Very happy with this barn door. Installation can be tricky since you basically get one shot to get it right, but the measurements in the instructions were right on the money. One suggestion I would give is to lay all the pieces out as the would go together before starting, that way you get the correct orientation as to top and bottom and how everything fits together.

This thing was a nightmare to put together. Even after watching the video and combining it with the written instructions it still took hours. Several steps we're out of place. The door would totally be worth it if it actually came assembled instead of in a thousand pieces. The box they send it in is nearly the size of what the assembled door would be. Lastly, don't mistake this for a wood door because it's all plastic. I recommend spending a couple extra hundred dollars to avoid the pain and suffering and have someone make one for you.

I have no doors between master bedroom and bathroom. I was looking for alternative for curtain, because the heat is leaving bathroom after shower. So I decided to install the barn door. It's made of plastic, comes in the pieces and looks like plastic from close distance, but from the other side it's water resistant and easy to clean. Also it's not expensive and easy to install compared to other types of doors, you don't need to open walls. So if you are looking for inexpensive alternative for cloth curtain between your bedroom and bathroom, it's good. But if you want to put it in the living room, where you welcome your guests, it will look cheap, because it's plastic made. Also box came damaged, but getting replacement parts was very easy.

Awesome door, great customer support (had to call for missing lock-screws for extension bar). The instructions (available on the HD page) say to use either a 3/8” drill bit (I assume for masonry install) or 5/16” for stud or mounting board. DO NOT USE 5/16” for stud/mounting board, USE A 1/4” DRILL BIT!! Unfortunately I found this out because the 1st lag bolt was loose - and use 1/4” on the remaining with no problems. The door is great, we love it - easy install, looks wonderful.

This door is beautiful and easy to assemble. It slides without problem and has the stoppers to make sure it doesn't bump anything. Put together with the white bead board from Home Depot and the grey plank from Home Depot, it's one of the most favorite things of mine during our renovation.

The door looks amazing, I love how durable it is. Although putting the door together is easy, you will need additional people to complete the project. This is not for a amiture installer.

It's a beautiful door at a good price. The reason I gave an average rating is, it's difficult to screw together. As a fairly strong woman, I could not physically screw to frame of the door together. Also, the plastic was so strong, and with no pre-drilled holes, it was very difficult to put on the handle and a few other pieces that were required. It would have been nice if the door had already been put together.....recommended for a strong man experienced with construction.

So the instructions are online and it doesn’t really say that. And some holes don’t line up properly but I’m a 24 year old girl and I put it together myself and I’m only slightly handy. It looks way more intimidating than it really is. Oh yeah it doesn’t say the door itself needs assembly and it does. I didn’t hang the track myself but as long as you gather all the tools you need ahead of time it’s not hard. There were a lot of additional pieces that weren’t even necessary. Overall I think it still was a bit of a hassle since I wasn’t aware of needing to do all of the work and fortunately I had space in my house to set it all up and complete it. I specifically wanted pvc for it to be lightweight and if that doesn’t matter to you then I’d still pay the extra $100 for a similar door in wood just for convenience. The door looks very nice once completed.

Very beautiful door. It is light and slides real easy. However, we did have to buy a 1" x 4" board for the railing. Love it!

Was exactly what we needed for our opening and room colors. Only con was directions were a little vague, would have been a little helpful to have the actual numbers or letters on parts

This door is really nice. I like that it is PVC so I don't have to worry about the steam from the shower affecting it. Only issue I had was the bolts provided to attach the handle were not long enough, so I had to buy new bolts and nuts. I also had to make some custom metal brackets to accommodate my particular install location, but that is to be expected since I was not installing the door onto a flat wall. I also had to buy some heavy duty drywall anchors since I had to install into drywall in my application. So far, the door is functioning great. My wife and I love it. I would buy another one. The door rolls smoothly, the hardware seems strong. The door stops work great, as well as the door guide to prevent the door from swinging. I have had this door installed for about 3 weeks now without any issues. Assembly of the door took me approximately an hour or so. Hanging the door track took another hour or so (I had to run to Home Depot to get hardware). I am very happy with the quality of the door and how it is constructed. Only reason for four stars from me, is that I had to buy bolts and nuts to install the handle.

Door is a good door, was not expecting a plastic door, that had to be fully assembled:) Another thing was the hight measurements were not clear considering the assembly kit that had to go on top of it.

White 36x84 door. On sale and Free Shipping a plus. The packaging was extremely good. No missing parts. Well made and solid. No complaints. Installation recommendation, WATCH THE HOME DEPOT VIDEO a couple times! It is well done. TIP, If you have carpet, be sure to do your height measurement from the top of the carpet pile. Don't push the tape into the pile! I used the top of the pile to measure and was fine. Tried to use a stud finder but too much metal behind wall so I used a nail and hammer and located studs. I decided not to use backer board as the door would stick out an additional 3/4 inches. This meant drilling 4 new holes into the metal rail. I used an existing gold tipped drill bit for metal and wood and had no problem drilling. I filled the extra nail holes in the wall and painted them after the job was complete. Installation of the rail was easy after finding the studs just make sure you have a 1/2 inch socket as the bolts are long! Also used a 3 foot level to make sure of level as the ceiling was a little off level. The door came out perfectly level doing this. The door parts lined up perfectly. I used a hammer and wash cloth instead of a rubber mallet to tap in the interior panels. It worked fine. I also did not have a 6" phillips head bit so I used a screwdriver by hand. It's a little tough, but it worked fine. Hands a little sore though (arthritis). The result was a perfectly solid door, no stripped screws, etc. Was a little nervous putting the door on the rail since I have carpet, but I had good clearance at the bottom since I measured from the top of the pile. We have white distressed furniture but this door is PVC bright white and there is no changing the color! Am very happy though and not only is the room transformed, but my wife's bathroom now has a real door, not a cardboard one!

Extremely easy to assemble and install. 1 man job took me under 4 hours start to finish. Make sure you have the 6" phillips bit for your battery drill and it goes a lot easier. I would recommend installing a 1x4 header board, you will never get the lag bolts to line up on studs in typical 24" centered walls. Once it is up looks great, my only criticism is the handle, the bolts to hold it on would be better if they were capture nut type so as not to stick out so far and rub the wall. Also there is no inside handle which is weird, something like a recessed finger grip would have been perfect.

Was really easy to put together and really like the look of the door.

There was no display of this door at Home Depot and I thought it was a heavy door, like the one they had hanging. Just a different design, but it is thin hollow pvc. It came in pieces and had to be completely put together. No panels were marked and no direction. It is a good thing I am mechanically inclined and resourceful. Looked on U tube to find video to put together. It looks nice and I managed to put it together correctly. Just not a the heavy door I thought I was getting. I also drilled wholes in the track to hit studs. To not have to put a header in. That worked well. If you are just looking for a light door this would be fine.

Once assembled this door is nice. It took me approximately 2 to 3 hours to assemble and hang the door. I have not added the door stabilizer or safety bumpers as I needed the door up for the holiday time frame. I thought it would be very light but when put together the door becomes very heavy duty feeling. The hardware is made of heavy metal and is very durable. I have to say the biggest issue is the assembly of the door parts as it has been previously noted. Now that the door is hung I feel it is a good value for the money spent.

Great door, easy to assemble

Quality of the barn door is wat I expect but wasn't expecting that I will need assembly every piece of this door is made. It was a little bit of challenge but once you figure it out it's Ok. That's way is only four star. The door it self looking great and are very easy for cleaning and overall meet my expectations and for the price I recommend to everyone.

great quality for the price. stylish, classic clean lines. its million moving parts, notwithstanding, once you put it all together, it is something of a marvel. i recommend you attach the hardware to a two-by-four before mounting to the wall. it will hold up better and longer.

The door looks good and works very well but ......... The rail above the door took 1 1/2 hours because the holes in it were 17.5 inches apart. Why? Did they think those holes would have a chance of lining up with any studs in the wall? I drilled two additional holes in order for me to hit the studs in the wall for the lag bolts. How about adding a drill bit and have the customer drill holes in a blank rail for all the studs. Door needed to be assembled. 2 1/2 hours. Directions were tough to follow. Had to go to Youtube which helped. Video should have showed close ups of end of stiles etc. to make identification easier. Because of poor directions I made a couple of mistakes which required me to redo a few things. Handle had bolts too short to connect to the nut on the other side! Had to buy longer ones and paint them, then attached the handle.

Our contractor installed this door without any problems. We love it and it is perfect for the space.

Had the 42" white panel barn door professionally installed for our Master closet. First off the DIRECTIONS are NOT INSIDE the box = They are in an envelope on the outside so don't throw the box out! The end result is beautiful but it is challenging. We almost used a backer/mounting board but that would have thrown the spacing from the wall off. Our contractor had to re drill the anchor holes on the rail as they don't match up with standard stud spacing! The steel rail was predrilled every 10-inches for the mounting bolts, when normal home studs are 16-inches = Shame on Millbrooke! End result is a beautiful door that makes a statement!

I used this barn door for a master bathroom. The installation was about 2 hours from pulling part the box to cleaning up afterwards. I had to make some adjustments to the bar installation , I had to buy drywall anchors and use different screws and I painted the screw black as there were stainless steel. After the installation I realized that I made an error and put the bar about 1 inch higher so for that reason I could not put the spacer in the floor. I will come up with something do the door does not bump with the wall and footer when I try to close it

I bought 2 of these doors to replace some closet doors and they look great. Didn't love that they needed to be assembled but my husband did it fairly quick and easily!

Door assembled easily using common sense to overcome some awkward instruction manual moments. A 1x3x8 poplar backer board was required and spray painted flat black to match the track hardware. The 42 inch door was perfect for the 36 inch finished opening.
