[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love honey bees, don’t mind bumble bees either but hornets and yellowjackets are not welcome anywhere near me. We had a real problem last year with yellowjackets chasing away mail carriers and me. First, the attractant is strong do do not get it on you or you may find some bees tracking you down. I set my traps away from my house where the bees had moved in to draw them away, do this at night to be safe, don’t try it during the day like I did. Also important, if like me you are allergic to bees make someone else hang traps because I discovered that hornets will still come out at night to get you if you get between them and a trap. I used twist ties I saved from random stuff I bought to hang my traps because finding something to hang these is on you. The trap comes with a cotton ball and bait, which works great but you can also grab 10 week cartridges to put in as a refill, expect them to possibly even work longer. Additionally, honey bees were not interested in these traps but I got a lot of those pesky yellow beetles and some stink bugs too. The best part, the bees and other pests die in the trap and you just dump them afterwards.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is exactly what we need! We go on a family camping trip every July. The last couple of trips the yellow jackets have been out of control! This had great reviews and so I'm going to give it a shot and bring it with us this year. I'm so excited to have a back up plan. The directions are super simple seems really easy to use and it's going to be easy to pack away for travel.

I am very disappointed in the reusable Yellow Jacket Trap. I set up the trap as directed, with attractant, and despite the trap being located a few feet from an active nest with hundreds of Yellow Jackets, not one has entered the trap.

I’ve tried other yellow jacket traps and they just didn’t work. We almost can’t sit near this trap because so many swarm to it in the mornings. They’re piling up inside. Highly recommend.

We’ve had issues with yellow jackets at our hummingbird feeders & just being generally annoying. In just 2 days this has trapped 20 or more of them. Planning a cookout today so I believe this should take care of them.

I put it near the my pool because the yellowjacks always bother everyone near the water. This trap def works . The phot I have attached is about a week and a half worth.

I bought this product in hopes to catch a bunch of yellow jackets. Sadly I didn’t even catch one! We have several in ground nest in my yard. Even placed this product next to one. Followed instructions with the cotton ball and solution and placing inside the yellow base. Still sits empty for two days now. Ugh

This trap is working well in our backyard! We hung it at night from our pegola using a zip-tie. By noon the next day, we have already caught about 25 yellow-jackets. Just ordered a second trap to hang on the other side.

We put this trap up and in seconds the yellow jackets were swarming the trap. This trap was set up in our yard and not next to a hive. This photo is less than 24 hours from time we put it up.

It caught about 30 yellow jackets in the first half hour after hanging it from a tree in the back yard. Note that packaging info clearly states that it traps yellow jackets only, not wasps nor bees. Works great if you know your pests are yellow jackets. Going back tomorrow to get the 10-week attractant capsules.

Its amazing how many Yellow Jackets end up in the trap. I never knew there were so many around until I started using the rescue trap.

I was a little hesitant to buy this since there were many one star reviews, but I’m glad I did ! I’ve only had it hanging for maybe 6 hours and it’s already caught about 10!

We’ve been using these for a little over a year now and they are amazing! We use the 10 week bait cones to avoid having to change so often. We bait at the beginning of spring, mid-summer, and early fall and haven’t had any more problems with them!

It’s doing it job luring them away from the house

A few days ago I noticed yellow jackets flying around the overhang of my house. I bought this trap and it is amazing! I put the trap out mid-afternoon. Within a few hours the trap had caught 8 yellow jackets! By the next morning, there were at least 8 more! As long as you place the cotton ball and pour the enclosed liquid on the cotton ball as the directions state, and you have yellow jackets, this product works!

I've been trying all kinds of traps due to never ending supply of yellow jackets in my yard. I've been using these for about a week now and I like them so much I keep going back to Home Depot and getting more. I am not using the attractant that comes in the package. I prefer the 10 week refill right off the bat. Also, I am using some oven roasted deli turkey on the stakes inside. Tons of yellow jackets are swarming the traps and my favorite part is they are picking off flies as well, but they are not killing any bees. As for my location I am in Michigan and I am in the city with some trees and lots of flowers. Temp has been in the high 80s, low 90s for the last week. Just installed a pool which seems to be attracting some of the younger ones to their own death trap.

The the trap is ineffective it attracted thousands but they just swarmed around it and never went inside I caught one I saw thousands. Hmmmmm. My old trap is bigger and I used food rotting chicken. It caught tons. Not sure if the size of the trap had something to do with it. Intere-sting. No pun intended.

When I was looking to rid my yard of the yellow jackets or wasps that were everywhere in the front & backyard, I chose this product in spite of so many reviews that said it didn’t work. If others found it didn’t work, they must have wasps and not yellow jackets. Within 1/2 day of hanging it, the backyard trap was FULL of yellow jackets. I’ve also emptied the front yard trap once already and it’s getting full again. For the money, I couldn’t be happier with this product - it’s made being outside enjoyable again!

I thought great I can catch yellow jackets and stay safe because i’m severly alleric to bees and i’ll be able to sit out on my balcony in peice but apparently not, they get inside and somehow they escape the trap. This product has a poor design and it needs major improvments so they can’t escape !!

My neighbor is a beekeeper so I was a bit concerned about whether or not they'd be attracted to this, but so far it's only attracted yellowjackets (presumably because of the lure). For that reason, I doubt it'll capture wasps, if that's your problem, so be cognizant of what type of stingy thing is terrorizing you.

It gets the job done

this thing works great. After one week it has caught hundreds of yellow jackets. Still amazed at how well it works. Would recommend buying the egg shaped pod insert attractant after the cotton ball that comes with it runs out.

We have used these numerous time, and, are always satisfied with the results.

1st 2 pictures are in less that 24 hours!! =) (might be in wrong order, so I added captions.) It works better in a natural area for them, like in a tree. As you can see on the front porch, it's not as natural, so I didn't get as many, even though they were buzzing around there, still ended up catching a lot! =) 1st just used the attractant that comes with it. Then when "buzziness" (business) slowed down, I added meat too it, instead of buying more attractant. Last picture is a few days, in the tree, with meat. =) (might be in wrong order, so I added captions.) Can't Wait to used them again next year when the bee's get bad again. ;-) Super easy to dump out, and refill with more meat or attractant. Seems like the meat did better though. ;-)

Happy with the Rescue Yellowjacket Trap. We had one or two yellowjackets bothering us when we sat on our deck. I bought the trap at Home Depot based on a recommendation from the HD associate. Installation was a snap using some old picture wire. We have collected about a dozen yellowjackets each day for the first two days the trap was in use. I am very pleased with it's performance. I think perhaps the low-rated reviews are from people expecting to trap bees or wasps. So far, I've only had yellowjackets in the trap.

This trapped worked great. It is a bad year for yellowjackets and have emptied the trap twice. Very interesting to watch the trap work.

This is a great product, I bought one and it worked so good, that I had to go and buy two more. When you buy one, buy the large attractant refill, it lasts longer and I think attracts the bees better.

The trap works fine, but I have two issues. First, the bait wears out in a few days and you have to buy more. Second, it is difficult to remove the cone from the main trap area so that you can dump out the dead yellow jackets. There might be an easier way to remove the cone, but the instructions just say "remove". Here is a tip - if there are a few live ones in the trap and you want to empty it, put the trap in the freezer for an hour. Then, remove it, empty the frozen insects into the toilet, and flush!

Easy to use and VERY effective. Check out the attached picture. The trap was only up two days and it is full. wow!
