I decided to build a 12' x 10' entertainment unit that needed 4 36" x 48 " laminated panels. I hadn't done any laminate work in many years so I needed some new tools. This purchase was awesome, its light weight, powerful and comfortable to use.

Easy to use. Single speed. Used it to mill aluminum and worked great.

This is a fine little trimmer/router. It's compact and fairly quiet. I've been using it to mortise some door hinges. It's much easier to handle than my full-size router. It has enough power to drive a 3/4" mortising bit without trouble. I like the clear plastic base; it gives a decent view of the work area. The only improvement I can recommend would be a built-in LED light. I see a review where there is a complaint that the height lock doesn't stay snug. Mine is just fine. If yours is loose, read the instructions! The instructions clearly describe how to adjust the locking collar. On the whole, it's a bit better than I expected for the price.

I am very happy with this router. It’s the perfect size and power for small jobs.

My search for this router was for the multiple speed router. Your site switched the number of this item and I did not discover it until I was using it and realized I could not change the speed. Very disappointed that the switch was made. I input the correct number in my search but your site decided to switch items on me.

The locking collar does not stay in position. As you’re working the bit height changes due to the vibration. Does not stay locked where you need it. It’s sad because it is a nice router, I just can’t use it.

The reason I give this a poor rating is due to the height adjustment locking mechanism. It does lock and hold fast. I realize you can adjust the height by spinning the adjustment screw, however, when no adjustment is needed, the height will vibrate to whatever it wants to be at.

It works better than I thought. Clearly easy to use.

I have an older quality brand large router that does a great job and have put it in a table. I needed a more portable trimmer/router for my own hobby use that was quality built but not the most expensive. After a lot of looking I found this tool to be right for me. It is quality built, easy to use, and does a great job for my needs. It is also not the most expensive. It is a very good tool for the money. Some of the cheaper ones I looked at had some issues with parts breaking. This one did not have any of those type of complaints and reviewed very well. I would purchase it again.

This is not my first Porter Cable tool. I have four other ones so it speaks highly of Porter Cable reliable quality.

I use this primarily for small (1/8" radius) round-over bits and straight cutters (1/16") for cleaning out inside corners. Single hand operation works very well for my applications.

I purchased this to use it for milling aluminum because it was one of the recommended routers per the instructions for my end mill. It is a very sturdy little item with plenty of power and it's very easy to handle and maneuver. It has a long cord ( it's got to be 6ft or more) and I like that feature. It has an led above the chuck but it doesn't help much for what I was using it for. Adjusting the cutting depth is so easy, just release a buckle make your adjustment and snap the buckle together. I really like it and I can see why it was recommended.
