a 45º angle to desired bead size. 3. Puncture inner foil seal. 4. Load into caulk gun. 5. Fill gap w/sealant". Failure to puncture the inner foil seal (Step #3) will not permit the product the flow from the application tip as intended and will likely result in product bypassing the plunger creating the condition as you describe.
